Only the DE is available. Since R* puts the OG games back to the R*-store on PC, do you you think there might be any chance the PS2 version will return to the PS4 store? NightmanCometh96 Posted December 8, 2021 Share Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) I'm going to say no, simply because I feel like they would have been relisted alongside the PC versions when R*'s apology was posted. It's sad, though, because aside from the poor frame-pacing and soundtrack butchering, the PS4 versions were the most faithful way to experience The Trilogy on modern platforms (since they were literally the PS2 versions being emulated). Incidentally, I'm also bummed that Microsoft is done with the Xbox backwards compatibility program, since that means R* Vienna's fantastic ports of III and VC will forever remain exclusive to the OG Xbox and 360. It would have been sweet to play them at 4K and/or with FPS boost on Series X. People that bought the DE edition on the R* game launcher received the OG games for free. I had GTA3 and Vice City added to my RSGL library around the time the last patch was released on PC (I already owned OG SA). But you STILL cannot buy the OG version on their store anymore... Edit: reading their newswire article again, this is the exact wording they use: [...]we also understand that some of you would still like to have the previous classic versions available for purchase. [...] We will update everyone as soon as these are back in the Rockstar Store. So the OG games will be available again to buy on their own store, but no indication if 3rd party stores will as well... But to say X is good except if you ignore Y, doesn't really make sense. My car is great, if you ignore that it burns 10l of gasoline for every 1km it drives. It is a completely stripped-down version in comparison to the original (since it is the mobile port, watch Vadim M's videos "GTA SA - Why remaster is garbage?" 1 and 2, nearly all those things hold for the DE). Unfortunately no, PS2 games are digital-only for PS4/PS5. And Sony, for whatever reason, decided that trophies were mandatory for any PS2 game. I assume it's one of the reasons why so few games wound up being released; the last one was one of SNK's KoF games in 2018, IIRC.
