@GTA_Loco: I've already blown it up with the Rhino.

@Pdescobar: Um so do I have to destroy all the Cheetahs with the Rhino? Or can I just destroy one of them then push it to the garage? Does the Cheetah actually have to be flipped? Do I also have to fail the mission before I push the Cheetah in the garage or can I still pass the mission after getting the Cheetah?

@Pdescobar: Um so do I have to destroy all the Cheetahs with the Rhino? Or can I just destroy one of them then push it to the garage?

You only need to get one of them.

Does the Cheetah actually have to be flipped?

No. In fact when you push it with the tank, there's a good chance it'll roll quite a bit too. It's somewhat easier to control when on its roof, but as long as you get it into the garage, it doesn't matter whether it's flipped.

Do I also have to fail the mission before I push the Cheetah in the garage or can I still pass the mission after getting the Cheetah?

Hmm. Not sure on that one. You may need to fail the mission first; I wind up doing so, but I honestly don't recall if that's truly necessary. Here is my method:

Because I wanted to "legitimately" use the Rhino and because I had the Dead Skunk Manana occupying the Portland garage for the first part of the game, I couldn't collect the Turismo Cheetah until quite late. My method was to start the mission and show up with a Rhino from the EV crane. I just went full bore and bashed into one of the cheetahs before the race started, blowing it up and resulting in immediate mission failure. I rolled the Cheetah over toward the road to the hospital being careful to stop and back over any pursuing Triads. It is possible to either not be chased or to be able to outrun them, but if you see one, you want to try and back over him and then run over him again going forward if necessary, all the while keeping the wrecked car in view; getting jacked from the Tank can result in the car disappearing and you having to start over.

I then turned South and continued rolling it down past Greasy Joe's, around Callahan Point and back up the main highway along the West side. By staying on the left edge of the highway, partly on the grass, you should be far enough away from both the sidewalk and waterfront to avoid being hassled by any more Triads and also not have too difficult a time with traffic. Just slowly make your way back to the hideout, then cut across the road and push it into your garage.

If you do it with a spawned Rhino early enough in the game, you can take a shorter route since you won't have hostile gangmembers to avoid, but you'll still need a good deal of patience.

The only time that level of excess is required in GTA3 is recovering Phil's Rhino to have a legitimate one earlier in the game.

When you start Turismo, take your Rhino to your hideout and park it in the northbound side of the road, broadside perpendicular to the road, angled slightly back towards the back of your personal "alley". At least one of the racers when coming that way will hit the Rhino and be deflected back there. 9 times out of 10, they're stuck because the racing AI in GTA3 was not all that. Destroy it with the Rhino and begin to push it towards your garage. You don't need to fail or not first, but sometimes you can trap 2 and letting the last guy continue about makes sure the 2nd guy stays alive in case the first disappears.

Other than that, my only tip is that once you're lined up with the garage, push fast. Once it realizes there's 2 vehicles (your Rhino) there, it will try and close up. And if it closes without the Cheetah all but fully in there, the game will erase it. Otherwise, you'll have the sweetest legitimate vehicle in the game.

Yes, I believe it's necessary to fail the mission that's why it's preferable to blow up only one of the Cheetahs so that the rest can make it to the finish line and you'd subsequently lose the race and be able to restore the destroyed car. While the race is ongoing, no vehicle is repairable in the garage. If you blow up two of them, there's always a chance that the remaining car might stupidly not make it to the finish line and as far as I can recall, I always had to restart the race because it took forever for me waiting for the mission to fail. But if you blow up only one car, normally it'd take approximately 170 secs or a little less afterwhich you'd fail the mission once the other cars reach the finsh line, then you can repair the car in the garage.

Other aspects of obtaining it are clearly explained already by Dave and Demarest.

@Dave, interestingly, that light gray Dead Skunk Manana is a permanent exclusive color for the car and realized that you can't change it in Pay N Spray.

Sorry incase this info might be too late as you know I played this game very late as well blush.gif

OMG YES. THANK YOU SO MUCH. It worked! I was so joyful when I got it fixed. I did that line up the BP/FP/EP Cheetah thing plus I took that highway route(You know, that straight road that the Safehouse is at?) and I also changed the camera view to top down mode or whatever it's name is. Man, I wish that kind of camera view was in the other 3-D GTA games. I was also about to ask if I can get it resprayed and if it gets resprayed, it will lose it's special abilities? But I already found out. Which was a close one. Cause I wanted to make it black.

Oh yeah, um so if I use the Gameshark and use that vehicle in garage is a certain color cheat, I heard that it could make your special proofed vehicles disappear?

Accuracy Glitch

By using the M16's (army gun) manual aim the accuracy doesn't work as expected. Basically, shooting at an object like an exploded car you can make your accuracy up to anything (e.g. 2 million). Jump on the dead car and fire on the roof, you can't miss that way.

Orion_SR told me a couple of ways to get past the barricades in "III" I hadn't

heard before. I knew about jumping across the break in the Callahan Bridge,

getting across it using the using the code that makes cars fly, and, on PC,

giving percent submerged a -1 in handling.cfg and driving into the water below

the far side of the bridge.

He added you can drive a Yankee down into the subway in S Staunton, park on

the far side of the same raised platform, and have Claude get on the roof and

jump onto the roof over the tracks. You can also have Claude get into the

subway W of the stadium in Staunton to get the location on the radar, then go

back up to tip a Firetruck over the ledge and have Claude bail as it tips to

get onto the roof of the subway.

If you put his name in the search engine for Google video, you can see a batch of ways he has to do that for LCS, too.

Does jumping from one broken rail to the other on the Callahan Bridge work on the PS2 version? And does being in Staunton early do anything to your game (glitches?)?

What do you mean by yes and no? After watching the video there don't appear to be any glitches so what do you mean?

CHEATS DO NOT PREVENT OBTAINING 100% COMPLETION STATISTICS. IT IS HOWEVER NOT ADVISED TO SAVE AFTER USING CHEATS AS SOME CANNOT BE TURNED OFF AND MAY HAVE OTHER DETRIMENTAL EFFECTS ON GAMEPLAY. IGNORANCE/DISAGREEMENT TO TO THIS FACT WILL LEAVE YOU LOOKING LIKE A FREAKING IDIOT.

PC Cheats

NB: These cheats can be entered at the pause menu. Hit ESC and type them in to avoid any unwanted functions from key-presses.

Cheat Code Effect
ANICESETOFWHEELS Make all vehicles completely see through except for their wheels. You can still see the people driving it, so it's kind of freaky. Funny animations though. Good luck guessing what car you're jacking.
BANGBANGBANG Blows up all vehicles in the computer's memory. This includes any mission specific cars like 8Ball's Kuruma in the beginning. This means it can be dangerous. It can also be an ultra-blessing. With this, you can pass missions such as Pump-Action Pimp, Farewell Chunky Lee Chong, Taking Out The Laundry, Bling-Bling Scramble, Paparazzi Purge, Two-Faced Tanner, Silence The Sneak, Gone Fishing, and Vigilante with dramatically increased ease.
CHITTYCHITTYBB Vehicles behave like Dodos to a certain extent. Cars feel like they float. While in air, you can use rudder-like commands to half-way steer. Can be used in conjunction with CORNERSLIKEMAD to span long distances like the destroyed Callahan bridge for example.
CORNERSLIKEMAD All vehicles experience incredibly accurate steering with no traction loss or sliding. Also, pressing horn makes your car jump. Use this in conjunction with CHITTYCHITTYBB to span even longer distances with your jumps.
GESUNDHEIT Completely heals you. If you're in a car, it completely heals your car too. This can be very handy during missions where you need to stay in the same vehicle such as Paramedic, Taxi Driver, the off-road missions, Big N Veiny, Salvatore's Called A Meeting, Waka-Gashira Wipeout, and Marked Man.
GIVEUSATANK Spawns a Rhino nearby. The game treats Rhinos made in this way differently from any other vehicle in the game. It almost never forgets them even when you save. If you spawn a lot of them this way, the game will focus so much on them that it will not spawn regular traffic or will at a greatly reduced number. This is referred to as the multiple tank cheat. You can clear the streets this way for missions where you need empty roads like Turismo. Also makes it so that law enforcement has a harder time tracking you due to lack of vehicles. Use BANGBANGBANG to erase the tanks from memory.
GUNSGUNSGUNS Gives you each weapon in the game. Great when you just feel like goofing off. If you keep typing GUNS, it will count as the full cheat entered starting with the 3rd time. Just in case the normal amount of ammo isn't good enough for you.
IFIWEREARICHMAN Gives you $250g. Money is almost irrelevant in GTA3, so this is really no big deal.
ILIKEDRESSINGUP Changes you to another random ped in the game. Using this, you can play as anybody. You just might have to take some time since it is totally random.
ILIKESCOTLAND Changes the weather to fog level 1.
ILOVESCOTLAND Changes the weather to fog level 1 and makes it rain.
ITSALLGOINGMAAAD WARNING: THIS CHEAT IS IRREVERSIBLE. DO NOT SAVE WITH THIS CHEAT ENABLED OR IT ALWAYS WILL BE IN THE GAME. Makes all the peds attack the nearest person. Pretty funny to watch and challenging to try to play the game through with. For added fun, also use WEAPONSFORALL.
MADWEATHER Makes the time of day fly by. Useful for getting to times when Marty or Joey are available or to jump start Sayonara Salvatore.
MOREPOLICEPLEASE Raises your wanted level by 2 stars. Cannot exceed limitations of 4 stars on Portland, 5 in Staunton, and 6 in SSV. Can be useful if you want to ensnare an FBI Car, Rhino, or Barracks OL.
NOBODYLIKESME WARNING: THIS CHEAT IS IRREVERSIBLE. DO NOT SAVE WITH THIS CHEAT ENABLED OR IT ALWAYS WILL BE IN THE GAME. Makes all peds want to kill you. Useless cheat unless you're looking for a way to make the game a LOT more challenging.
CANTSEEATHING Foggy Weather
NOPOLICEPLEASE Resets your wanted level to 0. Very handy code indeed. Cannot be used to override mandatory wanted level in Decoy.
PEASOUP Sets the weather to fog level 3.
SKINCANCERFORME Resets wether to sunny and clear. Very useful if you're on a driving mission and it starts raining.
TIMEFLIESWHENYOU Speeds up the game speed. This is not cumulative like in the PS2 version. Nor is it reversible until you load after a save.
TURTOISE Sets your armor level to 100. Almost as useful as GESUNDHEIT. It is rumored that if you have the 1.1 patch installed that the code becomes TORTOISE. I've tried this and have not seen it work.
WEAPONSFORALL Gives all peds weapons. If you then kill them, you can just take their weapons. Can make the game interesting.
Special thanks to Demarest for the cheat descriptions. Be sure to visit his GTAIII website!

Bus

Can be most commonly found in the Aspatria/Rockford vicinities on Staunton island. It can also be found in the Chinatown vicinity in Portland.

FBI

The only way to obtain one of these vehicles is to reach a wanted level of 5 stars. Afterwards, FBI agents will begin to chase you in black Kurumas. Be very careful when trying to car-jack one of these, as each FBI carries 4 heavily armed agents.

Flatbed

Can be most commonly found in the Aspatria/Rockford vicinities on Staunton island. It can also be found in the Chinatown vicinity in Portland.

Mr. Whoopee

Can only be found in the Cedar Grove vicinity in Shoreside Vale. Usually driving a Moonbeam will make it appear.

RC Car

Can only be driven when you enter a "Toyz" van. They are used as bombcars for gangcar destruction games.

Hoods Rumpo XL

Can easily be found in the Wichita Gardens vicinity in Shoreside Vale.

Securicar

Can most commonly be found in any district on Staunton Island. There is no sure way to make them appear.

Diablo Stallion

Can easily be found in the Hepburn Heights vicinity in Portland.

Stretch

Can be found in any district on both Staunton and Shoreside Vale. Usually appears if you drive around in a rare vehicle like an Infernus or Cheetah.

Trashmaster

Can be found most commonly in any district on Staunton Island. It can also be found in various districts on Portland Island.

Yardie Lobo

Can easily be found in the Newport vicinity on Staunton Island.

BP/DP/EP/FP V E H I C L E S

KEY:

BP = Bullet Proof (Bullets will not damage vheicle.)

DP = Damage Proof (Doesn't damage out, doesn't take appearance damage.)

EP = Explosion Proof (Grenades/Rockets/Explosions will not damage vehicle.)

FP = Flame Proof (Molotovs, Flamethrower will not damage vehicle.)

BARRACKS OL

Can be obtained when playing the "Arms Shortage" mission from Ray. During

the mission, the vehicle will be BP. It will be normal before and after the

mission.

BOBCAT

You can obtain a BP/EP/FP Bobcat in the "Evidence Dash" mission from Ray.

During the mission, the Bobcat that has the mission packages is BP/EP/FP.

Flip the Bobcat over then push it to your hideout. Don't worry about the

rest of the packages, as the game will generate another bobcat in town.

CHEETAH

You can obtain a BP/EP/FP Cheetah in the "Turismo" mission from El Burro.

During the race, flip over one of the cheetahs than push it to your garage.

(Special thanks to King_Vensfield of the Gamefaq community.)

PATRIOT

You will obtain a BP Patriot after completing the "Marked Man" mission from

Ray.

SECURICAR

You can obtain a BP securicar in the "Van Heist" mission from Joey Leone.

After damaging the vehicle, drive it to your hideout, and blow it up in your

garage.

SECURICAR

You can obtain an EP securicar in the "Escort Service" mission from Donald

Love. Shoot the vehicle to blow it up, then push it to your garage.

STRETCH

You can obtain a BP/DP/EP/FP Stretch in the "Salvatores called a meeting"

from Toni. Once you visit Toni, then head to Joeys but DON'T go into the

blue field. Instead, park a vehicle near the wall on the side of the

building, then enter the speed-up cheat code, then run between the vehicle

and the wall, this will cause you to walk-through the wall. Then enter the

Stretch and backup into the blue field, the vehicle will regerate.

Afterwards, drive it to your Staunton hideout by flying over the Callahan

bridge. Head to 8-Ball's bombshop, rig the car with a timer bomb, then

activate the car-bomb in your garage and leave, don't let the door shut!

After the vehicle explodes, walk out letting the door shut, so the vehicle

regenerates.

TRASHMASTER (unofficial)

You can obtain a BP Trashmaster in the "Blow fish" mission from Toni.

Once you jack it in Harwood, try to fly over the Callahan bridge, than

place it in your garage. There is a timer, so time is of the essence.

(d) O N E - T I M E - O N L Y V E H I C L E S

MAFIA LIMOUSINE

You will only see this vehicle in the "Salvatore has called a meeting" and

"Drive Maria for me" missions. The Stretch limousine comes in solid black.

These are the only times you will see this particular color for the Stretch.

Colors for the original Stretch include; White, Grey, and Dark Grey.

MAFIA RUMPO

The only time this vehicle will ever show it's face in the streets of Liberty

City is in the "Under Surveillance" mission from Asuka. The Rumpo is black

and is parked in the Bedford Point district. To obtain this vehicle, simply

drive up to it, get out of your vehicle. The mafia will do the same, shoot

them then jack their Rumpo.

MARTY CHONK'S SENTINEL

Nothing special about this vehicle, but if you immediately run from the

vehicle after hitting triangle to get out, the door won't shut, and you can

get back in. After getting back in, the doors will lock. It's sorta funny

watching the cops, thieves, or even hookers trying to open the locked doors.

DEAD SKUNK IN TRUNK MANANA

You will see this vehicle in the "Dead Skunk in the trunk" mission from Joey

Leone. The objective is to jack a Manana near Greasy Joey's Cafe with a

dead body in the trunk. Upon jacking the car, two Forelli brother's

Sentinels will chase you. You'll only see this car during this mission.

GHOST MISSING

Not a vehicle I recommend putting in your garage, but in a mission from Ray,

the objective is to murder a fellow cop. He will be near the Lighthouse in

Portland in a blue-greenish boat called "Ghost Missing". The vehicle is

identical to the "Reefer", only there is no interior.

D-ICE'S INFERNUS

Pretty much the same as Marty's Sentinel. After the mission is complete,

just run from the vehicle when exiting, so the door doesn't shut, then hop

back in. The doors will lock, and noone can open them, not even cops.

QUESTION:

Where can I find a full-wing dodo? I saw one flying in the sky, can I shoot

it down and boost it? What about the full-wing Dodo that lands on the

Francis Intl Airport runway in one of Asuka's missions?

ANSWER:

The full-wing Dodo is not available as a player vehicle, consider yourself

lucky that Rockstar even gave us the clipped Dodo after the terrorist

attacks. The Dodo flying in the sky can be shot down, you can even fly

through it if you mastered flying the clipped Dodo. After you blowup the

Dodo in one of Asuka's missions, the damage model is of the clipped Dodo.

Another thing to keep in mind, a full-wing Dodo would be far to large

to fit in any of your garages, so there's no point in having it in the game.

QUESTION:

Where is the Maibotsu Monstrosity, it has to exist. They even have a picture

of it on their website and in the instruction manual. There's even

advertisement ads about it in the GTA3 radio stations!

ANSWER:

Sorry, doesn't exist. Many lamers on GTA3 messages boards claim to have

found it, but those claimees are usually kids that haven't reached puberty

and their brains haven't begun to function properly. The vehicle in the

instruction manual is actually the "Landstalker". The website picture is

nothing more than a toy RC car with "Monstrosity" written on the side.

QUESTION:

Where can I find an Esperanto with front-wheel Hydraulics? I saw a video

clip of it at Gamespot.

ANSWER:

Another vehicle that doesn't exist or at least not in the final version of

GTA3. This vehicle was in the beta version of GTA3, but was removed from the

final. My best guess is, that it was decided to leave the Esperanto as a

normal vehicle, and create a gang-car with all wheel hydraulics, thus, the

Yardie Lobo.

QUESTION:

Where's the white Banshee? In the GTA3 commercials, it show's a white

Banshee jumping the El-train Walkway in Portland.

ANSWER:

Actually, it looked like a white Yakuza Stinger. Because the body model was

the Stinger, but it had a spoiler, in which only the Yakuza gang-cars have

them. This was probably a beta edition of the Stinger, which not only a

white paint scheme, but also a spoiler on the trunk lid.

In the instruction manual, it shows pictures of blue and white Police cars.

How come the ones in-game are black and white?

QUESTION:

Liberty City was supposed to be based off of New York City, so the Police

cars were originally painted with NYC style paint schemes. However, after

the Terrorist Attack in NYC, Rockstar thought it would be in their best

interest to give them the traditional black and white paint schemes. The

vehicles still have Vector light bars though.

Where can I find the BF Injection? I went to Hepburn Heights, but it wasn't

anywhere in site.

Inorder for the BF Injection, which is just a Dune Buggy, to showup, you

must have completed the "Sayanora Salvatore" mission from Asuka. Then the

QUESTION:

I've heard rumors about a lightless taxi (Has no light on roof). Does it

really exist?

ANSWER:

Yes it does! There have been several unedited proof screen captures of this

mysterious vehicle, even AlienLX obtained one. Alot of people think we are

mistaking it for a yellow Sentinel, but come on you guys. Any idiot could

tell the difference between the Sentinel and Taxi.

QUESTION:

Can I fly the Helicopters?

ANSWER:

No! They are merely decoration to the game. If you were allowed to pilot

them, don't you think they would have interiors and officers inside of them

instead of being a solid object like it is?..

mercie_blink.gif hi guys&gals.

After a few yrs absence from this game, I just re-started playing GTA3, only this time i want to try some cheats, just for fun.

I remember some yrs ago, i tried the "cars drive on water" cheat, but i can't seem to find it anywhere (not the flying cars cheat) dozingoff.gif I'm sure it's there somewhere, because, i clearly remember using a Sentinel and i remember well, when the car hit the water (off pier under Callahan Bridge) the wheels turned orizontally. It was funny... biggrin.gif

So, i ask....... please, where is that darn cheat?? anuj_cop.gif TY. (for PS2)

I believe that was actually part of GTA Vice City you're thinking of. If it was definitely GTA3, it might have been the GTA:LC mod as the original GTA3 doesn't have any program code for the 'drive on water' cheat. The Liberty City mod is PC only unfortunately.
