Are there any difference between 16-bit & 32-bit in GTA 3's resolutions?

Hey ya'll. Today i'm asking about this. So i just purchased GTA Complete Bundle on Steam (On about 2020). It included GTA 3, Vice City & San Andreas in the bundles. I started to play GTA 3. And it started on it's default 640x480 resolution. With no errors whatsoever. However. I scrolled through the supported resolutions. I found the resolutions 16-bit and 32-bit. (Meant to say example: 1280x720x16 and 2560x1440x32) Now i'm wondering. Are there any differences between 16-bit and 32-bit? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks

It refers to the color depth; 16-bit has fewer colors on-screen than 32-bit does. Set your resolution to 32-bit.

Then you will see less colors displayed and the game will look a lot worse.

I mean yes. But when i got into the game 32-bit mode has alot of Motion Blur on screen. While 16-bit mode appears as a darker version and less Motion Blur.

As others have stated, 16/32 bit relate exclusively to colour depth. Any other effects you see are just your mind playing tricks on you.

Yeah it`s '16-Bit Color Depth' and '32-Bit Color Depth'. And i don`t know if the 'Trails' option in the game`s Display settings. has something to do with the Motion Blur and what not. And also, I do not like the effect when switching to 32-Bit. Because there`s alot of Motion Blur issues can be appear mid-game. It started to disappear whenever I turned off the 'Trails' option. I also don`t like 'Trails' being turned off. And also... Obviously my mind ain`t playing tricks on me

If you turn trails on you will see motion blur. If you turn trails off you will not see any motion blur. Color depth has nothing to do with motion blur.

Then just play how you want then but you will see broken graphical effects at 16bit as the game was designed for 32bit. 16bit is just legacy support at the time that's not even offered anymore.

You really need to stop writing like you have any idea what you're talking about when you clearly do not. Every last one of your questions can be answered and your problems solved with some Google searches and research on this forum.

Hey. As you've seen the title. I'm only asking the difference between 16-bit depth and 32-bit depth. You don't need to judge me!

The difference is 16-bit color looks like sh*t and 32-bit color looks better. You really shouldn't be needing to run 16 colors unless your computer is 20+ years old with an onboard graphics chipset, and barely ran GTA3 on release.

I'm not judging you, just that almost all of your assumptions as to what means what and does what are mostly wrong when typing "gta3 trails" into Google will immediately give you a wealth of information on what that actually does.

"Trails" shouldn't be related to the colour depth.

16-bit means the game will render fewer colours on the screen - it will look very similar to 32-bit version for most of the gaming process, however where you will see major differences is anything with a gradient. Especially noticeable when foggy or cloudy. Instead of blending naturally from white to black you'll have a few blocks of colour: white, grey, black.

But play with whichever setting you like best. I always play in 32-bit, but on many occasions I played SA in 16-but and didn't notice until much later.

16-bit would come in handy when you're playing on a Windows 98 PC and the game lags on 32-bit color mode, which in this day and age, is very unlikely.
