Timbo Baggins
Okay so this is my first post here and I'm going to say right off the bat that I'm playing the Definitive Version on Xbox series X. I know people hate this version but I don't and it's on gamepass. I'm trying to get an early Rustler so I can make EP/FP but there are limitations present in the DE version that don't exist in the order versions. Namely, the draw distance is improved and it makes it keeping Big Smoke alive during Just Business impossible. I can safely get the plane to Doherty to unlock it during Drive-by without problems but I can't seem to take off safely during traffic. I can't tow it back to the airport either because the gate is locked during that mission. Has anyone got any suggestions on a safe nearby place to take off on this thing? I'm not opposed to flying it back under a four-star warning. I'm pretty sure I can get it back to the two bribe stars in Blueberry. With luck the other two will fall off and I'll be able to fly it to the Los Santos Impound after that.
Solution ArmanCan Posted December 20, 2021 Solution Share Posted December 20, 2021 (edited) @Timbo Baggins welcome to our forum If i understand correctly you towed the Rustler to Doherty during "Drive-by" and you are trying to find a takeoff area?? Why don't you use train tracks right in front of you? Just head your nose to Angel Pine start from the station area and takeoff.. Consider it solved. I absolutely keep back up saves for things like this. Good advice nonetheless.

I'd be interested in reading your observations about the DE impound garages. In particular, do the impounded vehicles disappear if CJ doesn't watch them carefully when the invisible door is open, but also... Random vehicles that were never driven and can't possibly be from random cargens within the impound zones can sometime get impounded. The most notable of these are boats in the SF impound and aircraft in LV. I'm curious of DE suffers from the same issues.

Timbo Baggins
I've not yet practiced much with the impound garages. I've watched Jam8tone's videos on the subject a whole bunch though and I'm confident that I'll get it figured out when the time comes. Definitive Edition Observations. 1. The Sawnoff Shotgun and Minigun no longer push vehicles. Consequently, you can no longer get any vehicles that require them for pushing. 2. The Mulholland Garage still allows the storing of vehicles and the Seasparrow on the roof. 3. Garages have junk in them that take up space. This makes it harder to store 4 vehicles in those garages so you need to be more selective. Because of this, You can no longer store a Packer in the Doherty garage. 4. Drive-by's No Wanted Level Exploit still works. 5. Just Business' No Wanted Level Exploit no longer works. I suspect the increased draw distance makes it impossible to escape the mission before Smoke or the Russians kill each other. 6. Los Sepulcros' Ignored By Police exploit still works. 7. OM0 tricks do not work. 8. Homies can open the same vehicle doors they could open on the PC and Console versions. My homie was able to open up the locked Tacoma from House Party but was unable to open the Lowriders from High Stakes Lowrider. I'm currently on my third start over playing the game. I did this because I've decided that I want no deaths, hospitalizations, or mission failures unless necessary. As I've stated previously I'm currently on the mission Drive-by. I've been trying to get the Rustler back to LS during this mission but it's not easy. However, I can get it back to Doherty easily enough. Nite with the train tracks as my runway, I should be able to get it back to Los Santos. I've got my Towruck in my Ganton Garage and I've been impounding it by using the Drive-by mission start. I should probably make sure that it's actually going there but I don't see why it wouldn't. That said, I'm reconsidering getting need for an FP/EP Rustler/Hydra/Seasparrow. Not only are these incredibly tedious to get they force you to fail Gray Imports once each. I'm currently thinking that FP/EP is basically a trophy that's less valuable than a Passed Mission Attempt. Also, since EP is just as good as FP/EP in aerial combat, I'll settle for an EP Seasparrow (and EP Banshee) and pass the mission on the first try. I'm still hoping the EC/EM conversion tricks still work. I'm going to try them out when I get to the Green Sabre. I plan to put exclusive colors and mods on proofed vehicles to save garage space and to recreate EC/EM vehicles that require mission failures with this method and consequently, I'll be keeping a backup from before Life's a Beach. I will report back on whether or not these tricks work in this version as soon as I find out.
