does anyone know why i cant export bones/skin dff in 3ds max?

as u can see above, what im trying to do is simple, im trying to replace "legs" with bmypros trackie bottoms, but whenever i try to export bones/skin it always come up with that error, why?????????????? so annoying

read again the riggin tut and read it carefully

 

and consider this usage

"when (AND ONLY WHEN) you have enveloped every single verticle to one bone (all verticles must be rigged, but it is not necessary for all bones to be used), will you export your model"

 

 

after adding skin modifier, keep on working with menue at right side for skin modifier

there's a button "Edit Envelope"

but go more downwards, there you can read "Bones" and there's a button "ADD" click on ADD and add the bones

 then click on "Edit Envelope" and enable "Select"  "Vertices"

 

Then select vertices of the mesh that should be assigned to left upper leg

Then select bone "L Thigh" of bones list at right side

Then scroll down and insert

1.0

to the field "Abs. Effect:"

Then click on button "Paint Weights" to enable the attachment function

Then click again on button "Paint Weights" to disable the attachment function

 

This method is required to rigg the leg model

It needs to assigne to:

Spline1

L Thigh

R Thigh

L Calf

R Calf

 

the upper vertices, which will be near the torso, assigne it to spline1

the vertices at ass to near the knee, assigne it to Thigh

the vertices of the knee and the rest of the leg assigne it to Calf

thanks, i tried everything you said there,

but when i try to export i keep getting a error that says "unknown property- transform is undefined"

i uploaded a vid of it, maybe u can see where my mistake is?

i sort of got it working, but my knees are pointy

Oh wait, I jus loaded into game N realise the mesh is glitching in Some places lol, I guess it will take some practice but atleast I know how rigging is done now :)
