They are clearly driven to make this game into something special and based on the 3.x updates, they are succeeding at that and getting well deserved returns for their efforts.

 

Hydro is really pushing my second account resources to the brink now. First Mona who is still active in my farming team, Candace can't even get a spot in the team because I haven't started the desert on my second account yet so can't get her boss mats and Nilou will be next as I have guarantee. My main just got Venti (long story I won't bore people with) which means I have a full set of archers, one for each element. I don't like Venti but I do like having my archer set complete... and who knows, if I ever start farming artifacts again he might prove useful in some domains. Nahida = small character = easy skip. Layla on the other hand... is probably not going to be skipped unless she is a 4* and the game decides to be a PITA on that banner.

 

Still haven't found all the Aranara on either account and annoyingly, it seems I have missed an oculus in the forest on my main account. Do I start the hunt before I use too many pins in the desert I ask myself.... decisions, decisions.

 

Funny thing I read that highlights how differently people play this game. Someone was complaining that we need more stamina because (and I quote) "the desert is boring to cross"... Then there's me who gets a waypoint 800m away and never uses sprint at all and is frequently in walking mode because it all just looks so stunning. I recently binge-played/completed Submerged and that was quite nice to wander around in as well. But this game makes me just want to stop and look all the time, the last game I played that made me want to do that was the very first Assassin's Creed when it came out... and No Man's Sky saying that, I played that on a 92 inch HD projector and that was just amazing.

 

Yes the update is indeed fantastic! As you say the attention to detail is stunning and very much an AAA quality studio development team.

 

The amount of money maid is indeed impressive in 2 years and I am sure that will continue in the coming months as the 3.0 updates continue, the next area of the desert should unlock in 3.2 and sees us having the Desert Sandstorms so I can't wait to see that in the game.

 

I was refllecting on the Hydro situation myself the other day, it's funny how back in t he 1st days you had Mona, Xinqui or you had Barbara, so Mona and Xinqui was your attack choice and Barbara was your healer because at least for me in early game Noelle just did not compare to Barbara for healing in my opinion.

 

Then we got the 'looser' Tartaglia (Childe) when his banner came up but the less said about him the better, I can never forgive his actions in the story even though it fitted his character pefectly so you'll never see him in my game as will never be pulled for! LOL.

Then game changer for healing Kokomi came along and Yelan brought different options to the Hydro element due to being an archer and Ayato is of course the powerful sword Hydro.

Candace at least brings an interesting element with her playstyle which I think is good as does Nilou but it is a lot of Hydro at once but I am looking forward to seeing how NIlou plays out. Not long away!

 

Yeah I very rarily run places in game too so stamina is not a big problem for jme either!

I had a problem in that sense... didn't like Noelle's character but liked Barbara even less but without Noelle I would have died so many times. I finally got through Redcrest hell to get Candace to level 80 on my second account, so I don't need any more of them for a while... unless Nilou needs them of course. I am just a couple of fates away from having 200 fates and 15 pity guaranteed, so Nilou is joining the team with 100% certainty. But now I have Candace built Mona can earn her friendship in the teapot for a while and Candace can join my exploring team. I'm not comfortable with Mona and Ayaka's alternate sprints, there's just too much delay between them stopping sprinting and them being able to attack, so I always feel vulnerable when I sprint into a fight. Great for crossing water though, they save so much time in that regard.

 

RNG is going bonkers for me at the moment. Last patch, weapon banner on both accounts... Amos Bow. Hit pity on standard banner on my second account today, also Amos Bow. But that's actually okay because it means Ganyu on both acounts now has R2 Amos Bow. It's just bizarre how the game can throw up the same 5* weapon in such a short time on two accounts.

 

Found my missing dendroculus on my main, so that was a relief. Don't know how I missed it along with the chest it was sat near... it wasn't exactly hidden in a remote location.

 

The desert is still excellent, some of the side quests have been really good too with the stories behind them. I am trying to avoid collecting every chest I see so that there is something for me to find when I wander round. It's not easy though because you can see themm from so far away with it being so open and it is tempting to just collect them straight away. I still haven't started the world quest yet on my second account, nor Cyno's story quest, so that's keeping a lot of exploration for me to do later. And because of how easily I forget things, doing them on my second is almost like doing them for the first time, so I will get lost in the caves all over again.

Those are fair points but I have to say I don't hate on the playstyle of them that much and I'm curious to see how Noelle fairs when I level her to 90 in the foreseeable future as this is my new project.

 

Since I need so many 'good' elemental goblets I am leaving the artefact domains for a bit to fight some of the world bosses as there are some I have simply not engged at all and I figure there might be a chance of a good goblet drop as most of my 'good' goblets with CR/CD have come from Gladiator/Wanderer's Troupe set, we'll see if this mindset works for awhile plus I finally feel I want to give some characters Level 90 stats so might as well when the mood is there.

 

Nilou needs the Mushroom spores but make sure you don't get the 'Activated' ones, it has to be the normal non elemental effects one for her.

 

Have not wished at all yet but I know I am due a five star on the Standard banner on both accounts so I do have the chancw of getting somebody a constellation at least  or maybe two if I loose my 50/50, we will see on Friday night.

 

I am probably gonna start tthe desert story quest at some point over the coming weekend but we'll see how the farming the bosses goes, that might take higher priority!

I am always using Yanfei and Yae to kill everything, so that's probably messing things up big time. I tried the Ruin Drake boss to see what it was like, it will be fine because it's only low level and Ganyu gets to play with it.

I have her at C6, lvl 90 on my main account with an okay Husk set and Whiteblind and she's pretty deadly. She's a lifesaver in that stupid Mondstadt domain with the icicles... I hate that domain. I heard she was good at C6 so I had bought her from the starglitter shop a couple of times to get her cons maxed, well worth it.

 

My main account is in the middle of another multi-part questline that popped up out of nowhere and my second account is hunting Aranara for the second time. I thought I had found them all... I was mistaken, so I have to re-check every location again. I can't do anything else until I have done it either because I have run out of map pins.

Yes thoser are the correct ones! I have  the opposite problem, too many of the non highlighted ones to the right of those!

I didn't realise until recently that there was another pity running on the standard banner for deciding if you get a character or weapon based on previous results. I don't even know what my last two were apart from the Amos Bow and I am not sure if the history goes back far enough for me to check.

 

 

Yeah all three banners have different pity counts so the character banner has one, weapon banner and the standard banner, it retains the records for six months.

 

I know mine currently is 50/50 Character Banner (65 Pity)

Weapon Banner 50/50 (5 Pity)

Standard Banner 59/90 (59 Pity) but I am  due a 5 Star character since the preivous time was weapon as it swaps between the two)

New banner day is always an eventful and entertaining experience.

 

Character Banner: Beidou, Beidou and much more Beidou until I end up with C8 Beidou. Xiangling x2, a Sayu, a Sacrificial Fragments and of course a Nilou.

 

Weapon Banner: I did a 10 pull because the 4* weapons looked interesting and got the Xiphos' Moonlight and Wandering Evenstar, so that was pretty decent. Then I realised I didn't have any ascension mats for the sword and because my account is all bow and catalyst users, I only have 2 swords levelled up... one on Kazuha (his event sword) and one on traveller (Dark Sword). I can't get any ascension mats until Sunday unfortunately. I didn't even think about her weapon, I have just been farming the Drake for the last few days... planning isn't my greatest strength as you can see.

 

Artifacts wise I have got nothing for Nilou other than 2pc Glad and 2pc Wanderer with a HP% (or maybe EM) goblet... so that pretty much sucks as expected. I had some Praxis books left over from Collei and have to wait until tomorrow for more of them.

 

That was all my second account, I suspect my main account will end up with C10 Barbara with the 30 pulls I will be doing on there.

 

Let's hope the RNG Archons are kind to everyone this banner.

Well congrats on getting Nilou, my FTP account went to 69 wishes again but I got Nilou on the 2nd last pull and had 3x Xiangliang, 2x Barbara and 1x Beidou in between who of course were already all maxed so useless but I did manage to get Rust so that's the bow Yoimiya's been using on FTP maxed out for refinement so I am sure that will help her a lot.

 

It was a good day on the FTP account game finally gave me a good Phsycial Damage Bonus gtoblet for Eula while farming the Ruin Drake so now at last she's decent in damage terms and I also got an Electro goblet for Keqing so that's two of my mains actually good now.

That sounds like it all worked out perfectly on many fronts, which is always nice. So big for that. On the positive side, those 6 characters give you potentially 6 fates back in starglitter which makes Nilou a bit cheaper and puts you 6 steps closer to the next character.

 

I was looking at the character details in the trial run, I couldn't believe Nilou had 50,000+ HP at level 80, that's crazy stuff, that's more than my level 90 Kokomi on my main and I thought she had a decent amount.

 

Always nice to get guarantee just before a character you want, it saves the pain of wanting to wish but not wanting to take any chances. Nilou was my very last pull which leaves me on zero pity going into the next banners, meaning I should be safe to avoid the 5* characters... in theory anyway but it did drop Mona on 3 pity and Diluc on 6, so it's never a certainty. If I can get Layla in very few pulls that would be ideal. Not sure what other characters are due after that other than Dehya, who is another 5* I don't really want. I think there are some more male characters at some point but I will be skipping those.

 

Decided to start Golden Slumber on my second account, so that is giving me more exploration to do and of course we have a new story quest to do. Still plenty to keep busy with, which is great.

Yup, everything fell into place just nicely and since I have no interest in 3.3 and 3.4 banners (spoiler below) which is of course to be taken with the expectation that things may change, I don't normally discuss the wish banner speculaion but it's kinda necessary to explain that I will have a LOT of spare primogems.

3.2 New Characters - Nahida and Layla

3.3 New Characters - Scaramouche and Farayan

3.3 Re-Run - Raiden Shogun,Yoimiya (or possible Eula) and Hu-Tao (because Chinese New Year falls in Lantern Rite again) so 3.3 has to have Hu-Tao and Eula if keeping characters within 1 year

 

3.4 Lantern Rite Event - NO NEW 5 Star but we will get YaoYao 4 Star offerred in the event.

3.4 Lantern Rite Reruns - Shenhe, Yelan and Xiao

 

3.5 New Characters - Dehya, 4 Star TBC but I suspect Mika since no one's indicated his time yet.

The talk of Baizhu becoming playable has been debunked as myth only for now. I hope it stays that way because I just can't visiton him being a good playable character but hopefully proven wrong on that one at some stage!

 

Take with the grain of salt though but if I do end up calling this I'm gonna be pretty chuffed)

 

So yeah after I obtain Nahida for my main in Genshin there is NO characters I want until Dehya in 3.5 so if evevnts stay giving the amounts they do then I will have a LOT of Primogems!

The reason her health boosts so much is the percentage given from the 5 Star weapon, it's a shame there is no 4 star with HP yet but hopefully one will get added, I'll try for the weapon next time it reruns or hope when the standard banner gives a 5 star weapon it pops!

That was all very useful actually and at the same time quite concerning from my perspective. (I did start to explain why here but it spiralled into an essay so I removed it)

 

Needless to say given my dislike of Nahida, 3.4 isn't giving off happy vibes... hopefully I will still be bulding Layla (if the RNG Archons are kind) so I won't notice too much.

Ah... that's a hefty HP boosting weapon then, pretty useful. I will see how far I can get with the artifacts I am using, it might not be too bad because I have got HP% Sands and Goblet with HP% on the substats of two others. I only have a single ToTM artifact though, so I can't even get the 2pc bonus from them. I took her out with lvl 0 artifacts and that lvl20 sword yesterday alongside Candace, Miko and Collei and she's really nice to play. We went hunting pyro slimes so that was a good learning experience.

 

I must confess, I am a sucker for aesthetic over practicality when it comes to weapons at times, so she could end up using something that looks better than it works... the sad admissions of a casual player.

 

Edit: Levelled up Nilou's artifacts today and she ended up just shy of 41K HP at level 80, which is fine for me. 420 EM gives her a decent multiplier on reactions (about 270%), so that's okay as well. It's a mediocre build by most people's standards I suspect but she'll get played in non-optimal teams at low WL so it doesn't really matter. I will probably create a team slot for Nilou, Kokomi, Candace and Collei but I don't fancy my chances against a wood-shield Mitachurl when I am throwing water and plants at it. I suspect it's just going to make it very angry... and wet.

finally, another player that likes aesthetics! what sort of theme do you go for? matching color schemes? weapon & character nation origin? gacha splashes?

 

personally i go for gacha splashes whenever i can lol

(of course i still use non-matching/most efficient weapons, but it's only when i have to get serious for abyss/difficult battle events, in open world i just don't care - i play the way i want to play)

 

i also try do the same for artifacts, for example on barbara instead of using ocean-hued clam i use maiden beloved, because that suits her more even if the ocean-hued clam's effect is better

Anything that just kinda feels right to be honest, so it could just be the style of the weapon or a good colour blend. Like for instance my Candace has Prototype Starglitter because the black and gold suits her well, plus it has the small tassel on the end. Amber has Rust, even though I play her with charge-shots which suffer with Rust. It does get complicated by the fact I don't allow any two characters to have the same weapon and I will sometimes sacrifice it if my build is so terrible they need a helping hand but I like to try and pick something that fits if I can. Once a character leaves the team for good, they get the best matching weapon left in the pool, like Xingqiu has Alley Flash just so he looks right in the selection screen.

 

But the biggest case of this for me was when I pulled Kazuha, solely to use with the Cursed Blade. It's probably the most ridiculous reason to spend 80 fates on a character but the sword needed a user and he was the only option for me.

 

It's also why I refuse to use those stupid fish weapons and I won't use a weapon like Fading Twilight because it has those constant buff arrows being displayed. I was using it on Venti because it was the only bow I had built but I got fed up with seeing it, so I levelled up Raven Bow instead. I lose a bit of ER but gain a lot of EM so it's all good at the WL I play at.

 

Everything about how this game looks is a big reason I play it... heck, I just bought a 34inch 21:9 IPS monitor, just to get more out of the game aesthetically (which was really stupid given my situation but there you go). Well it seems we all share a trait or two there as unless it's a specific 5 star weapon designed for a character I also try to make the artefacts and weapon look a match for when I am playing or looking through character screen etc.

 

Might do a video showing that at some stage as I've been meaning to do one on all the characters I have but some of course still in Lvl 1 Purgatory!

 

You'll not approve of one match I did though as Yelan has the fish bow, primarily because I thought the colour and the way she moves in her burst animation  made it look a good part for her

 

Now that my main's are all Level 90 and talent level 9 I think it's a good point for a break from the 'resources' side of  things but Yoimiya, Ayaka, Eula, Kokomi, Yanfei, Bennett and Yae Miko are all there and this week I will probably finish Ganyu and Yelan so that will be 9 out of 19 built characters at full Lvl 90 and talent 9, after that I will have to 'restock' on Mora since funds will be non existant!

The beauty of aesthetics is that each person has a different take on them and the only person it needs to look right for, is the person playing the game. I am fighting with a Nilou choice because I like the Xiphos' Moonlight sword but I also think Fillet Blade is a superb match for her visual style. I can't think of many curved blades in this game other than that one and it looks really good with her.

 

The game is actually stressing me out today because of my memory problems. I did all the desert quests on my main account and didn't really have any problems, never really got lost finding locations etc... but on my second account, I am doing the quest after Golden Slumber and have spent 2 days trying (and failing) to find a certain location.

 

If only the slate gave you a marker telling you where to go... said me before noticing and then pressing the "Go" button in the slate menu and it putting a marker on the map telling me exactly where I needed to go.

That is indeed an OOF of OOFS, almost as bad as me running a race in Gran Turismo 7 this week and forgetting to fill the car with fuel at the pit stop!

 

On a more serious note now that I have done the Lvl 90 ascension for some of my characters on my main profile I now realise I have to follow suit on the FTP which won't take me long to do as I really am noticing a huge difference in the results with the game combat the fact that I got 35/36 stas on Spiral Abyss last minute on Saturday is proof that they do have an effect and my battles have been a lot easier.

 

Gonna try something that will be a bit difficult to manage but the next two weeks I am gonna farm the talent book domains to get enough purple books for the talent level 9 ascension then the plan of action from  Ver 3.2 launch day is 'farm' the world boss for the 20 pieces I need with the odd bit of resin use so hopefully I will have the main 9 characters of my FTP account  all done by 9 November, shall see how it works out in reality if I meet the challenge or not but I think I should.

Yeah, I agree.... I do feel the difference between Ganyu on both accounts when I am doing something like the Dvalin weekly. For me I just don't want the hassle of it all again, plus I would have to ascend to a higher minimum WL and I don't want to do that either. You're doing Abyss so it's probably more important for that aspect of things, so you'll reap greater rewards for the resources and time you invest.

 

I was just about to put an edit on my previous post about how absolutely insane Venti is for leylines. I have him with a full VV set with crap stats and that 3* bow but he has reasonable EM and ER. I start a leyline, fire off a Yanfei shot and then fire Venti's tornado. Then I just stand there and watch everything die whilst gaining back enough energy to fully recharge his burst. I imagine a properly built Venti is quite devastating to things than can be CC'd. I didn't realise how powerful it is and how long it lasts.

Yes defo a must for the Abyss as you say and although it is a hassle to do it again  I am a bit frustrated with the domain drops of late so I figure I need to do something a little different so might as well get that done!

 

Yes this is why Venti is stilll considered a god tier category because his tornado does so much  damage for such a  long period coupled with the mutliple elements effecr and he can shred things very quickly, example in t he VV domain you just fire Venti torando and then in my case Keqing's electro elemental burst and bam everything dead in 40 odd seconds.

I ended up missing the SP and was really p*ss*d about it. Out of nowhere, I got a problem with the game stuttering once every second. I can't find out why, I don't know what caused it and I don't seem to be able to fix it. I play Genshin in Windows 7 along with 95% of everything else on my system. But I dual boot Windows 10 and because Nvidia being asses like they are making G-Sync Windows 10 only, I had to make another account to install Genshin in WIn10 to see if the stutter was there as well. Switching from one OS to the other makes the game think it's on a new device and I just didn't want the hassle with my existing accounts. But of course you start a new game, you get tied into the "newness" of it all over again and before I had noticed, it was 3pm and I was AR11.

 

So I ended up watching someone's recording of their Twitch stream of the SP because I was raging and impatient at that point. I know that sounds stupid but mental health issues and things going slightly wrong end up as a catastrophe... and this stuttering problem had already set default Rage levels to 11. Stuttering causes a headache and triggers my vertigo, so I have been playing that *other* game since their update dropped and that's enough in itself to set things off badly. It also means I am behind with events and Sumeru exploration... it's just annoying in general.

 

As for the SP,  some pretty exciting stuff in there, some frustrating stuff in there and some outstandingly epic stuff in there. The frustrating stuff is the banner choices they have made but it is what it is. Nahida looks interesting but small character = insta-skip, but it also means the 4* I want is running with 5* characters I already have, which isn't ideal. I am sure it will be a continuation of Sumeru's greatness, so it's definitely something to look forward to.

That is a mega pain, I hope you can eventually get the stuttering issue sorted out on your account so you can play, it sounds like a router/connection issue to the Genshin server from what you describe, I had a dual boot issue once a long time ago but I cannot recall the fix I did now.

 

Not at all, I would probabaly hae some trigger issues about that myself, you don't have to answer but I presume that other game is still Tower of Fantasy, if I don't see an answer I'll take that as a confirmation in itself, I have been keeping abreast of that game so I have my thoughts but we shall not go down that road to ensure you don't have any thread triggers.

 

Oh I hear you about the banner choices as now I have nto make a descision do I go with my originial plan of Nahida or do I forget her completely and go for C1 Yoimiya and R11 Thundering Pulse, the way my mind is going I think it will be the later because the mroe I think about it since yesterday the more headache I give myself because as you know weapon banner 50/50 is a lot harder and although I have guarantee and I should go new character my loyality is firmly in Yoimiya's direction, I have a week and a bit to think about this.

 

What I do know is phase 2 is easy skip since I C6 Yae Miko back in February and you know my thoughts on 'him' so we'll leave it at that!

her first run was right after ayaka, a very anticipated character, and right before raiden shogun, a character and archon, no less, that was so anticipated that to this day is still one of the top characters for banner sales.

her rerun was right after kazuha, a character that almost everyone wanted because in his first run the metaidiots said he sucks (in the non-anemo kind of way) and everyone skipped him, and right before sumeru release.

now she gets a rerun... alongside nahida, an archon. and right before yae's rerun.

i also get stutters ingame and they seem to have gotten far worse (alongside the loading times) after sumeru release. i guess part of the fault lies with the hdd the game is installed on being pretty much 98% full at all times these days but yeah.

try checking the game data folder size. the game's space management is... less than stellar, to put it lightly, and a ridiculous amount of files does not get cleaned up properly. i've had the game installed since 1.0 and now it takes up 74gb even though the actual size should be around 40-60 or so gb (according to people online). i think reinstalling (and deleting voice packs you don't use/need) could help reduce the load on the game.

I had been re-installing and retrying some older games to try on this new monitor and I suspect something has either altered a C++ redist or has done something with DirectX. I have all my accounts moved over into Windows 10 now, so things are back to normal. I apologise for raging in the thread.

Yeah, it fills part of the day and takes a bit of pressure off Genshin, so I can spread the exploration out a bit more. I find gacha easy to get hooked on and games very quickly become routine to the point I am unable to drop them, no matter how much I don't like them. I played Crystal Maidens for 2 years, hated the game, hated the developers but I just couldn't drop it... until they announced they were closing it down which did the job for me.

 

The things I don't like about Genshin, like Abyss and artifacts I can skip, so I am left with a game that is perfect for me. I can't even think of 2 things I like about ToF but I probably won't be able to stop playing it... it's kinda sad really. I am a sucker for open-world exploration games but I have never played an MMO and I now know why. I don't like social gaming at all and it has done nothing to change that view. I am thankful that Genshin exists and ticks all the right boxes for me.

I like dual-booting, always have done... ever since I ran Win 98 and Win 2000. I don't really like Win 10 but I think I am going to have to move my gaming into there by default now. I might just reinstall Win 7 as a tools only OS, even though I don't develop anything now.

 

Win 7 is my comfort OS and has run stable (with updates turned off since my last reinstall back in 2018) until this stutter appeared out of nowhere on the 21st of this month. It was perfect the day before but even doing a system restore to an earlier date hasn't fixed it. Genshin is sat on a 200GB SSD partition on its own, so I think the disk side is okay. It might be an incompatibility with this G-Sync monitor and Windows 7 but it worked fine when I got it... it's odd. I don't remember doing anything the day before but I struggle to remember yesterday at the best of times, so maybe a game I played on Steam did something with the C++ redist or DirectX, I just don't know for sure. Size wise I'm at 56.9GB for Genshin, that includes 460MB of screenshots and just English and Chinese voice packs installed.

 

As for the next banners... I have to confess I was utterly shocked by Yoimiya's inclusion. It feels like no time has passed since I got her from her last rerun and here she is again. There are so many other 5* characters that I have only seen on banners once since I started playing, it doesn't make sense to rerun one character so many times and so close to previous reruns of them. I presume the Layla decision was to give a boost to the second-half banners. It leaves me with a problem though because my main account is going to be close to pity by the second-half. I don't really want Yae on that account and I already have Childe sat on the bench, so I hope I can get Layla before hitting the 50/50 or hope I can lose the 50/50 to Jean. My second is at 0 pity, so I am fairly safe there I think.

It's hard to ignore Yoimiya and the more you play her, the more she grows on you. In most cases, when a character hits Friendship 10 they get changed out but even though my Yanfei is more powerful than Yoimiya, Yoimiya is still in the team. She pairs up nicely with venti as well because her charged shots spread pyro around nicely for him to swirl. Her ambient animations are just great too and her Chinese voice is just perfect.

Yes, she her personality definetly is one of her secret weapons tot keep her in the party, plus she is so good with so many characters it does not seem right to have anyone else as my main at the moment,l I combine her with Yanfei so that I get the ATK boost for Pyro and reduce effects of Cryo (my nemesis) and it seems to work very well alongside Kokomi and Ayaka.

 

I decided my strat for the banners afeter the inital annoyance of Yoimiya's re-run in that my FTP will follow its pattern of try to get her five star weapon and a constellation since I don't need Yae on that account due to my 'broken' damage Keqing and as you know Childe is *Shadow Realm*, Nahida was the plan but given how frequently the arcons rerun she'll come around soon enough again!

 

So the plan is main gets Nahihda and her weapon (hopefully) on Main account a C1 Yoimiya with Thundering Pulse for FTP.

Yeah despite how 'adorable' she is the developers do seem to be being 'mean' to her with the banners, I still hurt a lot from my first experiences of when I put everything into Ayaka on both accounts and got her but ignored her until Jan/Feb and she's 'forgotten' on my FTP account whereas Yoimiya already friendship Level 10 and will be Lvl90/Talent 9 by end of the weekend!

 

Had my crystal ball seen this possibility what I would have done with 2.8 is left her and gone for Klee as I originalloy planned because who knows when she will reappear agaain and then I could have still got Yoimiya esp with my main having guarantee the way things worked.

 

If anything these banners 'serve' as a reminder of saving primogems is so important I guess but what I think iwe can now expect is I think were going to see characters a bit more frequently, esp if the rumour of extending it to 3 banners comes out.

After running this third account for a few days I still cannot bring myself to play this game the way you are allegedly supposed to play it as far as character leveling goes. I have played a lot of RPGs since Dungeon Master was released back in 1987 and the mentality (or my mentality at least) is, whoever is in your team should be geared and leveled to be as strong as possible. That also applied when I was playing AD&D but it was slightly different there because the character classes dictated maximum strengths, so you had to max your character to cater for the loss in power for some classes.

 

So after getting the dafaults of Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, Noelle and Barbara, the game decided I should also have Sucrose... which to me always formed the perfect set going into Liyue because you could switch MC to Geo and not have to switch back to Anemo for the puzzles because Sucrose exists. But that's immediately seven characters that in my mind, have to be built to the same degree. No matter how hard I try, I just can't turn that mentality off... it's very weird. Maybe I struggle so much because I play the game wrong but I know that I wouldn't enjoy it if I played it any other way.

 

It is amusing going back to the start though because all those enemies you take for granted suddenly become a serious threat again. I went into the Cryo Regisvine with a level 25 team with 2* and 3* artifacts (level 4 on just a couple, the rest were level 0). I fired the first charged shot from Amber and it's health barely moved, it fired the first shots back and I was scrambling for the food, and when it covered the outer ring in ice things got really tricky. The ruin guard in the thousand winds temple didn't go down so easily either. If this was a typical RPG where those were one time fights, I'd take that kind of difficulty but knowing that these enemies have to be farmed repeatedly, I don't want that every time.

 

That's the reason I can't be bothered with Vera in ToF, over-powered enemies that respawn in minutes makes exploration really tedious. It reminds me of when I played FFVII and the constant random battles made me quit the game and I never went back. Game difficulty balancing is incredibly difficult with a broad-spectrum playerbase, the extremes are always going to alienate a section of the players... you just have to choose which section you are willing to lose and hope that it's the smaller of the two groups.

It's interesting to hear you say that term 'the way the game wants you to play it' because I don't think I confirm to any set protocols of how the game wants me to play something either.

 

As far as I am concerned there really isn't a set protocol I follow for anything when it comes to the game and i know I've certainly probably done my build approches totally different from how it should be, as long as you have your enjoyment then that is all that matters.

 

Your last poiint is definetly one players seem to forget that difficulty exists for a reason and that Genshin is actually a very difficult game when it comes to dealing with stuff at lower levels, something I am going to be touching on with a set of videos in the not too distant future.

*Welp* the new 4 star's design totally took me off guard and now makes her a prirority since she is the closest 'resemblence' to virtual pop singer Miku Hatsune.

Agreed... she came out of nowhere straight onto my most wanted list. I came into 3.x only wanting Collei and that has quickly changed into Collei, Candace, Nilou, Layla and now Faruzan as the characters have been shown/released. It's all on the 4* lottery though, which always worries me.

Yup, they are very good at getting attention towards characters and as you say it's the 4 star lottery so it's always a worry there.

 

I think my stratgey is gonna be if there is a rerun banner alongside Scaramouche hopefully it's the same 4 stars (should be) so I will wish on that banner and that way if I do get the rerun 5 stars it's not Scaramouche but alows me to safetly get Faruzan. It's a few weeks away so we'll see I guess in the Speical Program the banner stages.

Well... after deciding to throw some wishes at the weapon banner on my main account I have a situation to solve. I didn't expect to get one of the weapons being so low in the pity but after 20 wishes it gave me Thundering Pulse. Considering my main is the account with Yoimiya that would normally be the perfect scenario, however... she is currently using R2 Skyward Harp (about 22% CR) and she has about a 65/165 crit using a Noblesse CD% circlet. Skyward Harp is giving her about 22% CR but TP is a CD% weapon. That would be a massive inbalance between CR and CD as I don't have a CR Noblesse Circlet. She'd end up about 40/200 at a guess, which I don't think is a good idea.

 

Frustrating that one of my favourite characters has her BIS weapon but she can't use it because it would make her worse... just my luck.

Considering my main is the account with Yoimiya that would normally be the perfect scenario, however... she is currently using R2 Skyward Harp (about 22% CR) and she has about a 65/165 crit using a Noblesse CD% circlet. Skyward Harp is giving her about 22% CR but TP is a CD% weapon. That would be a massive inbalance between CR and CD as I don't have a CR Noblesse Circlet. She'd end up about 40/200 at a guess, which I don't think is a good idea.

 

Frustrating that one of my favourite characters has her BIS weapon but she can't use it because it would make her worse... just my luck.

 

Lots of Thundering Pulse going about it would seem!

 

 

A frustrating scenario there but I have now solved that as both accounts now have Thundering Pulse and since I had her on CR circlet's it does work out an improvement for me at least, hopefully one day you can make use of it, don't forget that Fischl, Ganyu and Yelan can be effective with TP too but it works reasonably well with all bow users in my opinion from a  few tests I've made.

 

Was not expecting TP in the 1st 10 pull though!
