possom
I have browsed and searched the forums and not seen mention of this problem. My sound effects are fine, except that the radio stations and cutscenes all echo as if listening in a cave. Has anyone else experienced or read about this problem? I have tried all possible sound settigns under the game options with no improvement. I have also verified that there are no funky 3d effects setup for my soundcard. possom
After listening more closely, I believe all my sounds are like this. It is just harder to tell with the short-duration sound effects as opposed to the continuous stream of music and speech. So, to recap, all of my sound in GTA:VC sounds like it takes place in a cavern-like room. No other games or sound operations sound this way. djspl
have you cheecked your in game audio settings? is it on surround? or eax3? Sounds like you are set to surround, but your audio hardware doesn't support it. What sound card do you have? what is the game set at? more info is needed. sambowie
The sounds actually are with reverb. I've a Creative Audigy and sometimes after quitting the game, playing mp3 with winamp, the music is with 'echo'. The game doesn't activate any of creatives own EAX-effect. It has it's own. possom
As mentioned before, Ive tried every in game sound setting that i can. Unless you have to restart the game after changing each time, i dont suspect that is the problem. I have built-in C-Media AC97 sound. I have a C-Media Xgear 3D "control panel" for the sound effects. Within it you can change virtual speaker position and sound effects. You can set it to different modes like Padded Cell, Room, Cave, Dizzy, etc. It is set to "Generic", which is the default. I have not had this problem with any other sound in any games or programs.
teccrc
I also have this problem and it is really annoying, the radio *music* sounds fine, but all the sound fx echo. I assume since you also have an AC97 audio codec/card the problem lies there, I have an AC97 card here are the specs: Audio controller: VIA 3059 AC97 Codec: ALC650 My driver version is 5.10.0.4010 Maybe we should try updating the driver? have you tried all the environmental effects? please respond if you found a solution or not
