We're just talking about the most obvious countries to be featured, but suit yourself and bring your ideas to the table.

Dear old Nils in RDR2 and his friends gave us a glimpse of how norwegians could be included. Naturally you'd have them speak norwegian a lot. I frankly don't have much to bring to the table, I just want to see my people being represented in a good ass game

Interesting, though I assume the company they're working for can adjust the pay (up obviously, not down)? Or, alternatively, I noticed there's  extra pay per additional voice so given they have multiple sessions and a ton of lines, expect many $300 bonuses on top of that $500 maybe.

hi guys im reputable leaker xMilfDestroyer69x on reddit and i have exciting info for you guys. i was able to hack into the lead rockstar vegetation artist's Slack account and have uncovered lit information. here is the transcript:

I know the feeling lol, but I'd like a brazilian protagonist in America way more than a game fully set in Brazil, it just wouldn't be good, that's why I think Mexico is a way better choice.

It should be set up norf, England. The protag(s) should be able to plan a heist at their local Greggs and get away with millions in steak bakes!

Unpopular opinion, but I really wish they took the series outside of America. I know Dan Houser (even though he's not there anymore) has gone on record to say that he see's GTA as American satire, but like... Why? There's a whole f*cking world out there with different countries with their own history of criminal under goings. Why limit yourself to one country, and one country only?

I'd like to see the series go back to the UK again, I just replayed The Getaway on my old PS2 recently and I think it would be awesome to go back and explore the UK criminal underworld. All I can think of is the protags getting into Guy Ritchie-esque hijinks like in the movies Snatch and Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels. Great action, great soundtrack, and tons of witty dialogue. Or maybe something more serious like the 1971 film Get Carter

I think its because America is easy to bully and joke about, the opportunities are endless. What really can you joke about when it comes to the brits? Bad teeth, calling them fish and chip eaters, slinging words bad words like nonce and c*nt, etc.

They don't have to go the satirical route though. We know they can make great story games with Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2. I wouldn't mind seeing a serious-toned story for a GTA game.

That's my thinking too, after GTA 6 and RDR3 I'd like to see Rockstar making games in different countries.

Both Red Dead and GTA's core DNA is intrinsically tied to America at this point and I don't see that ever changing. At best they'd have a foreign location accompanied with a US location like we had Mexico in RDR.

 

So unless Rockstar makes a new IP after GTA VI or the next Red Dead the chance of getting a Rockstar game solely set outside US is slim to none. Even a spiritual sequel to L.A. Noire most likely will be set in US, like in New York or somewhere. I picked that game here since it was the only game other than GTA V to get a native PS4/XOne port from the PS3/360 era Rockstar titles, so might get a reboot in future like Red Dead Revolver to Redemption, who knows. It did sell 7.5m copies before the remaster came out in 2017. From Rockstar's own catalogue Bully is the best candidate to get a game set in outside US in my opinion. Midnight Club would be another suitable IP but it's very unlikely to get another sequel. Manhunt and Max Payne are pretty much dead.

 

Personally I'd like to see more smaller, experimental games between their flagship projects but that's unlikely to happen.

I bet people just want GTA to take place in another country because they want to wreck havoc in a fictionilized version of the city/country they live in. Although I wouldn't mind crashing planes in the Petronas Towers
