What are the origins of these sounds? - GTA 3

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

Just like I stated in the title, could someone tell me from where came these two sounds? If you can, please provide the name of those sound effects used.

First sound ->https://youtu.be/68BtXs9lhJI

Second sound ->https://youtu.be/Vt2IuJF5EoM

Interestingly, the second sound was used in some songs, i.e. T.Y. - JAMAICAN RUM 2

Its “took my love” by bizarre link. It’s the song that SHES HOMELESS song sampled that that FLOATING WAVES song sampled and apparently that GUIMBARDE BLUES song sampled that somewhere too? f*ck this I’m gonna smoke some crack in front of the 7-eleven

Yeah I believe Bizzare Link is the original and all the others are sampled from there. The interesting thing about the Tribal Hybrid Concept album is that the 2 sounds sampled for ambient music in gta3 off this album are themselves sampled from elsewhere (I can't find the original Keep Up Berlin sample).. It could be just be a super weird coincidence but I think its a pretty strong link. The album came out in 2000 as well, I could imagine some R* employee picking the CD out of a bargain bin for a couple bucks and thinking if he distorted the samples enough no one would ever make the connection. He did pretty well seeing as no one did for 21 years.

If I could find where the weird ambient sample that played while Donald love was stroking his own dick on CHATTERBOX my life will be complete

This is a great find. But I still don't understand how you came up with it so quickly and how you knew what to look for. 🤷‍♂️ What was your clue in the search for "keep up Berlin"? 🤔

Damn, the drum roll at the beginning (or whatever it's called) just sounds like "Testing - My Tiny World" from GTA 2.

But maybe that's just coincidence and I have no idea about music production.

EDIT: Wait, wtf.. @unopescio* sry you actually cracked the code! A lot of these samples can be heard in GTA 2 radio soundtracks.

keep up berlin: at 0:05 you can hear a sample that's also used (or based idk) here:
