Tracking You as a Possible Cheater

Man WTF I am playing right now and I get a notification that I am being tracked as a possible cheater. Where is this coming from? I am one of the cleanest players you would ever meet. If its from players reporting me, that is not probable cause. I been reported before for having a high rank but anyone who looks at my playtime would know I got where I am legitimately. Should I be concerned about this cause I know Rockstar has a tendency to swing the ban hammer around while wearing a blindfold before.

A lot of players that throw player reports around are completely ignorant and not all of them should be taken seriously, especially from those who are low in rank who look at you and automatically assume you cheated.

If you're getting such notifications, the cause is usually other players (as you quite rightly said) 'throwing player reports around'.

Some players get salty at seeing anyone with a higher rank or K/D ratio than them, or they get upset that you're in 'their' lobby because they wanted to 'pwn it' with their friends, and so they report you or anyone else.

It's childish, petty, and fortunately 99% harmless. Rockstar doesn't seem to pay attention to reports any more (legit or not) unless it gets escalated beyond the robots in their support shoebox centre with evidence through videos etc.

If you're legit, I wouldn't worry. If the notifications bother you, your options are to bend the knee and leave the lobby where you're getting reported, or indulge in behaviour that makes other players leave. Or (of course) avoid other players entirely on this Online game that is usually better played alone or with trusted friends only.

In Gta Online I am the minority who are friendly who only shoots another player when provoked and I spend as little time doing pointless free roam PvP as possible so I believe the most probable cause for the reports is my rank which currently is at 1139. Anyone who been playing since 2013 (like I have) could get that high in the allotted time.

I reported people for having a high rank myself but only those whose rank is at 8000 which we know is impossible without cheating in some way.

If you are not on PC, you have nothing to worry about, it's just people reporting you because they can and nothing ever comes from it.

Having your join date visible to the public can help. Some people have passed 2000 legit already, playing since 2013.

Ah, good I play on Xbox Series X now. Its just the first time in eight years I ever got such a notification and it freaked me out.
