In the original announcement, R* stated that 9th Gen consoles alongside PC will get exclusive GTAO updates, so I think PC will eventually get E&E content wise. With that said, I'm low-key expecting R*/T2 to be petty enough to never bring ray-tracing over to PC.

 

I still can't believe that, RT aside, the graphics/performance enhancements literally seem to be just bringing consoles up to par with PC; multiple people have been calling this since day 1 (and that second trailer didn't help), R* outright describing the visuals as such just seals it, IMO. Having an extra RT performance mode on top of the regular fidelity and performance options is a great decision, though. Now to wait for Tuesday 3/8 to see how much they'll be charging for this new version... :adminkek:

I mean, it wasn't really marketed as a remaster, this is something that was necessary on current gen consoles anyway as people were getting sick of playing at sub-30FPS frame rates and it still comes with visual improvements. I'm just kind of disappointed that PC doesn't seem to be getting anything because just the addition of something like ray tracing implies under the hood code changes and those could benefit PC as well.

 

Also, not sure why some are panicking over footage or more news, remember that Tuesdays are no longer RDO days, and @Tez2 found some webpages (iirc "the garage" and so on) that are likely for E&E marketing, I'm sure there'll be more next week.

 

It looks like it might be the shadows that are ray traced based on how deep they are in the first screenshot, and nothing else? Not sure.

i still dont get it, i have gta 5 (gta online) and i play on xbox series x ... will there be an automatic free update on 15th march so i can benefit of these upgrades? or do i have to additionally pay for this ?

Looks like Rockstar abandoned the "Expanded & Enhanced" tag and now simply refer to them as "PS5 & Xbox Series editions".

 

Something definitely changed after 2020. To be honest, if you exclude the ray-tracing and Hao's new Workshop. You end up with what other companies do, offering a free upgrade patch to current-gen. We would have to see the pricing, but this ain't worth to be sold at 70 dollars. I was expecting a trailer, but we ended up with the same info from the Community Update article. Just this time, with a little bit of new info and clarification. There's really nothing new for Story Mode.

I mean, making the casino available in SP would probably be acceptable given GTA Online already has it, but there's no way to know if the screenshot is from GTAO or GTAV.

The trailer will most likely come next week or next Monday (the other Monday before release), and I'm pretty sure those pages you found earlier in February will be used eventually too.

It goes both ways, though. Many blindly defend. Many criticize things that are completely unrelated. It's a bit of a mess, recently.

Again R* are giving me a hard time trying like V and O. Being so secret for 2 years only for minor graphical and performance boost upgrade. I swear why even try. Sam doesn’t care anymore just sulking up that money. It’s a very polished up turd. Once again us SP guys been left out again.

Oh yes definitely.. billions dollars company with enough man power if they want to.. and results is barely close to mods, which are done by players, fans with enough experience on their free time and, for free.

Might aswell have released it for free if it's just a preset update.

 

What's so Expanded and Enhanced about this? The only thing that was expanded is Strauss' bank account number, with all these predatory schemes that aim to milk money to the last drop. But don't worry, your funds will go to the budget of the next very incredibly funny Tiktok video that will be retweeted to heaven so that people forget about their scummy tactics because le relatable moment while modders get takedowns again.

 

Atleast the old version implemented some of the Online content in the base game. They could've done the same thing but for cars before the Doomsday update, where the timeline is set in the current day. Maybe even add in some other features like they did with those Peyotes.

 

And what's up with all these pictures having filters on them? It's as if they don't have any significant improvements at all. Hope this flops hard.

More seriously though. The fact no pricing was announced yet to me reads like T2 isn't very eager to flail it around so people start readying their wallets, so I'd wait before making any judgements. I don't think existing players will have to pay full price at all, that'd be ridiculous, but whether they have to pay at all or not is another story. They mention pre-loads but not pricing, so it almost sounds like it could be free for existing players? Lmao.
