Oh Joyous Rain

[Acehilm]

Oh joyous rain

In plenty you fall

This marvelous sight

Like never before.

 

Oh joyous rain

And the storms that you bring 

Bring a calm in the night 

Flashes of light in the wind.

 

Oh joyous rain

These fields you do yield

For many a men

Feast well when you spill.

 

Oh joyous rain,

Why must you still fall?

We have soo much water like never before!

 

Oh joyous human

I'm merley a leaf

On the body of one

On the branch of this tree

And this tree it is old

But she's strong and in spirits

Yes a mother indeed 

Of one nature's indifference.

I'm not much of a critic in terms of poetry. I always find it somewhat subjective in its interpretation either way. I think it's good, but beyond the theme, it feels like it's about the indifference or nature of humanity akin to nature and the process of itself. Rain is constant, whether humans notice it or not, but we also rely on it. 

 

Again. I could be f*ckin' completely wrong, but yeah. I liked it.

I like your interpretation as it's pretty accurate. I wrote this in the middle of a massive storm.. there's been quite a lot of rain here in Australia so that was also somewhat the inspiration to write this. I'm with you though, I'm neither a critic of poetry as I see it as quite subjective. Thanks for your comment! Good to see you still on the forum as well, Ziggy.
