purple nines glitch still a thing? (ps4)

currently going for platinum on ps4, but i had to restart my game for some of the hidden trophies. 

 

i already did the d ice mission on my old save so will i have to wipe my saves to get the platinum or is that glitch only tied to in game completion. 

 

sorry if this is a dumb question lol ty in advance for any answers

It existed on the mobile port so it probably exists in the definitive edition as it's based on it. Just start fresh new game directly after launching GTA 3 (not from your loaded save game) and the glitch should not be present. The glitch occurs only if you have loaded a save game where the purple nines are gone, open the menu and start a new game from this state (the game just doesn't reset the purple nines flag).

Do you have save in which there is no purple nines? If you do i suggest you delete your saves and start game from fresh start.

Sadly this bug is still present in DE, despite it being fixed by the modding community YEARS ago and said modders offering that fix to Rockstar/War Drum.

That's like, nuclear amounts of incompetency.

 

I'm not one to usually call devs lazy or incompetent since game development is pretty challenging, but either GSG/Rockstar/Take2 were lazy, don't care or are just insanely incompetent if this bug is still present. Probably all three if this keeps up.

 

How does one even get around this bug? On PS2, you could start a new game without your memory card inserted for a fresh start. On 360/PS3, you could back up your saves via USB. The current consoles lock your saves to the hard drive or the cloud so you literally got only one chance to ever do D-Ice's missions unless you wipe your files for good.

 

I think this actually offends me more than the glitches DE has since from what I've seen, the Purple Nines bug an easy fix to a well known problem. Literally just a line of code or something similar. Ridiculous.

@cgrizzy2112 Can you send me your Savegames? I will try something. I created a Topic about the "Purple Nines Glitch Fix - PS2 Savegame Repair". I have only tested this solution with a PlayStation 2 savegame, but maybe the PS4 savegame has the same code line in the savegame as in the PS2 savegame.
