When i tranfser my PS4 Char to my Next-Gen on Series X. Will i lose only my PS4 Char or also my Xbox One Char which i also play on the Series X? That is important for me, because i need the Xbox One Char to be able to play with my wife.

The one that get's transferred will be deleted. Since the One character is not being transferred, it should be fine.

My transfer happened almost instantly. I did mine last night around 9:15pm UK time. 

 

One thing I did notice when I launched was that I was thrust into this maelstrom of lights and noise. I have had the music volume turned down to zero for the last five or six years, so to hear Radio Los Santos blare out when I got in my car was a shock. Also, all my fulfilled achievement notifications came in at once. So it was a full on onslaught.

QUESTION FOR GLITCHERS THAT HAVE A DEADSPOT

or any vehicules that are not at the correct spot (bmx on floor, plane in moc, special vehicule in garage etc....)

-did you succesfully make account transfert?

-do you still have deadspot?

-di you still have your glitched véhicules at the same place?

Imagine if they change their minds due to the backlash, and allow you to keep your old gen character...but there's no way of restoring it if you've already migrated.

The sound of teeth gnashing would be audible from space. If they can port one way, they must be able to do it the other. This deletion of migrated profiles is a cock-up of mammoth proportions on their part.

Can I make a fresh ps5 character and still migrate later? Gonna stay on ps4 since people I play with don't have ps5 but still wanna try the updated version.

Yeah you should be able to, I see the option in the pause menu to ''Migrate Character''. So you can create one then migrate later.

highly likely that rockstar is not gonna change the transfer about removing progress on ps4/xbox one

 

as far i can tell rockstar have their reason or might cause problems are

- having same progress for older generation and next generaion would cause issues? (what i mean is the data may be new for next generation but the old generation may have old data)

- copying the data/progress and pasting into the next generation take longer? (the new transfer move your data/progress to the next generation without copying it) (data too big and loads of histroy stuff like buying and selling?)

- not sure what else to add

 

 

if they do changed their mind then i hope rockstar add a restore progress for this just for older generation these who transfered to next generation

- your rank, crew rank, and the cash (that's it) (which you may need to rebuy it all of them) (can't have a Exclusives stuff on it like vehicles and stuff on next generation)

- your created jobs

Was able to transfer my PS4 char yesterday (Day One char on X360). Had played the char 5 years ago the last time and just got times 3 million from promotions.

Is this correct? When you migrate it takes both of your characters to the new version, because it migrates the account not just character 1 or 2. I can't migrate character 1 on my account and leave character 2 on old gen?

 

When you download the new version does it remove the old version of the game off your console? If I wanted to try the new version, but still wanted to play with friends on the old version, I would have to play the old version on my old console?

On the Series X, I have installed both Next Gen and Current Gen, which works without any problems.

Are you saying you made a new online character for current gen, then afterwards you were still able to migrate your old character over? One of my friends is under the impression that making a new character blocks you from migrating your old one, but I haven't seen any confirmation yet.

no i didnt block me, it just erased my new character

i just realized my crew rank went yeeted to 1277 on a new fresh profile on ps4 cuz i transfered my progress to ps5

 

and then i checked my stats and noticed the global rp and say it's 124million but my rank remain 27 (no i didnt do the glitch if you're asking and i will never do these kind of thing)

 

but does anyone have that same problem having the higher crew rank?

 

 

now i see why rockstar wipe the progress when transfering to ps5 and keeping the old progress on ps4 cause to raise the rank/crew rank/money?

Heard some people said when you migrate your account , both characters 1 & 2 get transferred both , But I am not sure , I still didn’t transferred as 90% of my friends still play on PS4 , but we need someone to tell us and answer our question, both characters will be transferred or we can transfer character 1 & keep character 2 !!!!!

When you transfer its both characters as a set. you can choose any data set tied to your account (in case you have both xbox and ps data) and it will transfer those and wipe last gen
