tophatgaming
in gta 5 there's a wrecked car with a California license plate, some will say that R* simply reused the car model from somewhere else and forgot to change the plate, but I think it's a subtle hint by R* that California does exist alongside san andreas in the hd universe, there are multiple implications for this, does this mean liberty city is a completely different one from new york? just what does the map look like with san andreas being so bizarely disconnected from the rest of the continental united staes? and just how does this effect rdr and gta being connected? tophatgaming
that is clearly not the case, it's a parallel universe
kBlaise
That license plate is simply an easter egg, there's no need to derive massive conclusions from it. tophatgaming
The Notorious MOB
I think they're basically just going full on one universe now. GTA Online is essentially the newest iteration of the franchise (rather than some non canon offshoot) and they've just been borrowing so much from RDR2 now that it's hard to deny. In GTA there's a Miami... they've never said that there wasn't. Vice City is just strikingly similar. And they name drop a ton of real life locations, so there's no reason why there can't be a California, a New York and a Chicago too.
