Help with importing model

As in the title. I've never used blender before and decided to import scientist model from halfife to blender and make it as gta sa model, everything seemed to work but as soon as i changed my playermodel to the skin i replaced my game crashed. I was trying to fix it for 3 hours but nothing seems to work. If theres someone who can download and check what i did wrong and repair it i would be very thankfull.
