mjace72
I thought I would see if anyone here could help me with this. Google results keep bring me to loading screen freezing no matter how I word it. The problem is I never make it to the loading screen. I start the game through the launcher and sometimes it stops loading at the opening stars, sometimes at the blue Rockstar logo. Sometimes it stops at the yellow Rockstar logo and a couple times it made it to the disclaimer text page then it stops. I still hear the opening music, undistorted in the background but the loading screen with options to play never comes up. My drivers are up to date. I played the game with no problem less than 24 hours ago on this pc. I have no internet problem, as everything else on my pc works fine. I've loaded up several of my other games with no issue. I verified my installation through the launcher. I haven't made any changes to my pc since I played yesterday so not sure what is going on. My specs, O/S- Windows 10 home(64) Processor-AMD Ryzen 3 1200 Quad core Ram-8 GB Graphics-GE Force GTX 1050 Ti(4 GB) Before I go and reinstall the game I wanted to see if there was something else that could be done. If I have to do a clean install, I have that page on what to do but wanted to verify if the hidden app/data files are the only ones that I need to backup. I assume these relate to my storyline progress and I wish to keep that. This copy is bought through Rockstar and is not connected in any way to my steam account, if that matters. mjace72
After 4 days of continued support from Rockstar and many work around attempts we were finally able to get me back in the game. I was very pleased with the support, given the countdown to next gen console release. They still found time for this pc user. Deleting my temp files was what finally worked. I used to have a program that did that for me, but for some reason didn't make the move with me to my current pc. This topic can be closed.
