Absolutely. Sadly both RDO and trilogy will now be ignored by the media altogether because GTA 6 is just too big of an announcement.  It works nicely in their favour, everyone will focus on GTA 6 now.

im still upset about how they treated red dead online. but i figure that i could sit around pouting and being mad about it all day. or i could be happy knowing that a brand new game is coming out. i cant control what rockstar does. so its best to just be happy with something new.

you say that like rdr2 isn't their latest original game. i'd bet my forum account that the map will be just as varied and wonderful as rdr2's was, and that it might even exceed the mark.

Yea RDR2 is they "latest game" when you ignore the Trilogy. But don't forget that RDR2 was pushed by Dan Houser and he left the company and we don't know how much that will affect they ideas. Games in 2021-22 sucks. So i hope that GTA 6 won't get released soon as for the love of the series, it needs to be released in a better time period of the world and gaming industry anyway as the current industry is on downfall like a lot of other areas. And of course there will be better times coming, so better later then too early. Just consider how much is currently going on. Making a game in chip crisis and cancel culture is really hard.

i don't really believe in the concept of "cancel culture" to begin with (seems like a stupid fearmongering buzzword thing to me) but do you really think that R* would tone down their games because of what some angry mob on the internet thinks? their whole thing is controversy. gta 5 had it, rdr2 had it, gta 6 will probably have it.

 

one bad release doesn't define the company. might i remind you that E&E isn't even out yet, and it was a "logical" (although sh*tty) step forward because they evidently weren't done with gta 5 yet. it doesn't change anything about 6.

I was having dinner at a restaurant and when I was done, I opened Twitter and I saw the tweet. I let out a scream and everyone looked at me, it was pretty embarrassing but WHO CARES GTA VI IS COMING AFTER SUCH A LONG TIME!!!!

 

Also, notice how no supposed "leakers" mentioned this upcoming minor announcement? Yeah goes to show that most if not all of them speak out of their ass LOL!

A trailer announcement will be good enough for me. Remember, they released GTA 5 trailer 2 years before release. I'm anxious to see where it takes place.

GTAV's initial announcement was with a trailer date, it happened the week after.
