Stranger mission I Know You, accessibility.. A couple of questions

Hi folks. I started to play the game last weekend, and not too many main story missions done so far. I wasn't unable to finish stranger mission I Know You, I understood that I must proceed further in the story. So, how far exactly? When I was forced to leave I Know You and proceed with the story, I wasn't even able to place a waypoint into very south, including the next location (found with help of Youtube) of I Know You after Thieves Landing. And anyway, what story mission is the one after which all areas are unlocked for finishing stranger missions, claiming safe houses and so on? I'm not sure if I'm going to play the game 100%, but I at least want to do all side missions I just discover and get all the safe houses.

I wouldn't worry about missing new areas because the game will take you there. Here's the unlock conditions:

• "We Shall Be Together in Paradise" unlocks...
  • Mexico (southern) region
  • "I Know You: Part 2"
  • All Mexico strangers and safehouses
• "An Appointed Time" unlocks...
  • West Elizabeth (northern) region
  • "I Know You: Part 3"
  • All regions and safehouses, 99% of strangers

There's one final stranger that unlocks after the main story but it's impossible to miss.

In addition, you have an unlimited amount of time (ie you can leave them until after the story is finished if you want) to do all the stranger missions except for I Know You. That must be completed before the final mission. It isn't required for 100% but won't be available after that. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, if you find you're missing something somehow you can always look it up but most stuff you'll get to naturally as the game progresses.

Not all Mexico or West Elizabeth strangers are unlocked by the missions that unlock the regions just fyi. Many aren't unlocked until certain other missions (or certain other stranger tasks) in those regions are completed, same as with the New Austin ones.
