What are the most hated, annoying, frustrating or downright stupid missions in GTA?

To this day i haven't been able to pass GTA IVs final mission and I've grown to hate it lol. Sometimes i fail in the shootout, sometimes in the boat chase, rarely even in the car chase. But i especially fail in the heli chase as I pursue Dimitri to Happiness Island. I cannot control the heli for sh*t. I've seen YouTubers like GTAseriesvideos control the Annihilator so easily and it baffles me, I've tried the banking controls and the other controls for turning while flying but I just can't I keep crashing into buildings and going the wrong way.

It's a long mission where things could go wrong in lots of portions in the mission. But the really frustrating thing about this is the stupid checkpoint system in this mission. Why have the checkpoint after the easiest portion of the mission, the car chase, and nowhere else? They could have had a checkpoint right before the boat chase so that when you fail the boat chase or heli chase, you could start from the boat chase again rather than repeating the tedious shootout all over again, I keep failing in the heli part and to repeat the long shootout and boat chase all just to get to that part and then promptly crash in a minute, you don't get to build any rhythm and it's agonizing.

Even if they wanted to have just one checkpoint they could have had it after the car chase and shootout and before the boat and heli chase. I don't see why they couldn't have had multiple checkpoints though, San Andreas' final mission was easier and had atleast 2 checkpoints iirc. Stupid checkpoint system this mission has.

My laptop got f*cked and it sucks but silver lining is i'm glad i dont have to try to finish the final mission anymore. Though it sucks, GTA IV is a fantastic game and I didn't finish it, f*ck A Revengers Tragedy.

That's what you get for picking the wrong ending 😛

Deal ending is Real ending

Though I was told in Revenge ending the flying part only involves flying in a straight line chasing a boat so maybe I should have done that instead 😭

I can't stand so many missions in Grand Theft Auto V. I like the game, but they are so tedious - for example Chop, like - really? On the other hand, some of them are just stupid.

It's true!! Also Revenge ending is better in other ways as well (personally I much prefer the pre-wedding mission in Revenge for example). Honestly it's well worth playing both endings at some point. If you have any saves from earlier on you could give the other one a go.

Btw how is it that you're failing the heli part? If it's hitting buildings you can literally just fly above them. As soon as you get in the helicopter go straight up until you're above the top of the buildings, and then follow while high up the whole time. When it says you have to stay low it's a lie. And make turns mostly using the back buttons (or equivalent on PC), that's what will rotate you. The stick (or equivalent) will just make you bank from side to side without turning much. So like, if Dimitri was turning right, you'd hold down the right back button to rotate you right while still moving forwards with the stick.

@billiejoearmstrong8 i used to start flying high enough but it's the turning that messes things up. No matter what technique i use like turning while still going forward or turning without going forward, I can't execute those turns accurately and i end up going the wrong direction or while turning i end up descending and crashing into buildings, occasionally I've even crashed into the ocean that way lol

Not able to practice at the moment, maybe someday in future.

First time I'm hearing this mission being considered an unpopular one tbh, isn't it a fan favorite? Unless you're talking from a personal standpoint

Hope you're successful one day!

I would guess it's just that it can be difficult, seeing it with Catch the Wave there.

People say that one of the hardest missions in SA is wrong side of the tracks, however i find Zero's mission the hardest one's. Also in VC Demolition Man? I dont find that mission too hard, but idk its just my opinion.

GTA 2 had a lot of difficult missions in Residential and Industrial district but I'm not talking about them.

Vice City's RC Heli mission, not sure what it was called was quite annoying.

I guess Zero's missions were really annoying in SA, at least on PS2. I later found them quite easy to complete on PC compared to PS2 controller. Also Learning To Fly was pain the ass, lol.

GTA IV didn't really have any difficulties expect the last mission. Had to download third party app so you could pass it on PC. Otherwise it was like impossible to do.

GTA V umm.... Yoga was kinda stupid, but maybe the Merryweather heist was somewhat hard compared to others. Or some of the heist preps for Blitz play or the big one, aka Union Depository heist.

GTA2 was a difficult game in general, I couldn't even list the hardest missions because I literally struggled with all of them. It still baffles me to this day how I was able to beat the game back when I was just a little kid cause now I can't even seem to make it out of the first district.

The Downtown aka the first district was easy tho. So was the second one if you just used the bonuses. Remember the wang cars for example?

The final was the hardest one. But obviously if you wanted to finish every mission then you had some really troubles.

You can't forget about "Turn on, Tune in, Bug out" in Vice City Stories. That mission is hell if you don't use the helicopter on the Washington Beach Police Station, then even after you destroy all the antennas, you still have to lose the wanted level! Your best bet at that stage is to find a car then floor it to the nearest Pay and Spray while hoping the FBI don't shoot the hell out of your car. I was lucky to get it done on my second attempt of the mission, but even then, someone thought it would be appropriate to give you just $300 for completing it! What were they thinking?!

"Unfriendly Competition" was a nightmare for me, I think I failed the part where you have all the girls shooting at you with sub-machine guns and assault rifles about a dozen times before I finally finished it!

You do that mission to save yourself from trouble, not to do favor for someone. If anything, you only deserve "Mission Passed" message after finishing that mission.

Hilarity and shenanigans ensue, right? Well, no. No, not at all. He just does some boring ass dock work and leaves

Scouting the Port. I nearly threw my controller using that crane. Anything with the bureau, especially the shootout at the Kortz Center, or anything involving Steven Haines.

Photo Opportunity.

So I get a call from Cesar, he's been tailing our targets. Great news! He wants to meet us. Maybe he has information? We hurry over there, only to find him parked behind a billboard checking his tyres. Maybe he's had car trouble, but that's okay. I'm sure we'll... wait, you want me to drive? I don't know where they are. It's okay though, because he tells me to "follow the road and maybe we can pick them up". You were doing fine up until this point. Maybe he has cramp. I don't know, but whatever, let's just keep things moving. Alright. Which road? Angel Pine is closer to San Fierro than where we are now. Why didn't you say that on the phone? I could've just met you there. You know what? It's fine, it's fine. I'm not arguing in the car. It'll make it awkward, let's just go. I hope he doesn't mind the repair bill though, because it's one of the most tedious drives in the entire game and his car handles like a child playing football in his mum's high heel shoes. By the time we reach Angel Pine, the car is secreting smoke. At this point, we're to "inconspicuously" climb a roof and snap photos of our targets, who miraculously appear in front of us. A neat coincidence, considering we weren't really following them and had no idea where they were meeting. I say "inconspicuously" because we spend the entire time yelling at each other, which convinces me that this isn't a Loco Syndicate briefing but a bake sale for some hearing aids. After this tirade, Cesar unceremoniously throws us out two blocks down at a gas station only to say he will "meet us back at the garage". You're going that way, why not just... you know what, bollocks to it, I'd drive anything other than the Savannah.

(I am well aware this mission is a mess because it was heavily changed, and this is very well documented by the leaked audio and original script. Please do not attempt to justify my choice by saying this isn't how the mission was originally supposed to go. I know. It's still a goofy mission and I fucking hate it.)

Scouting The Port because it was so long and Sidetracked because of the time limit were the worst in my opinion.

You know what, seeing people mention Scouting the Port has me agreeing. It doesn't help when you're trying to awkwardly manoeuvre your body around the narrow walkways of the crane loader, wondering if now is the time your boat like body steering is going to suddenly have you falling off. Dull job tasks do not a fun game mechanic make.

Other than that, you know what I really hate with missions with car chases? That awfully obvious way in which cars are scripted to crash or do something else. Either you can tell it's going to happen because the animation speed of the car loves to rubberband or it reacts like Superman taking a bullet when you so much as bump into them. I don't know, they've always just made car chases annoying a lot of the time during missions for that reason.
