Car not displayed in iFruit app

The iFruit app has had a few issues since the Tuners update. This thread is for the problem where some cars don't display in iFruit. I believe this is similar to the issue where the iFruit app crashes upon startup due to cars with the new Track wheels not being able to display in iFruit. The crashing is resolved by driving 10 older cars without the new wheels to ensure these are the ones that display in iFruit.

The typical experience is this. Drive a car, force a save, and verify it does display in iFruit. Go to LSC and modify the car by adding Track wheels and then force a save. Go back to iFruit and the car will not be displayed. Often the number of cars displayed will also be less than the expected 10.

Some users on here have indicated that changing the Track wheels back to a different wheel will make the car display in iFruit again. You might have to also drive 10 old cars, to "clear the cache" like with the crashing issue, for the car to display.

The simple fix has not been my solution and I've had cars not show up that never had Track wheels. My assumption is that there are modifications other than the Track wheels that make cars unfindable in iFruit. I assume the system works like this. R* tracks car modifications in a database. Most modifications can be found by iFruit because they follow standard naming conventions in the database and iFruit knows where modifications like Wheels:Sports or Bumpers:Front Bumpers are located in the database. Wheels:Track is new and iFruit doesn't know where to look for it. If iFruit can't find a car's modification it throws an error and does not display the car. If enough car files have errors then iFruit crashes on startup.

At this point, if removing Track wheels doesn't work, then I don't know if there is another fix short of just buying another version of the car. If you want your car to show in iFruit to color the stock wheels then my recommendation would be to force a save with the car active outside when you first get it before making any modifications. Verify it is in iFruit before making any modifications. Go to LSC and make the minimum modifications needed to decide what stock wheel color changes you would want. Then go back outside to force a save and go to iFruit to do the stock wheel color change. Hopefully the car will be there.

So just to clarify before I start f*cking around in GTA (I'm bored),

1. Your iFruit crashes

2. You've driven 10+ cars without track wheels and now iFruit loads

3. Pulling out a vehicle that HAS HAD track wheels but now has non-track wheels will crash iFruit still

?

Part of me wonders if iFruit is DOA, but part of me is eying E&E. I suspect the usage numbers are miniscule.

@Gridl0k after the 10+ cars iFruit doesn't crash. It just doesn't display cars that have had Track wheels before. FWIW I'm on PS4.

1. Your iFruit crashes

2. You've driven 10+ cars without track wheels and now iFruit loads

3. Pulling out a vehicle that HAS HAD track wheels but now has non-track wheels will crash iFruit still still allow iFruit to load, but the previous 10 cars that never had Track wheels will display and the car that HAS HAD Track wheels will not display.

Last night I messed around with my Growler to try to get it to show in iFruit. Did the 10+ car trick several times. Even reset every modification back to the top in their lists. Nothing I did could make the Growler display in iFruit.

I don't think it's an iFruit specific issue. Those cars also don't show on Social Club > GTA Online > Career > Garage. There are also cars that I've bought since the Tuners update (both new and old) that never displayed in iFruit. I think there is something on the car's file with R* that makes them unreadable by Social Club and iFruit. Social Club will display whatever cars it can, for example last night when I started it only displayed 4 cars instead of the usual 10. I think this is because 6 out of my last 10 driven cars were not readable by Social Club. If there are enough cars that iFruit can't read, then iFruit just crashes on startup. I've had iFruit display only 9 or 8 cars, but if too many are not readable then iFruit crashes and I need to do the 10+ car trick again.

I first noticed some of this behavior back when Turners was new and I wanted to put colored stock wheels on my Jester RR. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to show in iFruit. It was the first car I bought with Tuners, so of course I had tried out some Track wheels before settling on High End wheels. I bought a second Jester RR and was able to get it to show in iFruit by forcing a save the first time I drove it before I made any modifications at LSC.

I have a few ideas on what is causing the issue and I think it's more than just Track wheels because I have vehicles that never had Track wheels that don't display in iFruit. My thoughts are that it could be an issue with the property where the car is stored, or garage slots have become corrupted, or the car has become corrupted by making modifications at the newer locations (Auto Shop, LSCM, Agency), or the car has become corrupted by not forcing a save the first time you drive the car.

It won't work on E&E but on the older gen, if you drive 10 cars that do NOT have wheels from the new Track category, it should work fine.

It's never worked for me on Android, even before the track category. It's loads, freezes and crashes.

Ah right, I think I saw people saying it worked on older 'droids but not current ones, if you have a galaxy 4 in a drawer or something. Maybe bluestacks?

Works fine (excluding PS5/XS version) on a Samsung Galaxy A3, they are nice and cheap.

I finally figured out how to make my new cars appear in iFruit. When I first buy them, the car must be stored in an old style property such as an apartment, garage, or stilt house. If I store a car there it will show in iFruit as long as it doesn't have the new wheels from the Tuner's update.

I have it on iOS and it stopped working for me back in 2014. The app opens but it will not send any purchases to the actual game. Literally NOTHING I’ve ever read and tried has fixed it. Thankfully I made about 5 licenses that I like before it crashed.

This doesn't work 100%. I wasn't able to get a new Cypher to show in iFruit, but a new Warrener HKR did. I don't think the garage slot was bugged because I bought the Cypher first, sold it and then bought the Warrener and put it in the same slot. So either some cars are stubborn or getting the car data to R* just doesn't work sometimes.
