Assuming it'll come out around late 2024 (I think), it definitely won't come out for last gen. I think they don't want to limit themselves, they would want to use the full potential of the new consoles.

it think you mean last gen. unless you also mean it is impossible to release for ps5 and x series x, which is now current gen

i highly doubt that it would be on ps4. i just hope the ps5 will be super easy to get by the time gta 6 comes out. i hate this stupid scalper and hoarder crap. and i don't want to have to spend hours online waiting for more to be available. or waiting for updates. i just want to be able to go to the store. say i want a ps5. and they bring it to me. and i walk out. no waiting in long lines or crap like that.

it's definitely gotten better, they're only like $600 on StockX now.

The game is basically coming out at minimum around Late 2024, and by that point, games would be more advanced than what the PS4 and XBOX One could achieve. The XBOX One has been discontinued recently as well, so that's definitely not getting a new GTA. If Rockstar wants to keep the ambition of games ever increasing, then we are unlikely to get a GTA for the PS4.

Absolutely zero chance this is coming out on old generations. That's like them making GTA IV for PS2 and original Xbox.

this reminds me of a funny story. back when i first got into gta. i remember seeing promotion for gta 4. so i was excited to see a new game. i went to the game store and wanted to pre order it for the ps2. i was pretty young back then and had no idea about the ps3 or other consoles. i just had a ps2. so i told them i wanted it for the ps2 and they told me that its not on it. i even asked if they were ever gonna make any more gta games on the ps2 and of course it was a no. its so funny looking back at how stupid our young selves were.

 

one time at a group i meet with. we were talking about video games. and i was talking about red dead redemption 2. and one of the guys asked if that game was for ps2 as he only has a ps2. i told him no its a very advanced game. i know these stories are off topic but i thought it would be cool to share.

They are going too milk that for two years give or take or why bother doing it ?

 

I doubt it's a priority now it's post Christmas lol, but they did just drop the definitive edition also, and probably hope too sell some more copies of that, 

 

This whole microchip shortage, why release a game with a tiny market ? It's going too take years for that too settle down now !

The two years of promotion was never "intentional", it was always due to delays. There's really no excuse for them to announce a GTA VI release date/window and not hit the mark.

 

There's also no real reason to hype something up two years before it's available. The vast majority of people are going to forget about it in a day or two. Best to wait at least until preorders are available, I think.

established and rockstar will want to take advantage of A LOT to give the maximum graphic potential in the gen so

Why it can run on these consoles (PS4 and XONE) via streaming, like XCloud or some kind of streaming service via browser in this future of the industry, we don't know.

when it streams, is it being run on different hardware? i am a noob when it comes to this, but that's how i assume it works since having the games run on the actual last gen system would just.. not work, lol.

I don't see how GTA VI will run on anything but an SSD. Streaming for open world games is very, very important. And we all know how ambitious Rockstar Games are. If anyone could do it, maybe it's them. But I just don't think it'd be possible for their next big ambitious open world game to run on an archaic HDD.

And that's not even mentioning the advanced GPU's or CPU's of the PS5 & Xbox Series X|S.

If it didn't have moderately sized release, my answer was that it's also coming for last gen! because they can sell the game to more players!
Also I think this way because I think they didn't make V to live for 10 years!! but this time they are gonna make VI to live for 10 years!!!! it's coming in 2024-2025 for sure! I hope this time it will have day1 PC / Steam release there are no excuses!

Of course they aren't. For the last 3 - 4 years they were sitting on their ass all day, smoking dope and jerking off while they play that f*cking game. If that's our standard for goodness..then no wonder GTA VI is screwed.

No. Because GTA VI is probably coming out in 2024-2025 and by then the PS4 will be as outdated as the PS3 is right now.

They're not. GTA Trilogy DE and the current state of GTA/RDR Online are all the proof we need. Rockstar has been sitting in a comfort zone for a while. I mean, 2013-2022 is a 9 year gap and all we got in the middle was one new game. One hell of a game, but still just one (and a sequel by the way, it's not even a new IP).
