In other words (imo) this could mean they release it late 2024 officially, but still "r*-delay" it to 2025, if thats the case i really cant see them talking about gta-next in 2022, trailer/announcement 2023

I'm glad they aren't remaking RDR1 if they were using that team, it would've been another unpolished shambles

I mostly agree, but there's a stark contrast between that situation and the one we have in hand now. Both GTAIV and GTAV were made for the same consoles from 2005-'06, but VI will be made for systems from 2020. 15 years is an eternity in tech years, basically two generations worth of improvements in hardware and developer tools. GTAVI should handily outclass GTAV technically, just for this reason alone.

 

A better comparison would be the technical leap from RDR1 to RDR2. RDR1 was developed primarily by R* San Diego whereas GTAV was by R* North. RDR2 was a global Rockstar Studios production and so will be GTAVI. Just like RDR1 and RDR2, GTAVI and RDR2 will have a generational gulf between their respective target consoles. Rockstar is also a much bigger company now, so it's not really a 1:1 comparison. Since many things do depend on design goals, I don't expect it to beat RDR2 on every level, but overall, GTAVI should surpass it technically, courtesy to the significantly more powerful hardware it's being built on.

I am still wondering who had the idea to let Groove street games making the complete remaster instead of just doing the mobile port after a another studio finished the remaster, but i guess Rockstar dundee was busy working on Gta 5 e&e at the time

Shame about RDR, no doubt. A remake was the right thing to do, but I guess what it all means is that they did go all-in on GTA VI. Can't wait for October. I can practically smell the steak from miles away. It is so... realistic. The juices, the texture so delicately defined by the awe-inspiring technology of the brand new RAGE engine...

I can't wait to see who GTA VI's "balcony guy" is. Although as I mentioned before I'm expecting we'll be seeing a much more polished version of GTA VI in the first trailer than we did GTA V.

I think that by now Michael is actually pushing 60. I think he was supposed to be 48 or 49 when the game came out.

You know what though? i wouldn't actually like that. There'd be very little time to really savour it and enjoy it. Part of what made GTA V so special was the long wait, and the mapping thread which took up a lot of time. I feel like if they did a Fallout 4, it'd go over way too fast and we wouldn't really get to have our fun with it.

By the way, is it just me or maybe even Fallout 4 had more interesting presentation than Starfield? It's like Todd got older and even he's not able to come up with that much of bullsh*t.

Confidence. Fallout 4 had clearly been in development for a very long time when he announced it, the game looked pretty much finished. In 2013 I recall there was some kind of Fallout-like story leak mentioning The Institute (which did end up appearing in FO4) but it was never confirmed until FO4 released, so they definitely were at it for a long time.

 

Fast forward not too long and look at how Todd presented Fallout 76...

in 2018 they announced 3 games  Although, aside from Fallout 76, BGS fans knew about Starfield & TESVI was as obvious and a given like GT A6 & 7 are.
