So they confirm, that Trilogy wont get any additional updates.

Wise move for Rockstar to confirm GTA VI is happening before releasing this game. I can now 'happily' play it, while waiting for GTA VI news, knowing that yes, it is indeed coming soon.

Looks exciting...not. I have to ask, what the hell they were doing for the last 2 years?

The same exact original textures... are you kidding. I can't believe this. *sigh*

Just saying, but I'm pretty sure the consoles don't call it RTX, since that's an NVIDIA thing and they use AMD.

Who wants to bet PC users are never going to receive any of E&E's additions? :kekw: (It would have been helpful to showcase things like the ray-tracing in your screenshots, R*, because what you've posted doesn't look different from the PC version.) I am pleasantly surprised with the confirmation of 60FPS, though. There would have been no excuse not to have it, given how much more powerful the CPUs in the PS5 and Series X|S are compared to their 7th and 8th gen counterparts.

Honestly, the only thing that got me (very) cautiously optimistic is the official announcement of VI being in development. Yeah, I know it's very much a "no sh*t!" thing to say at this point (since their last brand new game was released 3 years ago), but it hits different when Rockstar (a company notorious for its silence) actually acknowledges it.

Fair point, I've adjusted the title to show it's only confirmed for consoles so far.

I have a feeling PC is also going to get some of those additions, as once again it looks like it's mostly back-end changes and some graphics upgrades. I mean, the PC version of the Contract has E&E stuff all over the files, including references to a new Gen9Frontend (new GTAO menu), just remains to be seen when.

I'm sure they'll be showing more screenshots, wanna see it in motion and some more cinematic screens so they can actually show off the ray tracing bits (remember that not only light can be ray traced, shadows too, might not be everything).

It's not a remake/actual remaster y'all lmao.

So textures from the PC version and minor improvements here and there, FSR or whatever they can run on the consoles with amd hardware. Bet it will still use the same p2p infrastructure. Very nice R*.
Atleast there is VI at some point.

GTA 6, apparently. The 2015 re-release was so soon after the original that they were still invested in making it be, for lack of a better term, the definitive edition. The goal of 2022's re-release is now clear, to get the game running natively and without unnecessary constraints on current consoles, and to continue to expand GTA Online. While they used 2015 to push the design of GTAV a little further, now such energy goes to GTA 6.

When they talk about the graphical improvements they're comparing it to last gen consoles and not PC.

Boy, I hope so. Though as a modder, this whole thing is like walking on eggshells. I'm asking myself, if they do update it, will it be day and date, or will it come at some point after the console release? Will it be free or paid? If it's paid, will it be exclusive to their sh*tty launcher? And how much would this update f*ck with existing mods/scripts? Would it just be like a normal GTA V update, just with graphical improvements? Rockstar is the sort of company that really prompts a lot of these questions lol.

If we do this would likely mean an API change too (e.g. DX12) which would already help with performance even in higher end PC's tbh. DXR (not RTX, different things) only supports DX12, so if ray tracing is coming to PC, it can't be DX11 afaik.

To be honest, I actually think V looks great with Auto HDR on Windows 11 and Series X|S. Certainly better than RDR2's botched implementation (even with the Game mode option they added later). It would be nice to have it as an official option on PC, though.

IMPROVED TEXTURES / RAY TRACING
exactly same textures as in ehanced edition for all platforms.
and absolutly no ray tracing presented in trailer beside graphical bugs (two chairs Lester, missing building, yellow license plates, no reflection on mirrors and windows)
only difference will be that quick protagonist changing  :prismkek:

About ray-tracing - maybe I'm wrong but I think there is a real reflection in the eyes of guy with tatoos
