universetwisters
https://xflnewshub.com/xfl-news/take-two-interactive-files-trademark-dispute-with-the-xfl-over-renegades-logo/ Quote Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., the parent company of video game companies like Rockstar Games, 2K, Private Division, and Social Point, has taken issue with the XFL’s Dallas Renegades logo. It is not the Renegades name per se but the use of the letter R in one of its logos. A search of the United States Patent and Trademark Office found that Take-Two Interactive filed a dispute in August against the XFL’s parent company Alpha Opco, LLC. The dispute is over the use of the letter R in the Dallas Renegades secondary logo. That is right, the use of the letter R. It looks like Take-Two Interactive thinks they own the letter R. There are multiple dispute filings against anyone who has a logo that features the letter R. Disputes include companies like Reverse2k LLC, Restaurant Rockstars, LLC, and more. Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. has over 100 trademark disputes. Maybe they should worry less about the letter R and more about coming out with the next version of Grand Theft Auto. We have been waiting years for that. Dunno how true true this is because it’s one of the only sources, but it wouldn’t surprise me. “Sue anyone for pretty much anything and you’ll probably win (or at least get a settlement)!” NightmanCometh96, RyanDri3957V, Ivan1997GTA and 3 others 3 1
Spider-Vice
*IF* legitimate, this isn't even a lawsuit, it's a trademark dispute which is pretty different. I suppose one could search the USPTO database themselves. It’s still incredibly banal to insinuate that you own the right to a logo that’s just a letter though NightmanCometh96
Spider-Vice
Regardless I doubt R* ever put their hands on this case, most likely T2 lol. They do own the R* (and variants) logos. ChumCrumpet
Better get a copyright on the registered trademarks logo! Kind of ironic, ain't it? Edited November 30, 2021 by Deissp Xane_MM, Magic_Al, Graven and 1 other 2
CynicalMexican
That's completely random. I forgot the XFL was still a thing.
D9fred95
According to the GTA thread on KiwiFarms, this is a list of the companies they're having disputes with regarding the Rockstar logo, as well as a few Max Payne things. Some of these are fairly old though, going back to early 2020. https://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?pnam=Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. &page=1 CynicalMexican

Probably mostly miscellaneous legal crap anyway. #DownTheRabbitHole Ivan1997GTA, Spider-Vice and universetwisters
