Its kinda embarrassing how much of a goldfish memory a portion of the Rockstar fanbase seems to have, they kept shatting on the fanbase's head for years but then announce a new shine toy and all is completely forgiven.

Whats really sad thing from me side, that Im not interested anymore. Probably if it will be good, I give it a spin after dense evaluation.

 

But rockstar, three strikes and you are out for me...

 

First strike modders, second GTA V e&e and third, yes trilogy... Also you secretly hate players ... So thats it...

Yeah then everyone would (rightfully) scream that none of what was shown was in the game, not even referenced. CGI trailers are a pretty bad practice IMO.

with tes6 at least a vague idea of the setting was left in the air, the tes community, especially the lore fanatics already have some clues about the location

 

say rockstar made a 5 second gif with a beach picture with this announcement, everyone would knows it's vice city

Technically it is not an announcement. It feels more like an awkward attempt of acknowledging the demands of the community, since most of the fans are upset with the re-rerelase of GTA V, The Trilogy etc.

With the way this was announced, this is clearly a marketing move to cover-up all the bad PR they were getting with Trilogy DE, RDO, E&E and not everyone is dumb enough to fall for it.

How many times we have to explain that GTA The Trilogy wasn't developed by Rockstar Games, it was outsourced to another company and such company have been doing these poor quality remasters of older GTA games for years now, having nothing to do with Rockstar Games main titles being a success, such as GTA 5 and RDR2.

I should be excited for GTA 6, but I'm not. Almost ten years of milking Online dry and shafting the RDR2 fanbase and now Rockstar has somehow won back everyone's hearts just by saying "Yeah, we're making that game you want."

 

The Trilogy isn't even three months old and everybody is already excited and slobbering all over this. "Rockstar is back!! GTA 6 will be even more amazing than V!!" I knew this was going to happen, The Trilogy gets rightfully mocked and E&E still looks like trash with no new improvements yet all it takes for Rockstar to be heroes again is a GTA6 announcement. All sins are forgiven. 

Gamers really do have the memory of a goldfish it seems. No wonder companies like Ubisoft pump out the same thing every year when people are this easily pleased.
