would be cool to explore Noway in a gta-esque game but would feel weird seeing people going on kill rampages in a peaceful country like Norway. maybe they could make a new IP for countries that GTA's traditional gameplay style wouldnt work but would be fun to explore in other ways

Last thing I want is a GTA game set in my own city, not even England. I play games like these to go to other places. Not where I do actually live.

If they did a GTA outside of America, they should do it somewhere near Russia, or in Moscow. People in Russia are already crazy, they drive cars like they are in a video game, they are obsessed with guns and blowing sh*t up like Americans, they drink a lot alcohol (Vodka), they have Ivan's fighting shirtless and drunk in the streets, they have brutal mafias and they do insane sh*t in the wild like fighting bears, hunting, swimming, riding horses and looking cool while doing it. I would definitely pay to experience something like that!

I think a non-satirical GTA in a different country wouldn't be GTA. I think GTA could go outside America but it has to retain at least some of its satirical element - GTA IV had a more grounded and serious story but its world was still heavily satirical. If R* want to pursue a much more serious narrative and serious world building, I personally think that should be a new IP.

I'm from the DC area and I'm 50/50 with a game being set here just check the other thread in this section. Modern day DC is just too dull and gentrified even though recently there has been an uptick in crime GTA has gone up lmaoo. I prefer a game set in 1980s/1990s DC back when there were real players and drug dealers making moves and the city had more character instead of a starbucks and luxury condos on every corner.

i know what you mean dawg. unfettered capitalism comes with a cost, a human cost. we used to have corpos out here with secret life insurance policies on employees so they get millions of dollars when that employee is dead while their family gotta pay $12k for the funeral and another family gotta pay entire salary on insulin while big pharma companies going higher and higher on Fortune 500. its called the american dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.

interesting, i didnt know this. the first place looks like beautiful country and only 40k population  i also looked up net worth and apparently china is in first place with U.S. behind. not sure if net worth ranking is as important as gdp though

What they wanted to achieve back then was oil starvation. If you flip a car upside down IRL and turn the engine on it is going to overheat a lot cause oil doesn't go around properly

I know, but I'm also talking about the USA selling wars throughout the world ever since it got its independence in 1776, it already went into war with Canada and Mexico very early in the 1800's to steal their lands, first it stole Mexico's territories, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico were all mexican territories prior to the Mexican-American War, then it kicked the canadians out of the Oregon area, which now are the states of Washington and Oregon, it previously was a joint occupation of both americans and canadians until the USA government saw there was more americans than canadians there and turned it into USA territory and that's just the start of all the wars it participated in throughout 3 centuries more or less now, the USA now is one of the most powerful countries in the world, sure, but it lied, stole and murdered its way there at the expense of millions of humans lives throughout its history.
