Invisible modder (not in playerlist) forcing me into spectator error in "invite only" sessions

Usually when a modder does stuff I can just go to invite only and do my stuff there without problems.
But today a modder started targetting me for whatever reason and this is what happend:

part 1: I join gta online to do franklin's payphone hits, a hacker kicks me out of my truck + instantly kills me while im still in the air falling out of my truck + screen shakes violently and stuff spawns everywhere, I quickly join new session. 
part 2: cannot join new session -> game sends me to gta story mode, from there i go to "invite only" , I start up franklin's contract thing by calling him (the contract option above "payphone hit" when u call him) and I'm almost at the location after a long drive.
part 3: suddenly I get send into "spectator mode" and it says theres no one to spectate and it sends me to a new session. Does that sound very random to you? because that's exactly what it was. I didn't do anything I was literally driving my crappy car on a dirt road to my objective and suddenly it says "cannot find player to spectate blababla" and sends me to a new invite only session.
part 4: so when Im in the new session this happens again, and again, and again, like 5 times every time in a new invite only session, I even tried joining a public session and it also happend about 5 seconds after I spawned in there. This is NOT a bug of any kind, it's obviously a modder.
part 5: I restart the game and change all my settings to as private as possible and it still happens. 

What. The. Heck. am I supposed to do?

- I cannot see their name, they are not in the player list or anywhere else, there are no messages of them anywhere there is no way to report, record, or see them.
- This is my experience and I know what I saw, I can tell this is Not a bug so don't even get me started on that.
- I tried using a VPN as I feel like there was no other choice anymore but that also didn't stop them.

The youtube video shows it far more clearly then I can explain it, and apparently it's happening to A LOT OF PEOPLE

Same thing just happened to me. Was on my way back to the Agency to finish a Security Contract, suddenly got put into spectator mode and can no longer join any sessions. Solo, public, or otherwise, always put into spectator mode.

Same here. 2 people i was playing with got booted to different servers. All 3 of us got spectate boot. Even got it once in cayo as leader.

This is not invisible modder. Some hackers sending prepared packets via Rockstar servers to each PC players... I was forced now to change session to look cheater with advertisment of his mod menu.

Same here. Happened during Payphone hit,Headhunter,and while not doing anything.  Guess I can't play tonight. BTW,it says this exactly:

"There are no suitable players to spectate. Joining a new GTA Online session."

I agree with Qrix. Unlikely that a menu is doing what is happening. 

Like I said earlier I just met the other 2 today. We ended up in 3 different lobbies. 

Almost at same time we all got the spectate bug.

I cannot describe it in more detail im also not english:

No matter what i'm doing this modder can whenever they want to make this happen:
gets send to spectator mode which then gives error that theres no one to spectate which then sends me to new invite only lobby, & repeat & repeat & repeat & repeat the whole time non-stop 
The problem: any progress i make in anything i do gets removed because it sends me to new sessions the whole time repeatedly.

im not sure if youtube links are allowed but just 13 minutes ago someone uploaded the EXACT THING that keeps happening to me,

It appears to be an issue for nearly every PC player. Somebody is distributing modified packets over Social Club. The game is basically unplayable for all PC players now.

 

Genuinely hope this is the straw that breaks the camels back and Rockstar fixes their sh*t. If you feel like it, tweet at some gaming news sites like IGN, PCGamer, eurogamer etc. about it. Media coverage is a very effective tool.

Hi all,

 

Getting the same thing.

 

It's happening more and more frequently, even in invite only lobbies.

 

Yes... game is definitely compromised... unplayable. :(

I don't know if it is connected but the being kicked into spectator mode seemed to time with the random invite from somone called ballstorture  it may or may not be linked but it was the timing of the invite and being kicked to spectator mode.

I was pulled into spectate mode twice on a public server, even when I was alone on the server.  Then I created a friends only server where I was alone, and it happened again there.

It's most likely the same guy. They've figured out a way to send their own packets through Social Club.

 

I also got an invite from Slava.Ukraini lol (before I got put into spectator mode)

You may be onto something. I have been getting multiplayer invites (and I never noticed getting a multiplayer invite until a couple days ago).  I definitely remember getting a multiplayer invite from "ballstorture" earlier today. That is a hard name to forget.

u seem to know more about this than the average person so do u know how this can be stopped? Or do you think we just wait and see what gets done about it?

I don't think it's linked, the random invites from "ballstorture" was going on about a week and a half before this spectator thing started happening

There is also another one that spams the invites one called terramark  now that one seems to have gone quite in the last day or 2 but this ballstorture it is like they are waiting for you to appear online then boom the spam invites flow.

Same here. I decided to amuse myself by asking off colour questions about sanctions, and the likelihood of conscription. Seemed to get kicked faster when i asked if they were afraid. Gave me a chuckle.

 

EDIT For the record. ballstorture and terramark were the culprits for me.

The only way to stop this right now is to block all Social Club functionality from your network. The issue is completely serverside and only Rockstar can fix it for good. I would suggest to wait and see, though. Drop those player numbers. Tweet about it. Post on reddit about it. Or just go to sleep, or have a nice dinner or something. Take a break.

If this is a hacker RS needs to make a phone call.  RS is a multibillion dollar company and America has the best government money can buy. This is illegal.

They'd have to fix a major vulnerability on their servers. I think a big reason why this is possible in the first place is because Social Club is Chromium based.

Ok,just played for a 2 hours or so. I thought it was fixed,but now I get an invite from Putin is fascist (or something like that) and now it blacks to a screen that says the party servers are unavailable. At least I am not kicked from my current activity (I lost 4 payphone hits and 1 headhunter-if I had been doing something that takes a long time,I would have been furious).

Oh,and I did nothing but Invite Only.

 

Looks like they still have some work to do,but at least you don't get screwed out of $$$.

Same here and the entirety of Steam forums.

 

Have been playing this game for almost 5 years and it's the first time something as serious as this happened... Hope it gets fixed soon. Crazy times

Me and all my friends are getting this.

 

It is literally taking us out of missions and events, causing a lot of problems.

this is absolutely pathetic on r*ckstar's part. as if public sessions being unplayable wasn't bad enough, mod menus being able to delete reports and invading private sessions or just crashing people's game remotely, now the game is basically unplayable

 

how are they so vulnerable to this kind of attack? and it's not like this started today, it just got unplayable, otherwise i don't think they would have given a sh*t
