Missions easier in the Definitive Editions?

Recommended Posts

Similar to the Vice City nerfed topic, which missions seemed easier in San Andreas Definitive compared to the original?

For one that low rider race used to be ridiculously hard for me as a kid. I just passed it no problem on my first try. The new hydraulics option to turn it off and on is very welcome.

Definitely easier than the OG haha I would get so frustrated as a kid having to repeat 'wrong side of the tracks' + lowrider challenge + 'Life's a beach'

But there's also so many glitches and bugs that take away the entertainment.. 'Stowaway' and 'The meat business' used to be alot of fun on ps2 and now gameplay feels clumsy and clunky.

Love the on/off hydraulics option too, just be ideal to turn off the HUD controls info

Supply Lines. In the original game it was really hard mission, often completed with almost no fuel at all. In DE I destroyed the couriers and came back to the roof and I still had more than 3/4 of the fuel tank.

Probably didn't use the accelerate button as much, many players did that already wrong in OG... ^^

8 Track. I hate that race on the OG version. On the DE I decided to try it on a whim and completely smoked everyone the first time, I was even lapping people near the end

try to increase your "Driving Skill" it is easy to do lapping on classic version.. just try to stay away from them and evade hitting or P.I.Tting 😉

I think "Autosave" feature made this game much secure and fast 😉

A few are easier and a few are harder. Seems the Gang Wars are a lot more difficult, but Zero's missions are just infinitely more tolerable.

Yeah, the Gang Wars are definitely harder. It seems random gang members that aren't a part of the "waves" are frequently spawned almost right next to you.

It definitely feels easier or maybe we just grew up gaming and are more skilled now than when we were kids

Definitely this. I remember replaying GTA SA in 2017 and finding much of it to be easy.

Beat wrong side of the tracks first try, so it seems the missions are easier than OG. Also the weapon wheel and improved aiming makes a lot easier.

Improved aiming?

I must have been playing a different game because I found the new aiming system to be shockingly bad compared to the original, it snaps to random targets, is slow to switch unless they're in a relatively straight line and sometimes downright pulls out of targeting from nowhere and goes into free aim.

When I took over all the gang territories I had to find positions in the areas where I could bottleneck them because it was either too slow or often simply wouldn't change to the gang members on the other side of the streets so they'd inevitably get close enough to CJ to start firing.

The only noticeably easier mission in the Definitive Edition, is Wrong Side of The Tracks. It wasn't necessarily hard before, just frustrating cause Big Smoke couldn't hit his targets. Still can't shoot to save his life, but he kills his targets much quicker.

They are easier if you compare them to the original console versions. One of the only things these Definitive Editions does better is the control scheme. I recently compledted the game on PS5 and I went back to play the PS2 version to compare and yeah is definitely harder.  Could also be that 18-19 years ago I was younger and sucked at it lol.

I can't say for the PC version but the OG PC version is my favorite one due to  aiming with mouse and all the perks. Should be similar with the Definitive

The weapon wheel changed the game when it comes to combat in this game!

True, there were multiple times when you just got killed trying to switch from a pistol to a rifle. The Weapon Wheel is a great addition.

I didn't find them that different when I played it on PC but yeah there were changes, but very little. The more easy ones was of GTA III / Vice City Definitive Editions since they added aim and better movement overall.

For GTA San Andreas I noticed that flight school to get gold was a lot easier, you didn't have to be as precise as in the originals (although the controls on PC are awful, that's the only reason you might fail, and doesn't let you change them exactly how you want).

You also have the checkpoints but I didn't find them at all that helpful, doesn't make much of a difference to me.

Having finished GTASA DE two or three days ago, I didn't find them more or less difficult, but the one part where I really died a lot was Gang Wars, those guys really wanted those zones for themselves.

I failed Grove 4 Life twice during my playthrough, once they killed me, the second they killed Sweet.

I kept failing the mission where you rob the bank with Catalina because of the sh*tty ass aiming. Failed it 5 times in a row and completed it on the 6th try with only 1% of health left. There is nothing improved about the controls in the DE at all. And that weapon wheel? I find it kind of useless and have rarely needed to use it.

Wrong Side of the tracks, however, is a mission I still to this day fail to understand how people fail it on both editions. Literally as Smoke says, follow the damn train.
