Greetings

can someone explain why its takes so long from the splash screen and the time the menu shows up? It seems to take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute for the menu to show up.

computer specs:

1.67 ghz Amd

Geforce4 TI4200 (driver-43.45)

512 mb Ram

Xp

Cdrom speed - 40x/48x

 

Cd is not dirty, or scratched. I cleaned both cdroms. Defraged HD's. killed all unnecessary background programs, disabled antivirus software.

any suggestions would be welcomed, this is driving me nuts
