Btw how does the security and secrecy work at rockstar games? I heard they arent allowed to take phones in their work space and even sensors on the monitors that shuts down the pc when it detects a camera?

Being honest, they sure hand over their cell phones or use many methods since Rockstar doesn't like someone to leak something.
it's bad and a lot for them
I understand that they do these kinds of things
or be discreet

I don't really feel like Rockstar will show us anything about GTA VI this year ... I feel like Summer 2023 onwards is a better chance but we'll see.

Is there any logical reason that prevents Rockstar to reveal GTA VI? No updates for RDO, small sized GTAO updates, shelved remasters (GTA IV, RDR, RDR2). I mean, there is nothing on the horizon other than GTA VI. Why does the GTA VI announcement always have to happen year after the ongoing year? You guys telling the same thing over and over again without a reason.

Same reasons a chef serves the food at the time he does. When it's ready to be served.

But also financial stuff, starting or ending fiscal quarters or years well, among other reasons.

Of course, it will be announced when it's ready. However, some believe the announcement will never happen. Those who said 2022 last year will say 2023 this year and 2024 next year. No doubt.

Key Points from Take-Two Financial Report

Posted by @Kirsty at 02:00. Category: General

Take-Two Interactive today revealed their first quarter earnings for fiscal year 2012. Of course, Grand Theft Auto V was not announced, but some interesting points for their future were raised and questioned.

Statements included that they have some unannounced titles for release during the next fiscal year that we will hear about in the "coming months". A particular statement, repeated from the last financial report, was that they expect to exceed a net income of $2 per share in fiscal year 2013 (April 2012 -€“ March 2013).

Following the report, during a Q&A; session, an attendee questioned how they expect to reach such a maximum without a GTA release that year. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of T2, evaded the question and diverted his answer to titles they have already announced for release that year such as BioShock Infinite and Borderlands 2.

To put these numbers in perspective, the last time T2 did reach such an income is during the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, in which they recorded $2.08 per share. In comparison, income reached $1.06 per share during the release of Red Dead Redemption and is projected to reach up to $0.35 for the current fiscal year, where LA Noire and Duke Nukem Forever have been their main new titles.

It is safe to say that the statement by T2 encourages shareholders to expect something big, or at least a high earner, during fiscal 2013. While we are not all accountants, the numbers are clear for us to draw out some speculation about a release date, and 2012-2013 has always been plausible amongst the community.

What I said then, almost 2 years ago, is still true...

I suspect that within a few months of GTA VI's announcement, we may have some clues it's going to happen. I was fairly quiet back in 2016, but I remember it being a little similar for RDR2. I distinctly remember playing RDR1 when it was made available on X1 while watching a Star Wars Celebration live stream, and all the speculation about a Red Dead sequel happening at the time.

We could get some interesting insight in August, on a potential incoming GTA VI announcement. Stay tuned!

By desperate fans with no logic, but constantly looking at the next thing or event. This is different. I've been saying October 2022 was the likeliest date for an announcement since February 2019. October 2021 at the earliest, but that was before COVID-19.

If there is an announcement in October, like we have suspected for years, then it's possible, not definitive, that we may discover some clues at this call.

Btw, "Stay tuned!" was said in jest at those that read in to those words, by Rockstar waaay to much :kekw:

Speaking of adorable ... has anybody seen our little fella Gta6 Fan (or whatever his name was) lately? Feels like I haven't seen him in ages!

Not having his likes on my posts really tanks my statistic :cringekek:

I mean we might need to take a look at revenue or expenses rising up in the fiscal documents but when i mean rising up i mean like going from --- to ^^^^ level, something thay may confirms an announcement (so shares going up) or a planned release meaning a lof of money for marketing purposes but hey 8/8 August is not that far away

This is potentially (80% for me) the latest earnings call before GTA VI announcement. I agree with you, we could get some clues in this call.

On the other hand, Rockstar may want to wait until they're super ready, without any crunch before they announce the game. We could end up waiting until late winter/early spring next year, for an announcement. But that feels unlikely. But you never know.

Rockstar does tend to reveal their next big thing right before a Take Two earnings call.

It could be this August, or it could be this October too, since Take Two's Q2 2023 call will be scheduled for early November, and so on.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling they wouldn't have officially acknowledged the next GTA as early as Feb 2022 if that was the case.

Yeah, I agree. I'm just being sensible. Ever since COVID-19, everything has been open to any kind of delay or became unpredictable. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they announce it in February, though. Think of it like GTA V being announced, with a trailer, and then practically hearing nothing for 12 months. February could have been the 'announcement' just without the trailer, title or any official info, right?

But October is the solid bet.

We're seeing very early announcements/acknowledgements of big AAA games right now in an attempt to attract new developers due to the exodus of talent in the industry, so R*'s announcement of the next GTA being in development could be another one of those.

That being said personally I think a reveal this year is likely, with release for Q4 2023... and then it'll finally release in 2024 as is tradition.

For me it will be October or near it like September / November but once again like R* always does, nobody will know when and once it will happen it will either be a day where everybody doesn't expect anything (talking about RDR2 teaser on a sunday in 2016) i mean who expected them to post about the GTAO  update, RDO being well RDO and GTA Next, i sure didn't expect this just like i hadn't expected the February "announcemment"

Did rockstar reveal any games in August or July?

Agent was first teased in July 2007, before being officially announced in June 2009.

I'm not entirely sure when other IP's were announced, though. Although it's been brought up numerous times, here.

R* announced RDR 2 3 years after GTA V came out

October 2022 will be approaching 4 years since RDR 2 came out, sounds like a time for the announcement
