October 25th, 2011 was when they announced GTA V. November 3rd, 2011 was when they dropped the first trailer. Could we be seeing a similar scenario happening here?

They straight up confirmed the existence of GTA VI/Next and this is something Rockstar never did in the past.

Damn. For some reason, it feels so weird to see just a purely verbal/written reveal for the game. Usually they do the logo tease thing, but maybe the game's just really early on in development? Maybe it isn't that early, and just seeing Rockstar communicate like this after years of neglect is unbelievably surreal.

The announcement doesn't matter. GTA VI itself is the real damage control(or it's further growth). All or nothing for Rockstar, at this point.

Obviously everyone knew another GTA is coming but what I mean is that in the past Rockstar would release a tweet with the logo and trailer date and shock the internet. Now they did a bad move in my opinion by confirming it and letting everyone in the dark for many months if not more. We can be happy if we get a trailer this year.

I think it's because it would completely overshadow the product they're releasing next month, like I am exctied for E&E (yes sue me) especially that they've confirmed some technical aspects of it, but if anything more was said about the next entry, it would be a very small thing in the bigger picture lol.
