Songs that should"nt have been in GTA V

Biggest problem with that would probably be that when they made the original deal for the rights to whatever songs were used, it was only for one specific game. I doubt R* would want to go through the effort or money to reacquire the rights to all those songs.

The meme songs got old fast. I Want It That Way, Convoy, Baker Street all dogsh*t. Non-Stop Pop FM in general was completely off the mark and nothing like pop stations in Los Angeles at the time. The Rihanna song was already 3 years old at that point. The Lab should've been scrapped entirely; apart from the one Little Dragon track, the station is horrifically bad. The humor is telegraphed as f*ck and painful to listen to. Welcome To Los Santos was already a pathetic excuse for a theme song, hearing MC Eiht rap over it gave me second hand embarrassment. iFruit Radio is a f*cking joke and has no place in this game. The rest of the post-launch stations feel like their tracklists were auto generated by Spotify.

I felt like a couple of the stations were just filler, like WorldWide FM and the mexican one. The mexican one specifically feels like they were watching too much Breaking Bad at the time and oddly decided to set it as the default radio station for about 90% of the cars you hijack.

LA has a large Mexican population. It fits right in. The song choices could be a bit better though.

Julian Lennon - Too Late For Goodbyes.

 

Someone putting on a supposed rock station isn't expecting or wanting to hear a bloke who sounds like his testes are stuck in a vice.

In honesty, I get the feeling they struggled on a direction for a lot of the stations. Non Stop Pop is easily the worst offender in this regard. The variety is nice I suppose but it feels so inconsistent. LS Rock Radio doesn't fare much better. One moment it's playing Belinda Carlisle, then the next it's blasting out Def Leppard.

 

As far as songs that shouldn't be in the game are concerned, I should only reserve that spot for one, that being "Mingi" from Soulwax FM. I can't put into good enough words how f*cking horrible this song is. Literal aural torture that deserves to burn in the deepest pit of hell.

 

 

It's sad as well because I actually like much of the Soulwax playlist, but I make sure to change the dial the moment this piece of sh*t comes on.

That track sounds more Flash FM material than LSRR

 

 

Great song honestly, but not for a classic rock station

 

That being said, why wasn't "Goodbye To You" by Scandal used instead?
