Save game question. Downgrade for nice glitches and then update (PS4)?

I just beat the game on Xbox with 100% completion. Took me 4 months or so. I didn't use glitches, aside from the New Austin Wagon method with Arthur, but I wouldn't call it a glitch. It's more like a "workaround". So, I thought I'd be very pleased once I hit 100% because I worked so hard, but somehow it achieved the opposite effect. I'm sadder than I was before. I mean that 100% sure looks good after all I've done, such as the Gambler challenges, visiting New Austin as Arthur with the wagon (I needed the LoTE outfit prior to the epilogue), hunting requests, exotic missions... anyway I'm derailing my own topic, sorry about that.

 

If I buy the disc version of the game for PS4, I'll be able to skip all the updates and play the release-day version, also known as v1.0; now I know it has some glitches, some nice ones too, such as infinite gold bar glitch, horse spawn glitch north of Saint Denis and who knows what else. I'd love to try the glitches out, get myself a rose grey bay Arabian as Arthur, get insane amounts of money and be able to use the closed version of Arthur's winter coat, etc. It's kind of a dumb question because duh, the majority of those glitches were fixed long ago but still, there might be a slim chance some of them glitches can carry over to the updated version, I hope at least.

 

Given that the 1.0 version has some nasty bugs too, I'd like to know if it's possible to update the game and still enjoy the glitches that I pulled off? For example: if I get thousands of dollars through a certain gold bar glitch, get an unobtainable horse, save Arthur's closed winter coat and more, will those "perks" remain after updating the game? Will I still have my money, horse, coat?

Anything you get before updating will remain. The saves are forward-compatible every time, but not always the contrary. If you're a glutton for punishment, be my guest. I sold off my X1X and bought an ASUS G14 in June. Been loving the ability to freely mod and use trainers whenever I so please. (My rationale on cheats and glitches are they're parallel. By glitching in something you're not meant to obtain normally, I consider that cheating. It may as well be.

 

I've run the game legitimately to 100% as well. Four times, in fact. Once on X1X and three on PC. After all that time spent, I cannot be bothered to go cheatless/glitchless. Like I said, everything will remain intact. But, you lose that horse you're SOL. You change outfits without saving, SOL.

 

Also, the gold bar glitch at Ridgewood Farm still works as of current version (1.0.1436.28).

I don't know about the closed Winter Coat, but the horses and gold will stick if you update. I think they might have blacklisted the closed Winter Coat. I know if you save an outfit on 1.00 with no offhand holster when you update the outfit will have an offhand holster for instance. They're really anal about the outfits. You'll still keep the LotE outfit, and any other purchased type outfits Arthur can't normally get because he'd have to go to New Austin like the Armadillo and the trapper gear, but they try to patch the other stuff you have to exploit to get, like an outfit with no suspenders
