Scorch2K
Wow.. he even took the liberty of renaming them all so you have no clue what they are until you listen to them.. REALLY lame.. Here's what I figured out.. 3.mp3 = That one song from Ferris Bueller.. 10.mp3 = No clue what it's called, but it goes like "Let's hear it for the boy.. let's give the boy a hand" 14.mp3 = Don't know the name, but it's like "Ooh, here she comes.. watch out boy, she'll chew you up.. she's a man eater" Overall, a great pack.. definately gives me an 80's feel.. i'm using all these, but here's another few I added in. Chicago - Just say you love me Cars - Who's gonna drive you home tonight Eric Clapton - You look wonderful tonight (Not sure if it's 80's) Fleetwood Mac - Tell me lies (Not sure if it's 80's, but it fits in great)
Paulie
Downloaded the pack. The songs are pretty good 80's music . Try it!

Oblivious
A little off topic, but is there a way to have more than one MP3 player/radio station? I'm a bit old, and as such I already have a wide variety of 80's songs. I'd like to make more than one station as having Oingo Boingo and Metallica (or something) in the same one just seems wrong to me.

I'd like to make more than one station as having Oingo Boingo and Metallica (or something) in the same one just seems wrong to me. The only I'd know how to do that, is to replace one of the game-stations with your own mp3 station. Somewhere on this forum is a thread that discusses creating your own radiostation files. That would mean fixed number of files / order etc for that mp3-station (ie the regular 'randomizers' won't work for that station) Good luck! Wolf68k
The song list: 1 Wham - Young Guns 2 Duran Duran - Wild Boys 3 Sigue Sigue Sputnick - Love Missile F1-11 (from the Ferris Bueller's Day Off Soundtrack) 4 The Thompson Twins - Doctor Doctor 5 Pet Shop Boys - It's A Sin 6 Altered Images - I Could Be Happy 7 Captain Jack - Give It Up 8 Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now 9 A Ha - Take On Me 10 Denise Williams - Let's Hear It For the Boy 11 Wheatus - A Little Respect 12 Imagination - Just An Illusion (from the F/X Soundtrack) 13 Men Without Hats - Safety Dance 14 Hall & Oates - Maneater 15 Kim Carnes - Betty Davis Eyes 16 Blondie - Sunday Girl 17 Bangles - Manic Monday I'm not sure which is sadder that I knew at least half of these without having to look them up or that I spent the time looking them up. Scorch2K: when you said "3.mp3 = That one song from Ferris Bueller" before I downloaded this I thought you meant 'Oh Yeah' by Yello because I normally tie Ferris and 'Oh Yeah' together //edit I'm surprised no one said anything, the Blondie song I left the word "Lyrics" in the song title from when I copy/pasted it from the web site

chizzer
Julian, I suggest that you use a download manager to download the pack. One can be found at www.getright.com Not sure why you only got 39mb out of the 59mb tho. Maybe your connection timed out? I really don't know. Wolf68k, thanks for the tracklistings dood. I really should have done this myself. one wee mistake tho.. 11 Wheatus - A Little Respect (It's Erasure) Wheatus did the cover. Thanks to all who's downloaded the pack - I hope you liked it. I've got a tonne of 80's music on CD, so another pack is on the way (with tracklistings). Maybe you guys can steer me in the right direction for what choons to use? Many Thanks, ChiZ

Wolf68k
Wolf68k, thanks for the tracklistings dood. I really should have done this myself. one wee mistake tho.. 11 Wheatus - A Little Respect (It's Erasure) Wheatus did the cover. I only knew about half songs...I forgot to mention the reason why is because I'm freaking old. How old? Old enough to grow up with them in middle/junior high school. Just saying that makes me feel even older. I just listened for a line I could enter into google as the search string and that came up. I don't remember that song growing up as much, most of that style of music I tried to avoid...even though I sadly knew the Duran Duran and the Tiffany songs within the first 2 beats
The Quick and the Dead
I'm glad that i didn't know a lot of these songs. I knew more songs that came with vice than in your silly Pack. I know of: 3, 8, 9, 13. I know of 3 from ferris, 8 cuz I know of "I think I'm a clone now", 9 because I've just heard OF it before, i've never heard IT, and 13 cuz my friend told me to listen to it a long while ago. Blargh! I went through and named them all, easy pattern, put them all in the playlist right, ALT 3, ALT 1, tab tab, SongTitle, Artist, Enter, B, repeat. At least that works with winamp. In the next pack, include Yello - "Oh Yeah", and maybe a little "Don't Talk Back", perhaps some of the stuff you'd see on VH1 ! ! ! ! I think i'm turning japanese, but i do believe thats with vice. Wolf68k
I think this topic could go into a huge number of pages just listing what everyone thinks are good songs of the '80s. That's not to say we should stop, it was just and an observation BTW, if enough ask for it wants it, and if someone is willing to host it for download because I can't find a free web site that will allow a single file to be big enough, I will rip that '80s cd I have. Here's a list of what's on it: 1. A-Ha - Take On Me it's on there but won't be ripped since chizzer already has it 2. Wang Chung - Everybody Have Fun Tonight 3. The Fixx - Sazed By Zero 4. Cutting Crew - (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight 5. Charlie Dore - Pilot Of Airways 6. The Escape Club - Wild, Wild West 7. Falco - Rock Me Amadeus 8. Jon Astley - Jane's Getting Serious 9. General Public - Tenderness 10. The Church - Under The Milky Way I'll throw in Yellow - Oh Yeah for Quick if need be
jarryjayo
NO one used any songs from the police, walking on the moon, one of the greatist 80's bands of all time. best of sting is a must own cd. Talking heads, burning down the house Grace Jones, Pull up to the Bumper any song on her cd would be great, I love that cd. as far as duran duran goes, I hate that wild boys song so much, mind you I wasn't into duran in the 80's, was more into metal and punk. DOA, Dead kennedys, SNFU. I love Venon and wasp, and what really gets me about the medal station is it's not playing any of the music we listened to. Like Van Halen, ZZ TOP, AC/DC, aerosmith would have been better then david lee roths solo lp, wasn't that done in the 90's?
Disco Stu
JarryJayo I couldnt agree more we need a metal mp3 pack I believe the first Roth solo album was 86 after hearing that song "lets hear it for the boys" I went to into convulsions and had a horrible VH1 flashback 17 years later and I still cant that horrible video out! GTA3Freak-2001
Why would it be Illegal, I mean the topic is mostly about what songs are good to add to the game not where to get songs for free. EDIT: I just read the first post and I see how it could be illegal but the topic is more about good music to put in the game.
