Another way is this one: A few months ago Dan Houser was in a book podcast of an old friend of him. He made a list with his favourite books. Some names ring a bell regarding RDR2 (Jones might be a coincidence since it's a common name):

I'll give you Bronte from those three lol. But Arthur's name imo is clearly inspired by the Arthurian legend. His full name is a cross between King Arthur and Morgana le Fay, the hero figure and the morally grey figure, which symbolises his internal struggle throughout the game, hence Arthur Morgan. They even referenced Arthurian legend multiple times in the game.

Right now, for me, this game is the best example of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in any game I've played.

You can feel the pitter patter of raindrops and sprinkler systems. You can feel the individual change in road quality. You can feel the vibrations of driving over grating. You can feel every curb and pothole. You can feel the whoosh of oncoming near misses. It's genuinely impressive.

The adaptive triggers are useful. Not just "wow, it's like I'm shooting the real gun!" You can easily half press R2 on foot. Lightly pressing R2 until resistance starts allows you to keep your gun held up, ready to fire, without having to aim using L2. You could always do this but now it's effortless, and you will not accidentally fire, ever. Driving is even better, allowing you to modulate your speed even easier. Pressing R2 now feels like putting pedal to metal. Same with L2. Pressing L2 when braking even sometimes causes it to judder depending on how hard you're braking. It feels super great to play.

Oh absolutely, Rockstar can take inspirations from anywhere but there are way too many references and parallels in RDR2 with Arthurian Legend for it to not have been a major source of inspiration while writing.
