Mister Pink
The Godfather is a getting a theatrical release towards the end of the month. It's going to be a 4K (UHD) cinema release. I think this is a great opportunity to see it on the big screen in a theatre. I will be seeing it so I can add to the list of some classic's I've seen in the cinema; American Psycho, Goodfellas, Terminator 2. It's releasing February 25th in my country. Will you go see it? Lonely-Martin
Nice to see it'll be at the pictures again, it's cool to see a retro re-release on the big screen but this time unfortunately I won't be going. To keep it short and sweet, about 3 hours around others I don't know would make the movie hard to concentrate on because reasons, anyway... I will be buying the fancy 50th anniversary 4k/blu ray box set though. Pre-ordered it a little while back, at 120 quid mind you, lol. But my TV and surround system are more than good enough to enjoy the trilogy again which I absolutely will. It's gonna have 3 versions of part 3 on there, including the original cinema for the first time on home video. I am a sucker for this sort of fancy collector's edition of my favourite movies. Looking forward to that arriving in March. But enjoy your trip there @Mister Pink. Mister Pink

It sold out at the at least 3 cinemas I tried and even the iMax was sold out in the cinema I went to but just settled for great seats in the non-Imax version. I left feeling elated. I love those experiences. Some films you just come out buzzing after the experience. I had a look at the box set and it looks like there is a lot of value in it, including the artwork. Let me know how it is when you get it. Nice addition to the collection! Voodoo 1 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

I miss that about the cinema and have since this whole pandemic began, just I unfortunately have to be cautious. But it's great that it was packed and you could enjoy it around as many fans as possible, an awesome way to enjoy a movie and to come out with that feeling of joy is always great news! My time at the pictures will come again, though we live in glorious times with how we can set ourselves up with our home entertainment systems these days and seeing all these fantastic classics (and some crazy lost gems) get the full treatment on a blu ray release bringing plenty to life again and finding new fans all the time of course. It's awesome. What I missed during lockdown I surely made up for at home though, not that the Mrs is too thankful, lol. Really looking forward to this 50th anniversary set to put among my ever growing collection. That book looks like it'll be real pleasant reading and even though the franchise has had some great releases before, this looks like the one to have at least until the 75th, he he. I'll surely get back to you once it arrives and will relish getting stuck in. Just talking about it makes me want to watch these again now, but I'll wait and have a bumper weekend that week. Well variety is nice and I'm going through another phase of feeling the magic of the cinema. I hear you about being cautious. However, I'm not sure what it's like on your side of the water but I find even the city centre screens are empty during the week. It's good to get out and catch a film in a mostly empty theatre - having the place to yourself. I've started phase one of organising my home situation. I got a new TV. Nothing super expensive but it's 4K and it's a huge bump from my old 10 year old HDTV. I'll eventually get a surround sound system too. Yeah the book looks great and some of photos in it look very curious. I'm curious to see what the 4K home edition is like. I remember watching some clips on YouTube and thinking the film is very grainy. In the cinema release it definitely retained a grainy look but it was much more cleaner. _______________________________________________________________ EDIT.. In anyone is interested there's a good chance The Godfather Part II is showing in a screen near you. Because if the 50th anniversary of the original, many theatres are showing Part II.
