Yeah its unplayable, I will maybe try to enable Digital Arc Guardian to see what it does but I wanted to play with peoples and have no interest now in playing solo the game...once I'm playing a gamemode(mission, survival) I get sucked into joining a random session as spectator, I'm sure I've identified russian cheaters(stupidly high kd) in several of these sessions I was placed in. 

 

I exited the game when I realized they could also force-invite me from an Invite-Only session.

I just got back on GTA Online after a week long break, immediately got pulled into a different lobby as spectator, while playing Invite-Only.

Guess I'm taking another week off. I used to be safe in Invite-only sessions, and now I can't even have that?

Hi there, I'm the developer for this project. I actually posted about it here on this forum when I launched it a few days ago but it seemed to get mediocre reception. Now that the invites are far more malicious the demand has increased exponentially, which I'm honestly pretty happy about because it means the effort I put into developing it was worthwhile.

I've been getting random invites from the good ol' ballstorture account but also from some named Support.Ukraine and Screw.Putin. I haven't been teleported anywhere yet though. Regardless something is definitely up and given the amount of reports I'd assume they know by now so let's hope that can be resolved soon...

Ballstorture is torturing me whenever I hop on GTA, and I don't even play Online. Every 10 minutes or so, the game will try and redirect me from story mode to his online session, lol.

I don't mind the randoms invites, the worst is the spectator mode. That's some serious cancer, I tried to do Act 2 preps with the annoying watertruck and then....spectator mode. R*, fix your f*cking bullsh*t for once!

The constant session invites from ballstorture and random twitch handles was bad enough, but this spectator thing sucking me out of solo lobbies is some next level BS.

 

I've also seen a few popup messages saying "playername has collected all letter scraps" or something like that.  Already weird because I only play in solo sessions, but the playername is always something offensive like Adolf Hitler or a racial slur.

 

PC is an absolute cesspit right now.

I and all the players in my country have this issue (GTA5 and RDR2) where NO one can send us session invites or job invites or joining our sessions and we Don't receive Notifications of any kind like Messages (We have to check by ourselves to see if someone sent us a message or not) It just says in the social club when you go over a player from my country that he is playing (Rockstar Games Launcher on PC) We Don't even have the Store option in the social club overlay (But it's available in the R* Launcher no problem) it's been years since we have this problem and of course R* didn't do anything about till this day , and Now i'm seeing all this people have this crisis with the notification spamming and forcefully joining other lobbies, I can only feel sorry for you guys , I can't even imagine how terrible your game experience rn .

frankly, any post outside the gta online section barely gets any attention, so most didn't even see it. i know i didn't but the reddit post popped instantly

 

can confirm that your tool works very well for the time being. no more getting sucked out of private sessions, so thanks for that. it's good to see people caring, makes me realize that this game needs a developer and i think r*ckstar should be that developer

I didn't realize how serious this disaster was until I logged into online a few hours ago. Even if I stay in the solo invite only lobby I still get forced to switch to another lobby to spectate.

I'll allow myself to quote myself from another topic here too. So far I've found only one way how to at least play tha GTA story mode or invite only session without being sent to spectator mode during missions etc. But this option actually only works if you play GTA online solo. For example in invite only or story mode as I mentioned before. No multiplayer, no friends, no races, no nothing else.

Hopefully they are fixing the issue. But I'm not very confident about this, considering that R* has barely done much about cheaters on PC in the past few years.

Well they would have to fix it, otherwise this is the end of GTAO on PC. And then i remember how they don't care about PC and threat us like peasants so it's possible they won't do anything about it.

Guess I need to go ahead and pull the trigger on a 4K monitor to hook the PS5 to. Using a 1440 for now but console doesn’t support it so it goes to 1080. No sense doing that with the new version and 60FPS is better than dealing with lifeless sister f*ckers on PC. 
 

 

My PC is more than capable of supporting it so it’s something I need to do anyways.

Is this situation linked to E&E on consoles by any chance? The enthusiasm for E&E is low at best because the only thing we're getting is updated graphics, but coincidentally, PC is unplayable right now, which might push new and casual players onto consoles and into buying E&E?

 

I know this is a cynical attitude, but it seems like a horrible coincidence.

When we go with conspiracies, this is a great opportunity to introduce more ''stable'' PC version down the line with RT and other enhancements which of course comes with the price tag of modest $40 with no discounts cause f*ck you peasents.

I don't think Rockstar would sabotage PC with a view to generate more interest in console E&E, not for one minute, but it is an ugly situation that they need to sort out ASAP.
