Glitches toward end of game

[Montana Actual]

Having a couple issues here. On my 4th playthrough and taking it VERY slow. I am going for 100%. I got all the cigarette cards, but was only able to mail 11 of the 12 sets. When pulling up the compendium it does say all 144 collected, but won't let me mail the final set. The log says all but the one complete. Do I have to travel to the train station and find this guy still there or what is the deal? I am currently done with all epilogue missions and am playing as JM.

Another issue I am having is the chelonians not spawning. I have been to the spot in St. Denis multiple times and nobody ever spawns. I am pretty sure I had that encounter as Arthur but cannot remember for sure. Either way, someone should spawn. I also have not seen the herb guy appear since completing the game. For some reason during the last couple times I was Arthur and met him, he was very hostile and would shoo me off. Pretty sure it was just one of those RDR2 wanted system stupid things and it triggered him into seeing me negatively every time. But still, neither of them spawn as JM.

The last issue is trying to complete challenges. I have to "sneak" up on 10 enemies for 10 arrow kills behind their back. Any help on this would be great. I have snuck up on enemies multiple times and done this but it never works or stays counted as one kill toward the 10. Please tell me this is not a 10 in a row kind of achievement.

This is one of the weapons expert challenges, right? It's in the top most annoying and stupid of the challenges. I never managed to count it to like 5 in a row, when I did it I was like shoot one from the back at Hanging Dog Ranch, then they got alerted ALWAYS so withdraw and repeat 10 times.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally sell one of those cards? It would explain how you discovered all the cards but don't have all of them

Idk if there's a guide with Williams' spawns, but, i have seen him in Tall Trees in the epilogue, pretty close to John's Ranch

It's not a 10 in a row challenge. Idk what's the issue... just go to a gang camp, keep your distance, and shoot one of them in the back of the head, that will alert everyone, so just move away until they stop giving chase, return and repeat 9 more times. You don't really have to be sneaking or anything, the enemy simply must not be aware of your presence.

This is a challenge that's far easier to do in story mode, like, in King's Son you can get most of the kills, unfortunately, i think doing mission replay resets the challenge after completing the mission, so not a viable option.

You can kill a majority of Odriscols at hanging dog ranch using stealth without alerting anyone. Usually their lookout on the tower spots me but sometimes I can get him too.

 

You have to shoot them more or less from behind while crouched down so that your minimap icon turns grey and ideally you wanna hit them in the head

The easiest way for the 10 arrow kills is at thieves landing

Go towards Thieves from the Blackwater side take out one of the guys on the others side of the bridge, turn around and ride away until the enemy red dot is gone and rinse and repeat

Thanks for the replies.

I managed to find the chelonian in St. Denis and then made my way to the sacred cliff where I joined in the refreshing sermon of our chelonian founder. We had a great jump together. It was a once in a life experience.

I also did manage to rack in one stealth kill. I think before it was because I was not crouched or was exposed before I got the shot off. Either way, just another challenge to grind. The one I honestly don't want to do and have been trying on and off throughout the entire game, is win 3 games of dominoes in a row. What a stupid challenge. I mean, most of them are tbh...

As for the cigarette cards, it seems likely that somehow I may have sold a card or something, so I will just keep collecting until I am able to send them all off. Hopefully that works.

Very helpful all. Should have made another title cuz they are not glitches but just seemed weird. At least this time I have a progress tracker and that helped me get the herb challenges sorted, so I only had to collect the ones in New Austin and that was it.

Almost all of the challenges are tedious and stupid, on the top the gambler challenge 8 which is infamous... I think master hunter, survivalist and explorer are easy but the weapons expert, sharpshooter is very annoying. Bandit is just boring, horseman is nothing special, herbalist can be very time consuming. And they are just not worth it, the reward outfit does not provide very much at that time you actually obtain it.

In this challenge, if you're about to lose, just leave and rejoin the table, the game won't consider leaving a defeat. It's also better to sit at a table with just one opponent, as you're more likely to win, I hope Rockstar never patches this, cause if they do, this instantly becomes the worst challenge, even worse than winning in blackjack with 3 hits.

Emerald station dominoes one player can do it within an hour

For the challenges like that where there's no skill involved, I use CheatEngine's speedhack to blow through them.

 

Oh, and I've done the stealth bow challenge at both Fort Wallace and Gaptooth Breach. You have to be within a certain distance from the target for it to count. The reason for that I've no clue.
