Search results are limited to 1000 because otherwise simple queries would return like 90k pages which would be slow as all hell. You can use date filters in search by clicking More Search Options and get older results. I'm literally not getting results older than December 2021, which is not how it's supposed to be. It's not like my queries used to return any more than a few pages at a time, anyway. If there's been 1000 results of your search term since December when you sort by Date, then you'll only see results from December onwards. Expand the More Search Options and change the date to get older results. You can't get more than 40 pages aka 1000 results per query. It works fine here, but it fully depends how often the search term is used around the forums. If we had to fetch like 10k results at once every time someone submitted a search query that'd be just ridiculous for the user experience and the server. There needs to be a degree of user tuning if you want to go back in time on a common search term. I'm searching the IV Chain Story for names of specific characters (think less major ones like Rocco or Vlad) and only getting an incomplete list, when previously I could do the same exact thing and get every mention no problem. Carbonox Posted January 19 Share Posted January 19 I should use this thread to also announce that my previously unresolved problem with changing ignore preferences also magically became fixed once I got my group properly set up. It used to be that I'd be unable to change anything from the menu because it'd immediately return an error message, so if anyone else is having the same thing happen, here's the solution to that too. AkshayKumar Posted January 19 Share Posted January 19 (edited) Just thought I'd mention, I remembered a thread where I had mentioned my age and I wanted to edit it out. I searched for all my mentions of that number but I didn't find the relevant post and had to manually search gen chat to find that thread (luckily was on page 2 lol). I edited it out now but even though that number was in my post in that thread it didn't appear in the search function despite less than a page worth of search results appearing, and all the results were before Dec 2021 including the one which didn't appear.
