Unspoken OH
1.) The video itself is in 4K, which is fine. He used a high-end capture card I assume. 2.) The HDR looks kind of sus but it could be a setting in his capture card software but in all honesty I think he just increased the saturation of the video. 3.) My question is, why does the game look so sharp and crisp? This dude claims to be running the game on the Xbox Series S, which is capable of 1440P60 at max, however GTA V does not support any resolution higher than 1080P natively (on consoles). As far as I know, Xbox runs the game at the lowest resolution out of all the console versions out there. It's 900p, correct me if I'm wrong, please. There is upscaling although it doesn't look half as sharp as the one you see in this particular video. It can't have been post-processing effects either. You can increase the sharpness of a video during editing but it looks different. So what the hell? I don't get it. I, too, own a Series S and I have a 4K TV and I did run GTA V on it, I recorded it at 4K highest bitrate and the game itself still looked like it was about 1080p, 900p or so. And yes, I checked the video settings on the console itself and the maximum available resolution I had was 1440P, unsurprisingly. So how did this person run the game at native 4K - or it could be 1440P but still...wtf? Only PC is capable of that, no console can run the game at 1440P/4K natively. Upscaling is different. In before anyone says, just because the video itself is 4K on YouTube, it doesn't mean the game runs at 4K too! It's just the render settings in his capture card. I think this guy plays the game at 4K resolution on PC with a controller; he increased the saturation to make it seem as though it's HDR and called it a day. If any of you guys have some free time on your hands, could you please watch this video and share your insights? The reason I'd love to know this, is that maybe there's an Xbox setting which I don't know about or something. I'm not planning to flame this guy. I don't care. He's grinding for views, it's his business. I just want to know if I can make my game look as good on the Series S as he did. Prob not though. Thanks. Unspoken OH
UPDATE: I busted him. It's a lie. He plays the game on PC, likely at 4K resolution and great FPS (at least 30 with no dips). Evidence: the PC version of the game still uses the XB360 controller icons. The Xbox One version (which the Series S/X runs) uses Xbox One controller icons. Busted. F*ck this dude. Also if you look at the way he replies to users' questions in his comment section, you'll see that he's severely disabled mentally or something. Well, I answered my own question here. Mods, please close this. Thanks for the help everyone. Xane_MM
