End Phone Call for VC

For those who still play the original Vice City:
Have you ever get tired of long phone call conversations in Vice City? With this mod you can hung up the phone just like in San Andreas.

There's a  "Call Skiper"  but it has some serious problems like:
- phone talk will not be stoped unleass the player enters the vehicle which will only repeat the call later and not to mention that the future missions which depend on the call will not be triggered unleass the phone call is completely finished. I don't know if there's any other similar mod out there.

My mod can end the call and trigger missions right after you press the Enter/Exit Car key just like in this recording:

Download Link

SourceCode

Install:
Place HungUpThePhone.asi to the Vice City directory.
Supported game versions: GTA VC PC 1.0 and 1.1

Small but I think it's usefull.

Really cool mod.

Although there seems to be an issue: the mod appears to also affect phone calls in missions/cutscenes to some extent.

Most notabile in the assassination contracts, where after the intro phone call cutscene, the 'Press F to skip phone call' message will be permanently shown on screen.

Hopefully this can be ironed out.

Updated - the message should disappear after a few seconds.

Nice mod, I love how it adds a much-needed feature without touching the main.scm at all. I have some suggestions about it, though, if you will:

- An option to customize the skip call help text would be really awesome. You could include an optional .INI file where the end user would be able to configure exactly what text to display (if the file isn't found, you could make it fall back to the basic "Press F to skip the call" text).

- Does the help text display only once when you answer the first ever phone call with this mod installed? (as in, you install the mod, load the game, you get a call at whatever stage of the game you're currently at and the mod displays the help text for the first time) I haven't fully tested it yet but if it doesn't, you could add an INI option to make it appear only once and never again or make it a fixed feature (non-customizable).

- I've noticed the call can be skipped with the F key only, is it possible make it read the Enter/Exit Vehicle control mapping so you can use whatever key/button mapped to the said action like in SA/LCS?

Update:

- the F key replaced with Enter/Exit Car key defined in the game controll settings,
- you can customize the "skip call" message through the ini,
- added a small time frame before the message displays and after the player answers the call.

I'm not sure how to do that. But the text usually disappears right away just like the game messages.

I was talking about making the help text a one-shot kind of thing like, for example, the "Press RET or F to enter or exit a vehicle" message in the first mission. The mod would tell you about it only once and never again.:)
