Does any one know the purpose of capitale?

Ok I get its for stuff with blood money but it doesn't really need to exist.

Literally just to play the new missions which aren't special as it's literally just the standard "Freeroam" missions with some shiny paint.

The in game purpose is to play opportunities which pay out the same as legendary bounties.  The underlying purpose seems to be geared toward new players as to begin blood money there is no buy in with gold like roles.  Its likely to be used in future dlc to buy stuff as it is capped to 50 to prevent hoarding and it can be purchased with gold.  The current opportunites pay out less than a gold bar for completing them so it makes no sense to buy capitale with gold.  I think it 3 gold bars for 10 currently.

Just FYI a couple of similar discussions and to this day I am not sure what if you can buy something with the don's new bathroom tissues crapitale. The don should be hunting us down for carrying them around, so you'd think from the story. Hmm

I suspect Capitale and Role Tokens were intended to be the same thing, and Capitale was meant to introduce us to the concept of spending something order to play special missions.

 

The endgame of this plan was to revamp the Bounty Hunter and Naturalist roles so you now have to spend Role Tokens in order to do a Legendary Bounty or Legendary Animal mission-- with additional Role Tokens available for purchase from Madam Nazar or found in the world via metal detector or loot.

People saying role tokens are currency have no idea what they are talking about.  Its merely meant to prevent you from buying everything immediately upon reaching rank 5, 10, or 15 to encourage progression.  It like saying, oh these ranks locks for a variety of items is a currency.  If you use all your role tokens, there are no more items to unlock.  Its just a second tier of progression.  Do you want the bounty wagon or the new hair cut?  Once you fully rank the role you can unlock all the items and you will have 0 tokens, but you still need cash to buy everything.  It does nothing else...you cannot buy ammo or tonics with role tokens....sheesh.  Capitale is clearly going to be used for something in the future.

What they should do is get rid of gold entirely. It's completely pointless. Just have one currency. Then rockstar can sell you RDO dollars for real money. I also think they would make more money that way.

Right, obvious choice and way easier, but R* is trying to prevent glitches. It seems like when they say we learned so much from GTAO that preventing glitches was all they were talking about.  Their game is super exposed to duplication glitches. This gets back to invite only/free aim, Timer based payouts, etc...there are currently dupe glitches with legendary animals pelts.  Why anyone needs to do them?  I guess to have unlimited tonics?  I do not know.  Gold dupe glitches have been way fewer as the only way to do it is get treasure chests to spawn or the treasure hunter random event....I think there is a glitch to force spawn it.  Either way, gold has prevented a ton of duplication glitches to amasss this currency.

But there are very few things you can buy with gold that you can't buy with cash anyway. Just a few clothing items and roles (passes don't really count because you always get it all back). A dedicated glitcher could get everything they need and never touch gold. And money is easy to glitch in GTA yet plenty of people still rush to buy shark cards. GTA is still making them tons of money so having the one currency isn't doing them any harm.

If gold is so inconsequential, why are people complaining about 21 gold bar weapon skins?  A fully golden gun is 30...never understood this complaint.  From a suits pov, R* could be making a lot more in GTAO. The suits pov is GTAO was a guaranteed success and R* was stupid not to implement a premium currency a la RDO.  But see the first sentence, people will complain about micros no matter what.  Disingenuously people will shift why they complained about the 21 gold bars from well it's just R* is greedy or something else.  When really the truth is "I wanted to buy it, but I couldn't buy it because I would need to grind showdowns or buy gold bars."

 

Regardless, R*'s solution to its glitching problem was stupid which was to make a currency that was not earned the same way, and it backfired and discourages people to play RDO.  Hell, you cannot even sell your horses in RDO...when the intro specifically says you will be meeting the horse thieves again.  GTAO still appeals to many more than RDO because of the freedom on HOW you can play, but the HOW cost R* big time on shark cards.  The problem is the HOW enables so many glitches and the ability to glitch millions is one of the reasons GTAO is so popular...the suits cannot seem to comprehend this in hindsight.  

 

Not only that, gold in this game confers a status...if every gun you have equipped on your horse isn't completely gold...you are a pleb.  So yes, gold matters.  Go dupe a million golden bear pelts...can't even buy a decent moonshine shack background.  Almost all the best cosmetics are in gold.  Also, gold unlocks the best content known as roles which you noted but glossed over.  The roles are 110 gold bars.  Start a new character and see how much gold doesn't matter.   The same reasoning applies to passes.  If you do not grind dailies, bounties, or showdowns, you may have to buy gold to even get the pass.  As they range from 25-45 per pass.  And if you do not complete the pass, you lose the gold and do not get all unlocked items.   Some people realize they are out of time then use gold to rank each remaining level.

I mean technically you get exactly as many role tokens as you need, you just chose not to use them all and purchase everything available. I totally understanding not wanting to buy certain items but you can always buy and then ignore them, I myself have no role tokens and don't use most of the stuff I bought with them. Doesn't bother me personally as I'd rather not have the currency itself if I don't have to.

 

Either way I'm not knocking ya for not spending them all, hell they shouldn't even exist to begin with lol.

I think you missed my point. GTA doesn't have this premium content lock and has a single currency. Money glitches are all over the place so anyone can get anything without much problem. But it doesn't get people annoyed enough to stop playing the game. Nobody really cares who glitched what and who owns what and the game is as popular as ever. I actually think if they removed gold completely and allowed people to buy RDO dollars they would make more money. When you're starting out gold is almost pointless and money is pretty useful (I expect most people buy shark cards soon after they install the game). Maybe if they made more money we would get more content. So I think removing gold would benefit everyone and hurt nobody.

R* definitely cares.  Which is why they patch dup glitches in a week in GTAO. And why there is gold and a heavy grind early on in RDO. Everything except deadeye cards is also available in gold as well.

The role tokens unlock items for you to purchase.  It a 2nd progression tree.  I personally do not mind the tokens, but all the stuff should not be ranked locked on role progression as well.  For instance, the wilderness camp is locked to level 5 naturalist and then you need 3 role tokens to unlock it.  Should just be 3 roles tokens to unlock it.  Its a second pointless wall to climb.

When properties do appear they are not going to cost thousands of gold bars. Maybe a couple of hundred at most. Rockstar aren't going to put something in the game that is out of reach of anyone currently players and only available to those who accumulated a stupid amount when it was easy to get. I'm saying get rid of gold and transfer that into cash. If they make it possible to buy cash they would sell more of it and they might invest in more content because of it. That's why I'm saying get rid of it. I've got over 3000 vanity gold and would happily lose it if it meant we got more content.

Players don't care. And in GTA you can only buy cash and it's easy to glitch cash too. So Rockstar don't seem to care that you can glitch the very thing they are trying to see you in GTA. Not sure why RDO is a special case.

Do you even play GTAO?  R* fixes money glitches within 2 days....game breaking god mode glitches last for years.  Glitchers probably just released a good one today.  They usually do it on holiday weekends, so they last for more than 5 days.  R* definitely cares about things that effect shark card sales.  Players caring about glitched money is irrelevant.  Although many do here on the forums, I have read threads where people in all seriousness believe money glitchers should be arrested and put in jail.

Not much any more but I've got a rank 882 character. Last time I played was a few months ago. Bogen glitch was still working and it's been there for years not days.

Clearly, you are aware that this type of glitch that requires completing an actual in game mission and relies on basically on disconnection protection for players from R* janky servers (the only reason this is not patched btw).  And more important it is not a duplication glitch. Not to mention, it takes 10 minutes to complete one time and you need at least 2 people, you have disconnect your internet and the most you can make is like 1 million.  I have done dupe glitches that you can make 20 million in 15 minutes.  You have no excuse for not understanding why gold is in RDO, so quit playing dumb, you know what I am talking about.

It's still a glitch to maker $1M over and over again quite easily. It's been there since day 1 of the heist. And it's easy for a beginning to do. They just sit in the water on a Seashark.

Arguably, its more of exploit than a glitch as the leader doesn't get paid because he leaves.  Its the same thing as closing your app during a wagon sale gone wrong in RDO. If you consider it a glitch, its one of the worst glitches as you still have to complete the mission and sit through all the cut scene b.s. of the heists.  And it requires a 2nd player and anything that requires more than one person where both are not benefiting simultaneously is garbage.  And by today standards, getting 1million in GTAO in 45 minutes is actually trash.  Why does it take 45 minutes, because unless you have a white knight leader then you must be trading back and forth and that means for 15-20 mintues depending on restarting speed...your are making nothing.  The only reason its not patched is because genuine disconnect issues are very real.  So, your reliance on this type of a glitch as a counter is birdbrained.  But whatever, the pac standard heist replay glitch isnt fixed, R* is totally cool with glitches....in fact they endorse it by not fixing their game.  Anyone who plays GTAO and has done money glitches knows they patch them asap.  They leave god mode jets, thermal jets, and all other types of b.s. for literally 6 moths sometime years.  Which you know exactly what I am talking about.  At this point, I consider you a disingenuous troll account.

Its another paywall designed to slow players down. Instead of making meaningful content they simply put another Premium Currency in the game, they knew that the "Opportunities" were sh*t and could be completed in ten minutes so they walled them off in an attempt to stop players completing the entire DLC in an hour.

 

Play time and number of logins is all that Take2 and Investors care about. A new Update guarantees increased logins and filler content like grinding Capitale means play time.

My point was that selling gold was obviously not working. GTAO obviously is working with one currency. Enough people buy it that they can keep it maintained. If RDO got rid of gold and sold money instead I think more would buy it and they could add content and fix glitches as they do in GTAO.

Bruh who even knows anymore. No disrespect to Amy but whenever she/they are involved in a discussion it turns into an argument with the other person almost every time. I can't be the only one who notices this either.

 

All I know is that the arguments ensuing in the RDO section are more entertaining than playing the game at this point.
