vice city d3d8 problem

hi so i reinstalled vice city and installed the widescreen fix which comes with the d3d8.dll file, but when i put it inside the game's folder vice city wont open, only when i dont put the dll in the games folder.

can someone pls help me, i really want to play vice city in widescreen
NVM I FIXED IT, i think it was because i was putting the game's resolution as 16:9 in the widescreen fix, i instead made it run at 16:10 or maybe it was because of a faulty exe
