The beautiful weather? The wild and free women? Or perhaps the incredible music scene that will forever be immortalized. Regardless of what your answer may be, there is only one true statement; a mess. A rogue cop story in San Fierro, Detective Ray Vallard; an honest cop of the SFPD, is in hot pursuit of a notorious drug trafficker and murderer, Gerard DuBray. But when he had DuBray cornered and surrounded by fellow SFPD, he is betrayed by his own men and is shot and left for dead. At the hospital he is pronounced dead but really, he is put under a coma for an entire year. It is now 1975, Vallard has awoken and wants revenge. Raymond Paul Vallard [Born November 3rd, 1940] is a San Fierro native from the Murfree-Brougham district. In 1959, he enlisted himself in the Army and was stationed overseas during the beginning stages of the Vietnam War. He returned to his State of San Andreas with an honorable discharge in 1962 and based himself in Los Santos. Started working as a Unionized Longshoreman at the Port of Los Santos but decided to pursue law enforcement years later. He graduated the Police Academy and became a sworn-in Police Officer for his beloved San Fierro in 1969. He was involved in the pursuit for The Gemini Killer that same year. By 1974, he had become a very prestigious officer and Detective for the SFPD. That is, until his unfortunate betrayal. Left on the cold asphalt with multiple gunshot wounds on a rainy night, he would be put into a coma for the next year. When he awakens and gathers his strength, he embarks on a revenge mission against those that betrayed him and Drug Kingpin, DuBray. Ray drives a 1972 Schyster Deviant and carry's a loaded Combat Revolver. The Character List will be updated as the story progresses. STRANGLEHOLD consists of 3 large regions, which are divided into 6 counties. There are a total of 16 Cities and Towns. Including the city of Santiago, the States capital. The City and County of San Fierro "Oro en Paz, Fierro en Guerra." "How can I describe San Fierro in '75? One word... Mixed. The whole city is a melting pot of every seasoning in existence, it seems. Whatever you fancy, you can find it in San Fierro. Just gotta know where to look. It may sound like a wonderland to hippies and the gays, and in a way, it is. However, for a cop, it's a f*cking nightmare." Everyone's had that one cousin that always tries to one-up you. Well, that's Andreas Bay. It is a beautiful city. Visually pleasing. But, it suffers from identity crisis. It tries to look like San Fierro but doesn't want to be compared to San Fierro. No one will ever truly understand Andreas Bay... just like San Fierro." Each with their own Police force. Apart from their jurisdiction, you can tell them apart from their patrol car. But they all react differently to criminal activity. San Fierro Police Department Patrol Car For the most part, they're fair. But since it has been corrupted recently, there's been a change in protocol when it comes to drugs. For instance, any low-life dealer trying to sell anything on DuBray's turf, best believe that SFPD will come and give you a rough lesson in repercussions. But DuBray's dealers have full protection from the police. Andreas Bay Police Department Patrol Car We call them "The Dirty Dozen." Mainly because it seems like its always the same 12 officers on the streets. Don't get it twisted, they are a rough bunch. Their main focus is gang activity and The Black Panthers. Drugs do flow through the Andreas Bay streets. But to them, the real poison are the African-American gangs and the Black Panthers, who aren't even a gang. Port City Police Department Patrol Car Being a police officer for PCPD gotta be a walk in the park. No crime ever happens in Port City. But it's because of that, they respond with haste to any disturbance. They are very hostile to outsiders. So be careful. Sometimes I think Port City is a Sundown Town. I hope not. Trujillo Police Department Patrol Car Pretty much, Marines with Police Badges. They take protecting Trujillo very seriously. If you get pulled over and they ask you what your business is in Trujillo, you better have your story straight. Or else, You get to enjoy a weekend in a Trujillo jail, which is home to Captain Micah Umberland. With him, either you're gonna get f*cked up, or you're gonna get f*cked... He holds quite a reputation. Cano County Sheriffs Department Patrol Car The small towns of Cano County are all under one department. They're pretty friendly and understanding. But if it's one thing they look forward to, is a hot pursuit on the dirt roads. They love giving high-speed chases. Real Southern Style. "Nevermind what the post cards show in those fruity pictures of the Bay Area, gangs and organized crime syndicates have all made themselves at home here. Just know what neighborhoods to avoid, and be very careful who you piss off. You never know who knows who." Caffaro Crime Family - San Fierro's own Mafia Family. They run most of Northern San Fierro. From Angler Pier to Cabrera Heights, it is under Cosa Nostra control. Normally, they're not hostile outside of their turf. But they will, in fact, protect their neighborhoods by any means necessary. Their boss is Santino Caffaro, the son of Gaetano Caffaro who formed this mafia family in the 1930's. Santino does a good job running the family. They generate a lot of money and they fly below the radar. The Yakuza - A small Japanese syndicate out of Japantown. You don't hear a lot from them but they do run a round-the-clock betting station on Mercury Street. That's their biggest money maker and their most secured. Tough sons-of-bitches, they are. No one knows who runs them; but whoever does, lurks in the shadows. Very secretive. The Triads - The Chinese are a rough bunch of gun-toting Cowboys. Chinatown, their homebase, is split between two Triad factions. There's the Shadow Boy's from Gary Street in the Northern part of Chinatown, and there's the Wei Sing Tongs from Oak Street in the Southern part of Chinatown. After requisitioning half of the businesses, the Wei Sing Tong also have a crew operating in lower Kreischer Hill. La Rifa - A gang of Northern Mexicans from the Valenciano district. A gang that started in the Soledad State Prison in the 60's, quickly turned Valenciano into a gang stronghold. They identify themselves by their verbal codes and a small tattoo on their right hand. This gang is highly organized and they sell marijuana in large quantities throughout the city and beyond. They haven't had any violent events happen lately, so they haven't attracted a lot of police attention. For now. Angels of Death MC - There are two chapters in the Bay Area. AoDMC San Fierro in Murfree-Brougham and AoDMC Andreas Bay in Eastside Bay. One of the biggest Motorcycle Clubs in America, and one of the most violent. They run almost the entire market for Uppers and Downers in the Bay Area. Not friendly to outsiders. The Black Vanguard - What was supposed to be an empowering movement for Black People, turned into a criminal group of killers. In San Fierro, they call the Coltrane District home. In Andreas Bay, they call the Oscar Grant District home. The two factions seem to have a slight beef towards each other. But for the most part, their enemies are the San Fierro Rifa. Beacon Point Gangs - Beacon Point is split up by two gangs that fight each other constantly. Brick House Gang - Located on the Easternmost region of Beacon Point at the Highland Projects on Hayward Street. You notice them walking around with red sashes somewhere on their person. That indicates they are Brick House Gang members. North Beacon Butchers - Located a few blocks north of Highland Projects. This gang has been around since the 1940's at the Great Andreas Projects on New Street. Their insignia is a patch of two meat cleavers crossing each other at an X form behind the letters NBB. No colors. "Whoever says that guns weren't used a lot because we were men and men fight with their fists, is a f*cking bullsh*t liar. You can find guns literally anywhere in the city. The government outlawed the legal ownership of guns in 1968, but changed the law a little bit in 1975. If you're licensed, you can buy and own a pistol or revolver. Nothing else. Thanks for nothing, President Dorcester. Now, if you wanna buy a real weapon, find the right guy in the streets [i.e. whether he drives a van or has a backroom shop] and get yourself some real firepower." Any type of vehicle you're looking for, you'll definitely find it. If, and only if, you know where to find it. If you wanna steal a car, go ahead. I only recommend you be smart about it. Change the plates and the vin number. There are plenty of chop shops in the Bay Area that will do that for you. For a price, that is." STRANGLEHOLD features 141 different vehicles. Bell-Bottoms and loose shirts was mainly what the younger kids were wearing. And the hair? All over the place. Long hair and afros. You imagine it and it was a style in the Bay Area in '75. Of course, there were the older gentlemen that wore suits and ties along with their respected fedora's. Then there's guys like me, right in the middle. I wore a lot of turtlenecks and button-up's back in those days. Even rocked a beard. The Bee Gee's were very popular and everyone grew a beard. I remember platform shoes. What a mistake that was. How anyone wore those to the disco's is beyond me. The only people that wore black was the Mafia. No one else wore black apparently. At least that's what I heard anyway." STRANGLEHOLD features numerous clothing stores throughout the Bay Area. There are different classes, however. They all depend on where the clothing store is located. For instance, if you visit Mathers in Murfree-Brougham, you will see affordable clothes but their Face Levels will be low. Face Levels determine your bonus after completing missions and stunts. Another example, if you visit Ponsonby's in Middle Port City, they are way more expensive than Mather's. But, you will receive bonuses after completing missions and stunts. Keep in mind, there will be some missions that can only be accessed if you are wearing the required clothing. It can range from Casual to Executive. Be sure to start a collection of outfits in your wardrobe. You can access your wardrobe from your safehouses and other clothing stores you have shopped from. The only difference from the Safehouse and Clothing Store wardrobe is: You have access to all your clothing in your safehouse. Whereas in the clothing stores, aside from purchasing new clothes, you can only gain access to your saved Outfits at no additional price. You can change your hair style and facial hair. STRANGLEHOLD adopts the same barbershop system from Red Dead Redemption 2 but with more customizable options. In your safehouse, you can alter your appearance, if you'd like. You will have limited options, though. You can comb your hair, trim your beard, shave entirely, cut your hair entirely, etc. But the real options can only be accessed from the barbershops. Jewelry can also be purchased. Watches, Chains, Rings, Etc. MUSIC "The 70's was a great time for music. I experienced my 20's in the 60's and I thought music was great back then. sabitsuki
The choice of typeface reminds me a lot of Driver. Would love to see how the aesthetic develops with time. The protagonist sounds pretty epic, though he feels pretty derivative of Tanner imo, albeit with a Zodiac Killer twist. Looking forward to the story, gameplay, soundtrack and cars. Do tag this as a concept thread if you can. Edited January 13 by sabitsuki VenusianDream, H-G, South Beach Lomaz and 2 others 4
South Beach Lomaz
MISSION ONE: ...In the Line of Duty At the bottom left of the screen, the following text below will be typed in (you can hear the typewriter) into the screen San Andreas Street Kreischer Hill, San Fierro February 8th, 1974 Night - 10:23 PM Heavy Rain The camera pans slowly westward towards Route 212 in silence. Then the sounds of far-away police sirens are heard getting closer. Suddenly, a red 1975 Revolter races past the camera, heading eastbound on San Andreas Street, with multiple SFPD Patrol Cars in hot pursuit. The Revolter swerves left and right, avoiding the traffic and the street trolley. At the same time, the SFPD are losing grip of the chase and crash. Some remain, many are left behind. Inside the Revolter, we see The Driver focused on losing the pursuit and in the passenger seat is another man. The Driver is seen wearing casual clothing, whereas The Man is seen wearing an expensive suit. Though it is disheveled, it is still a nice suit. The Man speaks with a thick French accent towards the Driver. "Take Sing Avenue!" The Driver rips a left turn into Sing Avenue. The camera (in slow-motion) zooms into the rear license plate of the Revolter showing- ROCKSTAR GAMES PRESENTS The Revolter red-lines down Sing Avenue heading North. The Man notices that The Driver has lost the pursuit. "Ha! You lost them. Bon Travail! (Good job!) Now, get us to the docks." The camera now faces the Revolter from the hood, showing what's behind them. From Kings Street, a black 1970 Bravado Gauntlet drifts onto Sing Avenue and pursues the Revolter. The Man reacts- "Merde (sh*t). It's him. Stay focused." The Man grabs a Combat Assault Rifle from the back seat, takes aim at the Gauntlet, and fires. As the bullets fly towards the Gauntlet, the camera zooms into the Driver's face. Meet Detective Ray Vallard (Clean shaven). A skilled Driver. He swerves out of the line of fire while still maintaining speed. The camera will display a beautiful shot of Ray's Gauntlet drifting in the rain in slow-motion. On the hood of the Gauntlet, the text- A ROCKSTAR NORTH PRODUCTIONS being displayed as neon signs reflecting upon the hood. Ray reaches for his Radio- "This is 11-King in hot pursuit of DuBray. He's heading Northbound on Sing Avenue towards Thespian. Suspect is armed and dangerous." "Roger that, Detective." Back in the Revolter, The Man, now identified as DuBray, yells a commands towards The Driver. "You lose him. If he gets me, you will not live to see your trial. Comprende? (Understand?)" The Driver, visibly nervous, nods yes. His demeanor changes when he notices a police blockade up ahead. DuBray reacts- "Putain de merde! (Holy sh*t!) Turn, hurry!" The Driver rips a right turn, drifting into Ocean Avenue to avoid the blockade. Ray follows suit and maintains the chase. Ray takes out his Combat Revolver, takes aim towards the Revolter from his driver-side window, and shoots. The camera zooms very close to the bullet showing it in slow-motion. While spinning- Is seen carved into the bullet. Soon after the title is fully spun, camera zooms out and the slow-motion ends. That bullet kills The Driver by striking him in the back of the head after impacting the rear windshield. DuBray, in a panicked state, quickly grabs the wheel and kicks the Drivers corpse out of the car. "Come on, Vallard. Just you and me, now!" The camera now positions itself behind Ray's Gauntlet. The HUD's will appear on the screen on the corners. On the center of the screen- HOLD R2 TO ACCELERATE Now you, The Player, have control of Ray. Catch DuBray You are given an objective and you must complete it. Throughout the game, you will be given numerous objectives for all missions. You are now driving the Gauntlet. It is a very powerful and heavy vehicle. Keep in mind, the streets are still very much still populated and the rain is dropping hard. Be very careful with your next moves. DuBray will drive down Ocean Avenue, which is one-way, and will later on turn left onto Bowery Street heading Northbound, which is another one-way. Avoid the oncoming traffic as much as you can. You don't want to lose the pursuit. At the end of Bowery Street is Pier 66 in the Angler Pier District. DuBray will turn left and there you will be accompanied by other fellow SFPD Patrol Cars. There is another blockade ahead of DuBray, he turns right into the pier. Ray sees this as the end of the road "I got you now, DuBray." The pier is a dead-end. No escape for DuBray. Ray has been chasing him for an entire year. And now is his chance to close this case, once and for all. The camera shows the Revolter speeding down the pier but brakes very abruptly after noticing that this is the end of the road. And behind the Revolter is Ray Vallard along with multiple SFPD Officers. He is cornered. Ray and the other Officers exit their vehicles and position themselves behind their open driver-side door with their guns aimed at the Revolter. Among the Officers is Captain John Benson. He commands DuBray to exit the vehicle. "DuBray! You are surrounded. Throw your weapon out of the car, now!" His Combat Assault Rifle is seen flying out of the window. "Now, exit the vehicle with your hands up!" DuBray slowly exits the Revolter with his hands raised, complying with Benson's order. "Cuff him, Vallard." Ray approaches DuBray. This is their first time being this close. DuBray displays a smile on his face as Ray cuffs him. "You find this amusing?" DuBray takes a deep breath in and exhales with- "You'll see very soon... Detective Vallard." Captain Benson holsters his gun and commands most of the officers to disperse the scene. "I want everybody to go and secure the perimeter! Keats, Copeland, and Dominguez please remain here." The area is cleared leaving only a select few at the scene. Ray questions this unorthodox protocol. "Captain, what the Hell is this?" "Relax, Vallard. Everything is going exactly to plan." "What plan?" Benson approaches DuBray and uncuffs him. DuBray lets out a deep exhale of relief and massages his wrists. Ray sees this and reacts. "Benson, what the f*ck?" Benson remains silent. DuBray, with a menacing smile, speaks. "This is what I find amusing, Detective Vallard. In fact, I find this, uhh how you say... Theatrical." Captain Benson- "This is business, Ray. You'll understand." Benson walks to Officers Keats, Copeland, and Dominiguez. "Keats, I need you to take DuBray to the pick up point in the boat. Copeland, you go with them. Dominguez, get in contact with your cousins and start offloading the sh*t." As Benson continues talking to the corrupts officers, DuBray makes his way to a small boat that's docked. Ray, angry at the situation, approaches DuBray from behind. He strikes DuBray in the back of his head with the butt of his revolver, making him fall head-first into the boat; leaving him unconscious. Ray hops into the boat, starts it and accelerates out of the dock. Benson, Keats, Copeland, and Dominguez shoot at Ray. Once again, you have have control of Ray. Escape! You have a large body of water ahead of you. You don't have a set destination as of yet. You must rip through the violent waters of the San Fierro Bay. Keep in mind, the weather is still very rainy and windy. At the same time, avoid the SFPD Boats that will be coming after you. DuBray will wake up, Ray will automatically aim his revolver at DuBray- "Where's the pick-up point?" "Qu'est-ce que c'est que ça? (What the f*ck is this?)" "The pick-up point. Benson mentioned it to Keats and Copeland. What was he talking about?" "[Laughs] This is very bold move, Vallard. You've killed yourself, just now." Ray strikes him in the face with the revolver. "Tell me, now!" "[Breathing heavy] A port in Bayside. My associates will be waiting there to take me away." "Then let's not keep them waiting." You will be equipped with a Combat Assault Rifle and a Combat Shotgun, as the boat was fully equipped with weapons. Now, you will be given a destination. Head to Ferry Pier, Bayside You don't want to kill fellow Officers. But you can shoot the motors and cause gasoline to spill, causing the boats to turn off. Once you arrive at Ferry Pier, a total of 13 armed men will be there. Ray will grab DuBray by his shirt and get on the dock. Ray positions DuBray in front of him while pressing the revolver to the back of his head. He whistles to get the men's attention. They respond by aiming their weapons at Ray. "Were you waiting for this man? Huh?" There is silence. "As you can see, it's not going to plan. So let me make this clear. [Cocks the revolver] This can end one of two ways. And if you're smart, you'll choose the easy way. Otherwise, they'll be a lot of you not going home to your families tonight. So what will it be?" They don't respond. "What will it be!?" They still don't respond. "You're choice." Ray spins DuBray around and shoots him in the chest. DuBray goes down, his associates take position and fire at Ray. Ray takes cover behind a wooden crate. You have control of Ray. Kill the Mercenaries This will be considered a tutorial on gunfights. Ray has military training so he has control over his breathing and his movements. You can maneuver from cover to cover. You can enter precision mode with any weapon. You have to option to dual wield two handguns, and two shotguns. Throughout the storyline, you can upgrade Ray's skills so you reload quickly, seek ammo quickly, etc. Once the fight is over- Ray looks around the scene with an emotionless expression. He notices a trail of blood where DuBray corpse should be. Follow the Blood Trail Throughout the storyline, there will be sequences where you will have to investigate certain areas and collect clues. [Like L.A. Noire]. While following the trail, you will see indications floating mid-air, showing the location of clues. The clues found are: Gold Ring Size 11 Foot Print Revolver Bullet Casing Each clue found, Ray will make a mental note of it. At the end of the trail, Ray will see DuBray limping his way to a SFPD Patrol Car; assisted by Officer Copeland. It is revealed that DuBray had on a bulletproof vest on. But he was shot in the right leg, which explains the blood trail. Ray gets cornered by the corrupt SFPD Officers as they have their guns aimed at him. Captain Benson exits his vehicle, lights a cigarette, and gives the order- "Kill him." The officers shoot Ray numerous times. Life escapes his body with each bullet penetrating him. He falls to the ground. Copeland talks to Benson. "What do we with him, Captain?" "We have any of the brown handy?" "Yeah. Why?" "Inject him with a good amount and call it in. We stopped a Heroin-crazed cop gone rogue. It'll look good for the news." "Yes, Sir." Camera zooms in on Ray's eyes and slowly fade to black. Flashes of newspaper clippings and news reels appear on the screen talking about an unnamed cop with a heroin addiction causing a string of crimes throughout San Fierro, being shot down on a rainy night in Bayside. He is confirmed Dead on Arrival. Scrren goes back to black and the following text appear being typed in on the bottom left of the screen. Kint Port City Field Hospital Middle Port City, Port City July 4th, 1975 Day - 9:44 A.M. Sunny It is now a year later, you are in a different setting. Listen to what the Man Said by Sir Paul McCartney and Wings is heard playing from a small radio in a hospital room. The camera pans around this small hospital room, showing our Protagonist, Ray Vallard, in a comatose state. His hair and beard has grown tremendously. A young nurse enters the room- "Okay, Mr. Froman. Let's welcome some sun into this room, shall we?" She opens up the curtains, showing the beautiful weather. "How about some music, Mr. Froman?" She increases the volume of the radio as the song finishes and fades out. After the song ends, the DJ for the radio station gives a daily news update. "That was what the man said, according to Sir Paul McCartney and his band, Wings. A massive hit from the U.K. flooding the American airwaves. Here at Amber Strait Radio, we keep the good vibes going. But for now, some news from the beautiful city of San Fierro. It was reported that the new Chief of Police has been sworn into his office just moments ago. John Benson, who served as a Captain for the SFPD for many years, will now bestow upon San Fierro a great service as the new Chief of Police. Congratulations, Chief Benson. And now, back to the vibes. Here's Killer Queen, by none other than the eccentric phenomena from the U.K., Queen." As Benson's name is heard from the radio, Ray's heartbeat increases until he becomes responsive for the first time in over a year. The Young Nurse, who had exited the room earlier, walks back in to check on Ray. But gets startled when hearing Ray speak for the first time. "[Weak] Benson. Copeland." The Nurse rushes out of the room to call in the doctor. The Doctor comes in- "Eliane, make the call. Hurry!" The Nurse runs out of the room, the doctor leans closer to Ray. "Mr. Vallard, can you hear me?" "[Weak] Where am I?" "You're in Kint Hospital in Port City. I'm Dr. Alan Reid." "[More collected] How did I get here?" "You were brought in by a friend. You've been in a coma since February of last year." "What's today?" "4th of July, 1975. You were out for over a year." Nurse Elaine comes in- "Doctor, he's here. He was already coming in to visit, Mr. Froman." "Good. Bring him in." Moments later, a Man walks in. "Hey Doc, how is he?" "He's responsive." "Good. Let me have a moment with him." "Sure." Dr. Reid leaves. The Man sits on a chair next to Ray. This Man is Private Investigator Michael Porter, a close friend of Ray's. "Hey Ray, you finally made it back to Earth?" "Porter? What are you doing here?" "I was the one that brought you here." "What?" "It's a long story. But nevermind that. You're back and that's all that matters. Now you just focus on getting your strength back and we can get your out of here." Ray looks out of the window and thinks about that fateful night that out him in a coma. While breathing heavy, he mutters- "Benson." "What?" "Benson. Keats. Copeland. Dominguez... DuBray." "Try not to talk about them. It's not gonna bring any good." "Get me out of here, Porter." "I think it's too soon for that. You just woke up after sleeping for a year." "Now, Porter!" "I guess we can rule out the Strip Club celebration. Okay, then, Let's go." Porter helps unhook Ray from the machines and the IV. Then he helps Ray get up on his feet. He is still very weak in the legs and requires Porter to keep him up. Porter helps walk Ray to his car, which is parked in the lot across the street from the hospital. Porter drives a Black 1967 Declasse Impaler Sedan. He helps Ray get into the passenger seat. And yes, he still has the hospital gown on. Porter starts his car and drives off and makes his way to his residence in Roxbury, Andreas Bay. "What happened, Porter?" "You know what happened. Keats, Copeland, and Dominguez turned you into swiss cheese." "I mean after that. How were you able to get me to Kint Hospital in Port City. I would assume I was under Benson's custody." "I have my ways. Let's just say I heard about you turning loco at Angler Pier and kept listening. Benson already ordered EMT's to Ferry Pier. Almost like he knew you were gonna be there." "He did." "You wanna tell me what happened that night or I am gonna have to get you drunk first?" "[Laughs] Real charming, Porter." "I try. Now back to business." "What business is that?" "You. What are you gonna? You're a free man." "A free man?" "Yeah. Everyone who wanted you dead, thinks you're dead. So what now? You gonna take your family and move to Venturas like you said you wanted to do?" "I'm going after Benson." "Wait, what? Did you say suicide?" "And Copeland, Keats, Dominguez. And most importantly, DuBray. I'm taking all of them down." "Why? Because they shot you a couple times? Why not just retire and write a memoir like everyone else?" "Before I almost got DuBray, Helen divorced me." "I know, I remember. So?" "All I had left was this case. It kept me busy. Kept my mind off the divorce. And they took that away from me. Tried to kill me, and let DuBray loose. I can't just start over and live a new life. Not before I take theirs." "These are Police Officers we're talking about. And Benson is the new Chief of Police for SFPD. Untouchable." "I was a cop once. I wasn't untouchable. So this makes no difference to me. So either you're with me or you're not. No one's got a gun to your head." "Well that's not far. I'm the best friend so yeah, I'm with you." "I know." "Wow. Such a dick move. Anyway, here we are." They arrive at Porter's residence in Roxbury. A beautiful Old-Style Home built in 1911. "Nice place. I don't how a douche like you can afford this on a Private Investigators salary." "Was that a joke? I can't tell. You know I come from a rich family." "How can I forget? [Sarcasm] The Porter Family, one of the original founders of Andreas Bay." "Has it's benefits. Come on." Porter leads Ray into the home. It has a mesmerizing interior. "Make yourself at home. You can have the guest bedroom upstairs. And help yourself to whatever clothes I have in my closet. Whatever fits. What have they been feeding you in there?" "Wish I knew. Thank you." "Don't mention it. Remember, I'm the best friend. Get yourself cleaned up. We have a new day tomorrow." Make your way to your Room Once you head upstairs, your room will be the first door on the right. Porters will be the last door on the left. Head to his room to grab a change of clothes. Which will be a Jean Button-up shirt with a wide-collar, a black pair of slacks with bell-bottoms, and a pair of brown leather casual shoes. In order to complete this mission, you must head to your bed, which is also how you save your progress. Save your game and your hours will forward 6 hours. Mission Complete You have unlocked a new mission and a new safehouse in Andreas Bay. You have full access to the STRANGLEHOLD map. There are no map restrictions. Just know that if certain police officers see your face, it will automatically get your 3 stars on your wanted level. RamsaySaint77
When it comes to San Fierro, I prefer the Late 1960s since that's when the counterculture movement and all the stuff was at it's peak and it was in major decline by the mid 70s especially with the Vietnam war being over, but this is still an interesting concept for sure as the 1970s haven't been done much sadly Also maybe you could include The Many Wifes of Alfredo Smith as movies to watch since that movie came out in 1975 in the hd universe Edited January 24 by RamsaySaint77 sabitsuki and Ivan1997GTA
sabitsuki
Interesting selection of cars, though I feel better names could have been used for some of them. For the Dirty Harry vibe you're going for the first mission fits the aesthetic to a T. A somewhat strong start, but I think the language could be a lot more crass. It is the mid-70s, after all. If I could offer critique, I would say that the radio stations could use a bit of a remodeling. Can't say I'm a big fan of the music in general, they feel ripped straight off the billboards with the typical 70s fare like Lady Marmalade and Never Can Say Goodbye. A number of the stations feel sort of redundant as well, and I don't why you shouldn't just merge them together into one continuous station, not to mention some of them being kinda unfitting to this Driver-ish depiction of San Fierro you're going for. I think it might be a good idea to cut back on the number of stations and simply just stick to a strong few stations that each have their own unique and memorable identity. The soundtrack for the 70s Era of Driver: PL is a good place to start digging for some awesome tunes. Anyway, good work. I kinda want to see the activities section get filled up next. South Beach Lomaz
To both @RamsaySaint77 and @sabitsuki Thank you both for your feedback on my concept. I appreciate any and all criticism towards making my Concept better for the consumer. To answer your concerns: @RamsaySaint77, I chose 1975 because of the decline of counterculture and the end of the Vietnam War. A year in which most of the best cars ever manufactured were already in the streets. From American Muscle to Sport. Not to mention, the harsh reality of drugs during the 1970's. The late 60's was a free-spirited era of Hallucinogens and herbs; and as a bonus, incredible music. Then there's the mid-70's, Heroin ravaged the streets and the rise of street crime was tremendous. Especially in the Bay Area. I'm not from there originally. I'm from Miami IRL, but I've lived in the Bay Area a good portion of my life. From age 19 to 24. I will be putting all the hours possible to bring forth an original concept that everyone can enjoy. To @sabitsuki, I will improve on the Radio Stations and the Car names. I agree with your point after really looking at it. If you don't mind giving me some more pointers, that would be great. And I am currently working on the Activities section and the rest of the details of the opening post. And the language will definitely be plenty crass in the coming missions. The Coconut Kid
This is the closest thing to feeding my Driver fix. How are you coming along with the features and activities? @South Beach Lomaz You've made a strong impression with your opening missions. It's also a real plus that you've lived in the Bay Area and know the history of the place. Show us more soon! And I highly recommend editing your post so that this includes a CONCEPT tag. It's been hard to find this thread!
The Notorious MOB
I'm actually only now discovering this. The lack of concept tags actually make a lot of difference. As others have said, this is very similar to the Driver series, especially the plot of Parallel Lines. I do however think there's quite a bit of potential here. Especially if more of the emphasis was put on a Mexico setting, rather than the 70s San Fierro that we've seen a few times before. It makes sense that over time, Ray's pursuit of DuBray and his associates would take him to the seedy parts south of the border and possibly get him mixed up with the burgeoning cartel and the corrupt military/government elements there. Keeping PL's revenge plot in mind this would probably seem sort of similar to Red Dead Redemption, but there's also potential there to bring in some Max Payne 3 type Neo-noir elements and perhaps take some inspiration from the likes of Robert Rodriguez movies and some '70s exploitation flicks. South Beach Lomaz
@The Coconut Kid I am now making changes to the concept. I don't know I'll post another mission but I refuse to go a long time without a mission. Thanks to @The Notorious MOB, he gave me an idea and working on keeping this an original GTA story with some Driver inspiration instead of just basing this whole thing on Driver. I'm going to binge-watch Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino movies for more ideas. This will have a new and different feeling soon. South Beach Lomaz
I-II: Deviant Michael Porter's Residence Roxbury, Andreas Bay July 5th, 1975 Day - 8:13 A.M. Sunny For this next mission, it will automatically start once you make your way down the stairs. It should be the next morning now, approximately 8 AM. Ray heads downstairs and sees Porter sitting at his dining table with a finished plate of his breakfast, smoking a cigarette, and reading the Andreas Bay Tribune. The front page reads "EPA Study Says '74 Cars Are Too Smoggy." However, Porter wasn't one to read actual news. He was reading the funnies and the Sports Section. "Anything good in the news?" Ray asks. "I don't know. But this Dunceville comic is hilarious. [Laughs] What a f*cking idiot." "Glad to see you keeping up with what's going on in the world." "Hey, now. Dunceville is just a cartoon display of what's happening in the White House. For example, today's edition shows this guy, who suppose to be the first President of Cape Verde, talking to President Lynch saying "Hey, we share the same title finally." And Lynch says "Five minutes and I already don't like you." [Laughs] Like, that's genius." Ray looks at Porter like he's an idiot. "[Sarcastic] Right. Sounds hilarious." "f*ck you. This...is premium entertainment." "Yeah, for 5-year-olds. Look, I need a ride somewhere." "Where? The land of go f*ck yourself?" "The land of where the f*ck is my car. You got any idea?" Porter takes one more drag from his cigarette and ashes it on his ashtray. He exhales a cumulus cloud of smoke and puts on his blazer that was on the back of his chair. "It's better if I show you. Come on." Porter and Rob leave the house. Once Ray is outside, on Porter's porch, you now have control of him. Porter asks Ray, "You wanna drive?" "Yeah sure. You got enough gas in this thing?" "About as much as you after a cup of coffee." Enter Porter's Impaler "Where we going?" "Make your way to San Fierro. Take Highway 48 to get on the Fierro-Andreas Bridge." "Uh, yeah I got it. I didn't forget how to get around, you know." "Just making sure." Drive to San Fierro Your HUD will display the fastest and safest route to your destination. But, it isn't always reliable. But thankfully, Ray has a vast knowledge of all of the streets and alleyways. So on the HUD, it will show a Blue line along the streets. That's the suggested route. But if there are more daredevil ways to get to your destination or to escape pursuit, or even when you're giving pursuit, a Red line will appear, breaking away from the Blue line. That's the Street Smart Route. In this sequence, just follow the Blue line. Porter's Impaler does have power but it has a slower acceleration than Ray's Deviant. It is a good car for commuting but be careful with the turns. The car is heavy and you don't want to oversell your turn. You're liable to flip over. You will learn that each car in STRANGLEHOLD has its own attributes, Pros, and Cons. Learn them to choose your car wisely, depending on certain situations. The Amber Strait Radio station will be playing automatically. It is Porter's favorite station. Each character has their preference on certain aspects of the gameplay. For example, Porter enjoys Amber Strait Radio and is a big fan of Fleetwood Mac. Now, the radio station only offers certain songs but if you connect your Spotify account to your Social Club Account, you can play entire albums from STRANGLEHOLD'S soundtracks. The albums available from Spotify are listed in Media Content. As you drive to San Fierro, take this time to learn the controls of driving. For instance, When you are following the GPS Route, your vehicle will use its turning signals automatically. If you wish to use it manually, hold down X for PS or A for XBOX and press either < or > on the directional pad. You can use Cruise-Control as well. Tab the Touchpad for PS or the View Button for XBOX and it will show the odometer. That means Cruise-Control is on and you have to set the speed. Once you reached your desired speed, tab the Touchpad or View Button again and you are now using Cruise-Control. A feature that is useful for Auto-Drive, as well. Auto-Drive gives you the chance to enjoy a realistic drive without having to worry about swerving around asshole AI drivers. Once you have Cruise-Control running, hold down the Touchpad or View Button and Ray will drive himself. You can change the camera by pressing O for PS or B for XBOX. Your options are the default camera, Car Interior Camera, First Person Hood Camera, and Cinematic Camera. It can also be used for chases as well. To give you a real cinematic sense. Upon arriving at your destination, it will always lead you to an available parking spot. This feature can be changed in your settings. While in Auto-Drive, Ray will automatically park the car himself. Only if there is no chase occurring. "So where am I going once I get to San Fierro?" "Head to Tercer Street in Dutch Flats." "Okay. What's over there?" "There's a good chance your car is there. But there's also a good chance that it's not there." "What? So my car may or may not be on Tercer Street?" "That's right." "Why would it be there? What even is over..." "Yyyyeah." "The f*cking Chop Shop!?" "Don't shoot the messenger, Ray. Like you just said. It may or MAY NOT be there. We'll find out one way or another." Drive to Remar's Auto Yard Once your cross the bridge, continue heading down I-69 then switch over to 202 South then take Exit 210. Welcome to Dutch Flats. A half industrial and half residential neighborhood adjacent to the waterfront. Continue straight to get on Banderas Drive for 8 blocks then turn left onto Tercer Street. Remar's Auto Yard is located on the corner to your left. "My car better f*cking be here." "Really? If it is, that means it's chopped up already." "You just know the right things to say, huh Porter?" "It's a blessing and a curse." Enter Remar's Auto Yard Ray and Porter enter the establishment and see a man at the counter, taking a nap on his chair. "Look at this, Ray. Napping in this economy." "It's time to wake him up, then." Ray will approach the man and tip over his chair, causing him to scream and fall. "What the sh*t!? Ow! My f*cking arm, Man." "Hi, I'm Porter and this gorilla is my friend, Ray Vallard. Did we come at a bad time?" "What the Hell do you guys want?" Ray grabs the young man by the collar- "1972 Schyster Deviant. With the original yellow paint. My friend says it's here. I'm here to get it back. Now, where is it?" "I don't f*cking know. If it was here, it's in pieces, by now." "Told you." Says Porter with a grin. "Then I guess you're no use to me at all. Porter, find me a wrench." The young man panics- "A wrench? What the f*ck do you need a wrench for?" "Here's a 1 and 1/4." "That'll do just fine." "WAIT A f*ckING MINUTE!" Porter hands Ray the wrench- "You know, back in 'Nam, we had to make do with whatever we had. Sometimes it meant getting creative with the interrogation. But I also found the wrench, the best tool for a make-shift torture session. Let's start with the knees, shall we? You sticking around, Porter?" "I'm going out for a smoke. Let me know when you're done with this prick." The young man, scared to death, exclaims- "Wait! Wait! Please. I can help you find your car. I-I-I just need more details." "Okay, then. Now we're talking. Now, let's start over." "You gonna let me go?" "No." "Okay." "Now, again, a yellow 1972 Schyster Deviant. Hasn't been driven in over a year. Where is it?" "Now makes you think I know where it is?" Porter chimes in- "I've been following a track trying to get this car back. For the most part, the Deviant was stored at the impound. Then in April, the car moves from car lot to car lot. And the trail gets cold here two weeks ago. How long you've been working here?" "Since February." "That is what makes us think you know something." Ray- "He's a good PI. Now, back to my car." "Look, I don't know about a '72 Deviant. The only cars I've seen come through here in the last couple of weeks were broken down Albany's. If your Deviant was here, it had to be shipped out that same day. Mr. Vega doesn't like keeping hot cars here." "Mr. Vega?" "Yeah. My Boss. Jimmy Vega." "So where does he ship the hot cars to?" "His other garage. I got the address behind the counter." "Okay. Go get it." Ray finally lets go of the young man. He goes to the back of the counter and hands Ray a card. "It's on 501 Ross Avenue in North Ward." "Thank you, uh. What's your name?" "Why? In case you gotta find me and hurt me if I rat?" "No, just saying thank you." "Oh. It's Samson. But everyone calls me Sammy." "Okay, Sammy. Thank you. And uh, I will definitely find you and hurt you if you rat." "Oh, God." Porter- "I gotta say, 10/10 customer service. Have a blessed day, now." Drive to 501 Ross Avenue "Glad to see you didn't lose that Ray Vallard charm." "It's like riding a bicycle." "Sure it is, you f*cking psycho. Take Tercer all the way down. It'll get you to North Ward." "But then I'll hit all that traffic." "If you got a better way to get there, be my guest. I'm insured." Remember the Blue and Red line in the HUD? Well, now follow the Red Line. The Blue line will make you hit all types of traffic. The Red line will get you there in no time. Take the Rotterdam Freeway North and make your way to exit 57. Turn right on Bueller Street and go down three blocks, then turn left on Tercer Street. Once you reach Mercado Street, make a slight right onto Whitfield Street. After about nine blocks, turn left onto Columbia Ave. and immediately turn right onto Ross Ave. The garage should be on the fourth corner to your left. Welcome to North Ward. Almost considered San Fierro's Little Italy. The Italian culture is heavy in this neighborhood. With the Italian flag waving on every corner, the aroma of authentic Italian food being cooked, and the logo for the San Fierro Packers seen at every establishment. But keep in mind, that this is a mob-run neighborhood. The Caffaro Family use North Ward as their home base. It is best to avoid causing trouble here. Enter the Garage Ray and Porter enter the garage. There is a man working on a white Washington to the left and to the right, by the office, is a group of 4 men sitting around a table playing poker while drinking scotch and smoking cigarettes. Ray announces from the middle of the garage- "I'm looking for a Jimmy Vega." Everyone stopped what they were doing and look at Ray and Porter with cautionary eyes. The mechanic even has his monkey wrench ready. Porter- "Yellow 1972 Schyster Deviant. We were told this Vega guy knows about it." A voice from the office speaks- "I do." A man walks out of the office sporting a pornstache, a brown leather jacket, a white button-down shirt, and a full head of hair styled with a side part, and sideburns down to his ear lobe. "I'm Jimmy Vega. Who told you about me?" Ray- "That's not important. What is important is you know something about where my car is, and I want it back." "A yellow '72 Deviant. I may know of one." "Where is it?" "Now I didn't say I knew where it was. I said I may know of one." "Why are you wasting my time?" "Question is why are you so infatuated with this car?" "It's my car. It's all I got left." "I see. And what happened? Why did it get repossessed?" "I was away for over a year." "Prison?" "You can call it that." "Alright. I think I can help you and at the same time, you can help me." "What do you have in mind?" "I know who has your car. His name's Dennis Kelly. Degenerate f*cking gambler who owes me a f*ck-ton of green. And he doesn't plan on paying me back. Says he found some new friends. Well, he still owes his old friends." "So what is it that you want?" "You give him the beating of a lifetime. So bad that he can't even turn to God for help. After that, you take your car back. I'll even change the plates and the VIN for you, so it's clean." "It was already clean, though." "True. But, he was the legit owner of the car. He runs to the cops and he tells them you took his car, they're gonna be looking for a yellow '72 Deviant with the plate and VIN number he provided. And they're not gonna care that it was your car first. Understand?" "Yeah, I understand." "Alright. He lives in Rey Valley. 350 Alderney Street. You can't miss it. It's the white house with your car on the driveway." "Got it. Thanks." "No problem. Do good with this, I might have more work for you in the future." "I'm not interested but thanks." Drive to Rey Valley Rey Valley is in the Southern region of San Fierro. Choose any route to get there. Porter- "How come you didn't take him up on his offer?" "What?" "Vega. He offered you work and you said not interested. Why is that?" "Why would I work for a wannabe Mobster?" "He's not a wannabe." "Oh really? What is he, then?" "I looked up Mr. Vega some months ago for a client he was f*cking. He's no joke, Ray. He's a well-connected man with the Mob and drug dealers. He's their, quote-unquote, car dealer. Any car these mob-type guys want, he gets it for them and charges them what they think is a good price. North Ward is where he does most of his business." "So why doesn't he send some goombah's to this Dennis Kelly instead of sending me?" "Guys like him always want to form an independent crew away from the Mob. It's the lack of trust." "I'm not trying to be part of any crew." "I'm not saying you have to. But you're gonna need work, Ray. Work that pays. I don't think applying back to the force as a Meter Maid is gonna work." "That was so funny, I forgot to laugh. Still, though, I don't know. How do I jump jacks like that? I mean, I've done everything right my entire life. Went to 'Nam, served my country, worked as a Longshoreman, joined the Police Force. I can't switch like that." "Yes, you can." "How?" "You've done everything right. And you still ended up nearly dying from gunshots and a big hit of H done by the hands of your, so-called, brothers in the force. Don't think of it as jumping jacks. Think of it as... showing them how pissed you are. No code of conduct, no protocol, no nothing. Just an angry man with a gun. But even that man needs to make money. Guys like Jimmy Vega are the ones that always have work." "I'll think about it." Once you arrive at the destination, Ray will park the Impaler across the street. Just as Jimmy Vega described it, the white house with the yellow '72 Deviant on the driveway. In front of the house are three men. Neither Ray nor Porter knows what Dennis Kelly looks like. Porter- "One of these hoods is Dennis Kelly. How the Hell do we figure that out?" "Well, they don't know us, right?" "Right. What are you getting at?" "I can just walk past them and try to hear their conversation. They won't suspect anything unless I make it obvious." "Okay, that sounds like a good plan. Only one issue, though?" "What?" "What happens when we do find out who Dennis is? We gonna jump all three guys? The two of us?" "Hmm... We gotta get them to separate. And I think I know how." "Pray tell." "Okay. One of us can sneak around the side of the house and cause some noise. One of these idiots will go towards it." "And however makes the sound, knocks out Idiot #1. Leaving two." "A fair fight. I don't care what happens to the other two. Dennis is the one that's gotta be f*cked up." "Okay, here's what we'll do. We'll simply walk past them and see if they reveal who Dennis is. Then I'll sneak around the house and draw one of them away. Once you see me walking back to you, we start fighting them." "Sounds good. Let's do this." Ray and Porter exit the Impaler. Discreetly walk past the trio Your goal is to not draw any attention to yourself. Don't run and don't be armed. There will be a white circle on the ground, which is the indicator that shows the range of the conversation. Stay within the circle to hear clearly. Once you step into the circle, time will slow down just a little, and the conversation will sound more amplified. Ray and Porter start walking past the trio and listening as soon as you enter the circle. "I don't care what anyone says. You cannot convince me that the Boars will make it to the finals this year." "Okay. I hear that. But what makes you think that the Packers have a chance? The way they're playing now, it's better to watch two dogs f*ck each other." "What are you talking about? We beat the Boars yesterday. Oh my God. Hey Dennis, you hear this f*cking guy?" A yellow indicator will appear over Dennis. "The Browns are gonna take it this season. Guarantee." "The day that happens, I'll shave my body hair and run around the streets naked." "I'd rather watch two dogs f*cking each other." Ray and Porter split up. Porter sneaks his way to the right side of the house. You must position Ray in a location. You are given three choices. By the Impaler across the street, by the hedge where you just walked past, and behind the Deviant. The best choice would be by the Impaler. Now that you are in position, hold down L1 for PS, LB for XBOX and the weapon wheel will appear. On the top right of the screen, you will see the text "Porter is in position. Choose his next move." Normally, you have multiple choices to choose from but this time it's just one. "Hit O for PS or B for XBOX to cause a distraction." Porter will break a window making a noise loud enough for the trio to react to it. "What the f*ck was that?" "I don't know, check it out." "Isn't this your house, Dennis?" "Just do it." Goon #1 will make his way towards Porter. Stay hidden by the Impaler until you see Porter walking away. Soon as you see Porter- Confront Dennis Kelly Both Ray and Porter will approach Dennis and his associate. Ray will say- "Dennis Kelly?" "Uh, yes?" "Jimmy Vega says hello." Ray will automatically throw a devastating punch at Dennis and the fight will commence. You will notice, that the fighting controls have changed drastically since GTA V. Here is the tutorial. You have just started a fistfight. Put your dukes up and get ready to throw punches. Pay attention to your HUD. To the upper left corner of your screen, you will see four bars with different colors. RED BAR is your health. If it reaches 50%, your movements will be slower and less coordinated. If it reaches 10%, you will likely fall to the ground to defend yourself. If it reaches 0%, you will be knocked out and will wake up two hours later on the same spot with most likely less money and ammo. WHITE BAR is your stamina. The less work you do in the gym will determine the pace and regeneration of your stamina. If you do no work in the gym, your stamina will go down fast and take a long while to regenerate. If you accomplish a level in the gym, your stamina won't go down as fast and will regenerate faster. There are 12 levels to reach. The more you reach, the more you can last in a fight. GREEN BAR is the strength of your previous punch. Be sure to watch this one. The harder you hit, the faster your stamina depletes. Keep that in mind. YELLOW BAR is your finisher. Complete moves in fights to build it up. Once it reaches 100%, you can activate a special finishing move. To the upper right corner of your screen are the bars for your opponent. Use that to your advantage to calculate your next move. Your opponent is getting ready to swing. Notice the red aura outline on his person, press TRIANGLE for PS or Y for XBOX to dodge and counter. Time it correctly and you will dodge and deliver a devastating blow to your opponent. Time it early, you will only dodge the punch. Time it too late and you will get hit. Your opponent is dazed. Take this chance to throw a punch. Press SQUARE for PS or X for XBOX to throw a normal punch. Press and hold the punch button and with enough charge up, you will throw a Power Punch. Press O for PS or B for XBOX to grab your opponent. Once you grab him, utilize the Right Thumbstick to throw punches. [Just like The Godfather The Video Game. If you haven't played it DO IT NOW!] Move the RTS to the left and you will throw a left hand punch. Move the RTS to the right and you will throw a right hand punch. Move the RTS left then up and you will throw a left hand uppercut. Move the RTS right then up and you will throw a right hand uppercut. Move the RTS up for a headbutt, Move the RTS down then up for a more powerful headbutt. Move the RTS left then down for a left hand punch and knee to the abdomen combo. Move the RTS right then down for a right hand punch and knee to the abdomen combo. Move the RTS down then left for a charged up right knee to the abdomen. Move the RTS down then right for a charged up right knee to the abdomen. To let go of your opponent, hit O or B again. He's going for another punch! Dodge it and counter his strike with a combo. When you see the red aura outline, hit TRIANGLE or Y then immediately hit SQUARE or X three twice then hold it for the third time. He is completely dazed now. Finish him. Your YELLOW BAR is at 100%. Get close to your opponent and click R3. Ray performs a finisher on Dennis, ending the fight. Porter would also finish his fight with Goon #2. Porter will comment- "I see a coma hasn't slowed you down." "Yeah. But I'm winded." "I bet. You need to hit the gym." "Yeah, f*ck you, too." "Just saying." "Alright. Let's see if this cocksucker has the keys to my car." Ray grabs Dennis by the collar. "The keys to the Deviant. Where is it?" Dennis very weakly says "In my pocket. Here." He hands the keys to Ray. "Good. Now come with me." "Where we going?" "I'm taking you to Vega." "Oh, f*ck." There's an indicator at the trunk of your car. Grab Dennis by pressing O or B and dragging him there. "You're putting me in the trunk?" "Yeah. I don't need you bleeding in my car." "But it's my car." Ray punches Dennis. "Oops, sorry. I slipped and hit you." Ray will throw Dennis in the trunk and close it Get in your car Ray will get in the car. "Nice to have you back, Baby." Now pull up next to Porter's Impaler. He will be in his car by now. "You happy now, Ray?" "Very." "Good. Your car still has the CB radio?" "Yeah." "Put it on channel 3." "Okay. Done." [On the CB] "We should be able to communicate like this." "Oh, nice. Good thinking. Now that I got my car back, how about a little race?" "Oh really? Where to?" "Back to Vega's garage in North Ward. What do you say?" "You're on." "Let's meet at the corner." "Okay." Go to the Starting Line You are now in an illegal street race. No rules. Only a start and finish. Cops will give chase and enemies as well. Remember to use the Street Smart Route on your Map. The route will display jumps, cops, traffic jams, shortcuts, and of course your racing opponents. "Okay, Ray. I'm sorry for you. This Impaler is gonna f*ck you up." "We'll see about that." "Okay, on the count of three. You remember how to count right?" "f*ck you." "Okay, let's do this. 1... 2... 3!" TAKE OFF Try your best to win the race. Ray's Deviant may have a fast acceleration by Porter's Impaler has a faster speed. The Deviant can eat turns easier than the Impaler. Keep that in mind. *At the finish line* If you lose- "What happened, Ray? Was I too fast for you?" "Another word, I put a bullet in your car." If you win- "Porter loses to Ray Vallard once again. Story of his life." [Mimicking Ray] "Porter loses to Ray Vallard again." [Laughs] "You're not mad, are you? Because clearly, this wasn't a competition." "Ray... f*ck you." Ray drives his Deviant inside Vega's garage. Vega exits his office and walks toward Ray. "Now that is a nice car. I can see why you wanted it so bad." [Exiting the car] "Yeah." "Good. So I take it that Mr. Kelly is taken care of?" "Even better. Come check it out." Ray opens the trunk and shows Vega the now-beaten-up Dennis Kelly. "Jesus Christ! I didn't know you were gonna f*ck him up this bad. Good work. [Towards workers] Hey! Clean this car up." "What are they doing?" "Exactly what I say I'd do. I'm giving this car a new identity and it'll be officially yours once again. I do good on my promises." "I see. That job opportunity is still on the table?" "Yes, Sir. Just say the word." "... Okay. I'm in." "Good! This is great news. Here take this. [Hands Ray $100] Easy money. And there's more where that came from." "Thanks." "Don't mention it. And it looks like your car is ready. New VIN and new plates. Cops can't do sh*t to you now." "That's great. Thanks." "Of course. Stop by tomorrow. I'll have more work for you. Work that pays more than just $100." "I'll be here." "Alright then." Ray will enter his car and drive outside and meets up with Porter. "You did good, huh?" "Yeah. I accepted the job offer. He paid me $100. You want your half?" "No. Keep it. Here's hoping you get paid more next time." "Yeah. I got more work tomorrow." "Well, good. You're employed. Now I can charge you rent." "Yeah, and I'll burn the house down." [Laughs] "Well, you got your car and you got a job. You're a free man. I'll see you later." "Where are you going?" "I got a friend to visit in Chinatown. She really misses me." "I bet she does. If she's into 3 inches." "Ouch, that hurts. I'll see you, Buddy." "See you around." Mission Complete + $100 + Vallard's Deviant + New Friend: Michael Porter + New Job Provider: Jimmy Vega You have completed the mission and can now free-roam. Come back to Steve anytime for your next job. Edited September 2 by South Beach Lomaz Ivan1997GTA, E Revere, sabitsuki and 1 other 3
wise_man
I don't expect this project to be continued again today, what a surprise. Nice new mission, don't have the time to read the dialogues thoroughly as for now (still busy, will do it later), but I enjoy the format, mixing the storytelling and gameplay mechanics showcasing. That variation of melee combat moves with RTS sound brilliant. I'd recommend adding more graphic attachments, like pictures of the radar HUD and pictures of the mission's location for extra immersion points. Phil McCrevis
Really glad to see this up and running again. I actually forgot my password before but I was so glad to remember it. I really wish GTA VI was like this. More serious but with Miami/GTA IV realising and melancholic. And scam. People say South Plorida has lost it touch but I recently went for a festival musica and the place is just as deadly on the streets as it was in 1986. Funnily enough, that's kinda what I'm doing with my concept, feel free to read and leave some words.
