BigAkita Posted May 25, 2003 Share Posted May 25, 2003 First specs: T-Bred 2600+ on a Soyo KT400, Sapphire 9700 Pro with 3.4 Cats, WinXP, DX 9.0a. I installed the game and started it, but I was getting blank spots and lines all over the screen. I applied the polygon patch, but then at the menu screen it just flashes like crazy and all these strange characters are all over the screen. Ok, I uninstall the game, reinstall it without the patch, and the menu screen still goes crazy. Any ideas or suggestions? I would like to thank each and every one of you losers for the abundance of help I received. Even 1 friggin suggestion or acknowledgment that I had even posted would have been nice. If any of you want to learn a little, check out a forum I moderate: www.pimprig.com. You will learn more than you ever wanted about computer modding, hardware and software tweaks, and optimization. The only reason I posted here is that I thought it may have been a common problem with a common fix. Guess it wasn't, so I worked it out myself. Our PimpRig forums would never leave a user hanging. It makes us n00bs if our comps dont f*ck up like yours? Why would you bash us if you figured it out... I mean, what is the point... your game works now, and on top of that... ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM. The only reason I am still posting is morbid curiousity. I received no help, received no ackowledgement that I had even posted, fixed the problem myself, and even posted what the fix was. "the 3.4 catalyst fix" 1: at the menu screen when it goes goofy; alt-tab out to desktop then click taskbar to go back to game. you should be able to see the main menu now. 2: go to display options and turn frame limiter on. you should be using it with your card anyway (it's faster than the game lol) or just go to earlier (duhhhh) drivers 8 hours is fast even for email service where folks get paid to help your miserable unfriendly ass. I've only seen this question a couple times here, but if you'd done your research you would have found the real work around answer most people don't get this bug, that's why you didn't get an answer.
