Carl_Speed YT
Hi guys. So I`m just playing GTA 2. I noticed that You can change the resolution of the game. However. I can only change the resolution while i`m in the game. Because resolutions aren`t showing in GTA2Manager when you`re not in the game (I mean. If GTA 2 is not open. And you opened GTA2Manager. It wouldn`t show up the available resolutions) Wonder why. It used to be fix using DgVoodoo2. But using that program causes lag and crashes *Sigh* Guys. Can you help me fix this? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This doesn't happen in my Windows 98 PC so it's not supposed to, but it can happen when running it on modern PCs. Carl_Speed YT

And why is the game only changing the resolution whenever you got to the game itself. I mean the main menu is still stretched to 640x480. And if i select 1024x768 on the resolutions menu. It will only be applied if i click "Start Play In Area"

There is no way to change the menus from 640x480, whether you use Glide or Direct3D. This means that whenever you access the menu (even to reload a save) the resolution will switch and then switch again when you start the game. This wasn't that noticeable with CRT displays in 1999, which switched instantly. It's much more of a problem on modern flatscreen displays unfortunately. When I play through it on a non-CRT display I just select 640x480, as then there is no resolution switching. The game only renders in 640x480 anyway, it upscales to any higher resolution. One more thing. I have noticed that the frame rate drops if you go any higher than 1024x768. This happens even on my Windows 11 PC, so it's not because of a lack of power. So you can either play in 640x480 or put up with the switching resolutions. Carl_Speed YT

I`ll rather play on 640x480 jm-9

FulVal85
Try to use dgvoodoo2 with this game i suggest to keep 640x480 in-game and upscale it with dgVoodoo2 (with a 1080p display scale 640x480 to 1280x960, with a 1440p display scale 640x480 to 1920x1440, with a 4k display scale 640x480 to 2560x1920; only with 1440p display centered scaling is not necessary) Edited February 8 by FulVal85
