GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 6]

The gap between GTA V and GTA VI will be ~ 11 years by the time the latter comes out; the same number of years that separated the original Vice City and the very same GTA V. Crazy to even think about it. At this point, I wonder if we're underestimating the capabilities of current gen consoles since a game that would be able to properly express their potential has yet to come out.

For me, the value of R* games is that they are able to create really impressive new characters completely from scratch. This is what makes them unique in this industry, they always move forward and do not stay in the past.

Games like Tomb Rider, Halo, etc, get stuck in their past glory and don't move forward.

One has to wonder how did they manage to secure secrecy in terms on the new casting calls....

Unless they still haven't cast the secondary characters??

Edit: @Zello lol man :kekw: :kekw:

One thing we all can say about GTA online is that rockstar has been able to try out so much stuff and they definitely have mastered heists through online for example Casino and Cayo Perico heists improved so much of singleplayer gameplay wise , now imagine what they can do with gta vi with missions like that .

One way is with a proxy company make them interviews, castings, give scripts for an unknown project (GTA6), and they won't even know it's GTA6 until the very last moment.

Honestly, going back to the setting: as long as they capture that true Miami feeling, the atmosphere - I don't care what time it's set in. Just make it feel different from V.

V just lacked that: atmosphere. It always felt very bland and that's probably why I disliked the idea of another modern setting.

f*ck, I really want to start watching Miami Vice again. It's been soooo long...

I'll be saving that for near release. I went through a bunch of westerns a month or so before Red Dead 2 came out.

Would love to see something like this again, however related to the new GTA:

It felt like Southern California(plus the desert), no more, no less. If you didn't like it, that means you're at odds with the real-life Cali vibe in general, because this is exactly what Rockstar were going for with V.

Clicking options in an menu and "hacking" gameplay is just so dull

I don't need a crime game for simulating scrolling through a smartphone or spending too much time on a computer  :fartkek:

Sadly No one has done Miami like Rockstar and thats a shame and only good Miami releated thing that looked good was Cod Cold war map Miami which looked really good ,

Crew 2 = Miami is completely dead

Nfs Heat = Nothing New

Rockstar always captures the vibe of the city and hopefully we get a Cuban / Columbian protagonist this time .

Hitman 2 had a Miami and Colombia levels which had great atmosphere. While playing the game I was thinking: "I want to see it in the next GTA"

Maybe I am, I don't know. Maybe it's that after 9 years I feel absolutely nothing but boredom when I'm roaming around Los Santos.

So I'm probably not the best person to give a neutral opinion on it.

I actually loved Los Santos in the beginning. Finally some mountains, fields etc again. But over the years I've noticed all of its flaws. That the mountains are useless, there's no reason to explore them and that there's not much to do on the map anymore without having enterable buildings.

Or that Los Santos just doesn't work for me as the only major city. It's like putting Ed Helms as the lead actor. He's great as the sidekick but he can't carry an entire movie on his own.

I'm not trying to hate here, but when you're stuck in the same place for 9 years there are things that annoy you about it. Although I do rarely play anymore, it's still bothering me.

Do any of you think the concept of being able to buy different types of ammunition for your weapons like in RDR2 should be implemented in the next GTA game? Or should we just stick to one type of standard ammunition for each gun like GTA has always done? I kinda like the idea of shopping for some better ammo along with guns, like deciding if I wanna go with standard ammo to save money or spend a little more on hollow points or something like that??

That's the problem there are like very very few recent games released in the past 10 years set in Miami. There are like no GTA clone open worlds just a few car racing focused only games and no we don't care about those racing games nobody wants to play dat sh*t :kekw:. After Driver 3 flopped there was the Scarface game in 2006 and then that was it (Godfather II had Florida but didn't mention Miami and it didn't look like Miami EA did a terrible job with that game). It's like the rest of the video game industry decided not to make GTA clones in Miami set in any period out of respect to Rockstar it's like an unwritten rule :sadkek:

You'd think that there'd be more games set in Miami a lot of people played Vice City and it's influenced a lot of game developers. Hell it even influenced the whole Synthwave movement.

Just a reminder

"here are many ways ray tracing can be implemented in games, from reflections to shadows, lighting (global illumination), ambient occlusion, caustics, and even full scene path tracing. And each type has unique performance requirements."

https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/news/geforce-gtx-dxr-ray-tracing-available-now/#:~:text=There are many ways ray, type has unique performance requirements.

With what I saw in RDR2's Saint Denis on PC Ultra Settings, I can honestly say GTA Vice / VI doesn't need any kind of Ray Tracing! R* is next level of everything! They shouldn't waste hardware resources on RT! but maybe... Reflection Ray Tracing can help the streets of Vice City to look glorious in nights and rainy days/nights + Car mirrors + ...!!

GTA 5's new version will use Ray Tracing, so every other new Rockstar game will have it too, unless it's a mobile game or something like that. Also, RDR2's reflections aren't perfect, you can see them ending near the borders of the screen, so Ray Tracing would probably fix this issue, among other benefits.
