well yeah that is true, Potential Grim does get updated frequently, but I guess im okay holding the updates for Grim on my end until the compabilities get updated, after all the one I have installed right does have a subtantial amount of updates already

I haven't installed them yet, did you just edit the files individually or is there a way to just quick drop?

just install the trio just like ROb mentioned
Potential Grim + Liberty Rush + Various ped actions
and then aply the compability patch from VPA

1. Open up the hud.dat file in gtaiv/common/data
2.search for the line HUD_WEAPON_CROSSHAIR (for the complex crosshair) or HUD_WEAPON_DOT (for the dot crosshair)

3. modify the second set of numbers in the line to this : 0.000,0.000

4. save file

 

 

Or you can copy/paste mine if you want:

HUD_WEAPON_CROSSHAIR        0.0,0.0        0.000,0.000    HUD_COLOUR_WHITE    240
HUD_WEAPON_DOT            0.0,0.0        0.000,0.000    HUD_COLOUR_WHITE    255

Thanks for that, appreciate the help, maybe others can benefit when going trough here, but the crosshair itself i managed to disable in the Zmenu.ini file

The recoil mod on the other hand from zmenu disabled the right stick when aiming with left trigger (when enabled it bugs instantly, only mouse aim works untill game restart), recoil itself looks perfect though, exactly what i would want in my game!

I tried editing the recoil in the zmenu,ini file but then the game crashes and disables right stick at start... :(

its kinda frustrating, just one bug away from the final product

So close!

Just to clarify his following his guide says I should install his mod first. Is this true or does grim come first?

Hi, new mod user for gta 4. With liberty rush installed i cannot interact with hookers.. Without mod they work, that's what i observed... could be a bug?

Hi mate, i noticed hooker interaction doesn't work with Liberty rush, i observed that when uninstalling mod, the issue goes away. I tried to look at some files to see if i could find issue but i am lost. Any ideas?

Thanks for letting me know, for now you can safely remove the drugdealerfix.asi file to play the game.

About my carcols.dat fix suggestion: You are indeed right, that by fixing the zombieb line, it prevents it from spawning with the red rims.


Another idea I had was to add Michelle's Merit as a permanently parked car in front of her apartment, if that's possible. I would love that detail. Maybe the same for Little Jacob's car, Vlad's car, etc.

I did read the notes, what i did was i backed up my saves and i wasn't far into a new game. So i am not a on a new game...would a bug like this happen if not on new game, you mentioned crashing and save corruption?

I will test on new game

Alright so you read the notes and just didn't follow them, cool. Yes you're probably experiencing save corruption.

That's a f*cking great idea! I'm wondering if that'd be fitting for Liberty Rush though, I'm not sure 🤔 I have a different mod idea where that might make more sense.

 I didn't disparage your mod, i didn't make out the issue was not my fault. I reported an issue , then tested it according to your reply and fixed it. Maybe your jaded dealing with people's issues, but try not to be disparaging just because it's the internet, I have installed many mods for many games and made some myself, i am free to experiment with how to tackle mod installation as i please.  There are many times where i have experienced issues that the mod author seems to not be aware of or even unwilling to acknowledge even when their mod causes major issues that are proven down the road. You didn't mention anything about broken mod functionality when talking about starting a new game,  just save corruption/crashing. I was only a couple missions in to a new game when i originally installed the mod. I f i am not polite to you then fair enough bite back at me, but when i am polite i expect you to be too.

So in essence 'not starting a new game could cause crashing/save corruption AND broken mod functionality' is a more thorough description.

 

If you don't like my reply, well then you get out what you put in.

That being said, thanks for your mod.

In the future if any mods modify the vehicles.ide entries that causes save corruption.  I never managed to trigger it when modifying any other files

Really, vehicles.ide? I didn't know that was a definite risk, thanks for the info. We need a full list of save-corrupting files!

as far as i'm aware its the default vehicles.ide that causes it. I added another vehicles.ide for modded cars and when  I put new cars in there it does not cause any save corruptions.

I have been modifying other files  for months with small incremental updates such as peds.ide, pedvariatons.dat, ambient.dat, scenarios.dat etc and they do not cause save corruption either

When i place the DrugDealerFix, Scenario Blocked zones, Scenario mod, and Scenario mod,asi it bugs the game out as if with drugdealer, it siad " Unable to lunch ASI" and for the scenario stuff it say's that my zoka patch is outdated.

Remove DrugDealerFix.asi for now, you can play the game without it. And update Zoka Patch.

Okay thank you btw i did that with the Zmenu and for the scenario thing it works but then in a matter of mins of lunching the game it crashes so hopefully with me updateing the patch aswell works

BTW update on the thing, the zpatch the new one. Well it won't even let me open the game

Gonna take a guess and assume you've downgraded your Steam copy of GTA IV a while back and downloaded the patch directly from the thread.

 

If that's the case, did you replace "0" with "1" on this line:

LaunchWithPlayGTAIV=0

Wished i saw that before i verified my game files cuz i now i gotta re add all the Beta mods i got for IV lmao, but ima try it. thank you

I did that and it now opens thru rockstar thing and it still closed out after that, so it safe to say i bricked the whole game

fist of all what version of the game you are running? We cant help you if you are not downgraded to at least 1.0.8.0

I think i found the reason, after downgadeingto 1.0.8.0 and getting the Latest zoka patch and menu it won't load but doing it with what the drowngrader gives you. it works, so i think the new zoka patch and menu are the main reason

Okay so after a long process of me re downgrading the game and such, i got it back working with the new patch and such and when i did it with scenarios 

files and put it in the main GTA IV it did the same thing where it works for a tiny bit then it crashes, idk if it with my pc or something else

Had anyone successfully managed to combine Liberty Rush + Potential Grim + Various Pedestrian Actions + Restored Pedestrians and get stable game?

Judging on readme amount inside all of these mods, its pain in the ass :)
