Arthur Bellic
I don't know if there's a topic for this but I would be interested to know which teams you prioritize when it comes to football - your club or country? Personally, I would prefer if England were to win the World Cup or Euros over Manchester United winning the Champions League or Premier League. I like how International tournaments bring nations together and fans of rival clubs to support their country against others. I do like how each club has its own culture, fanbase, and community but IMO nothing compares to a whole nation coming together for a whole month. TheSantader25
I don't really support a specific country in football. Don't really have a place that I can call "my country". So I'm pretty much neutral in international competitions but still enjoy them a lot because they are rare and bring everyone together (FIFA want to ruin this though). So in the end, Barca is above everything for me. smokeless6
Club football without a doubt. I enjoy international competitive football, but club takes priority. If national teams stopped playing tomorrow I'd miss them. If club football stopped tomorrow I'd be committed to the loony bin. Matter of fact I'd like to see international football overhauled in many ways, and I do not want to see this push for a two-year World Cup cycle succeed. Although I enjoy the national game, for the most part I see the international breaks as disrupting my club Arthur Bellic 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/979449-club-or-country/#findComment-1071779251 Share on other sites
EGA_6
Well this is an interesting question as I don't really have a team in either club or international football that I follow week in week out for. I consume everything about football daily and primarily follow the PL but I don't follow a particular team. I grew up supporting Barcelona but I wouldn't consider it a team that I truly care too much about. In international football, I mainly supported England in major international tournaments. I don't know too much about the Canadian team tbh, as they rose through the World Cup qualifiers and I don't follow the MLS. So I'm neutral with this but I would assume this answer varies. In South America, North America, Asia, Africa, and majority of countries in Europe, I would consider that the international team would have more significance. But in countries like England, Spain, Italy, Germany (maybe Netherlands and Portugal) I would assume club comes before country.
